  1. You're not alone. I hated the idea of losing draft picks and would have loved getting Teven Jenkins at 20. Well guess what, I liked the Pace factor. I still got Jenkins and ( would have bet my house on it) that drafting Justin Fields was impossible. Also a backup NT (Konga) a CB that will contribute this year ( Graham), a WR that will contribute (Newsome ), and a potential RT with an attitude (Bosom). Plus a RB that will end up being our primary backup to Mongomery. That's quite the haul with limited draft picks.
  2. Seen an article that stated Fields and Godwin are working out together with pics. Fields is already putting it together working out with his WRs before his season starts.
  3. Using Over the Cap info , we only have 28 players signed for 2022 with 50 mil cap space. That does not include the rookie contracts yet. Interesting tidbit, the Bryd signing was a vet minimum, so he only counts 250 thousand towards the cap . Grab more of these kind of contracts. I think it's at the point of the season, players just want to make sure they can get on a roster and not looking for big money.
  4. I would love Rodgers gone but think both sides of the argument have issues. Rodgers is a asshole with a big ego and the GM seems to be too. I think the top 3 QB wins and moves on. I can't wait until the packer fans turn on Rodgers, that will seal the fate. Something to think about, what if Love is good? We have another Farve to Rodgers scenario? One thing at a time.
  5. Burns got injured last year, it was Jordan lucas and Goldman that were the only 2 that opted out. We should remember there are players on this roster that could make significant contributions. Lucas was a decent player for KC. Blackmon could be the best DT FA signing on the defensive line over the last 3 yrs. Attaochu is an excellent pass rusher. Burns and Tre Robinson have some creed before they got here. Trufant was a pro bowler once or twice. If he can stay injury free, he can match Fuller's play last year which was a little above average. Jones is our best ILB signing since Kwat left. Wilkinson is a better player than Spriggs that's place he took. I still think Bars is capable of starting and could beat out IFEDI for the RT spot. Komet will have a break out year. Dont forgot Hoested can catch the ball. Ridley may actually prove his high praise he was once given. ( maybe not). The point is, we so easily forget people already on the roster that may be good players as we want more FAs.
  6. Graham has value, the questions are because of his pay amount. If he was being paid 4 mil, everyone would be praising him as a red zone threat and helping Komet become a NFL player. I wouldn't cut Graham, defenses have to pay attention to him when he's on the field. We need as many TD scorers as we can, he can do that. Hicks at 75% is still the best DT we have, agree.
  7. With all the back and forth because of Leno being cut, I think we are missing the main reason he got cut. NYC had some cosmic influence over the powers that be at halas hall. He willed this to happen. Think about it, came out of nowhere to think he got cut this soon. Jenkins is projected as a right tackle but the bears install him as there left tackle. To many things don't make sense. NYC wanted him gone, HE'S GONE.
  8. Nagy will finally have a QB and speed to try to run his system. No more excuses.
  9. I don't think they scrambling to save their jobs now. Fields gives them more time. Obviously if they go 4-13, that would change but I don't think this is a bad team. I can see them having a winning record. The defense will be better than last year, Goldman is back, Johnson, Smith, Nichols , Vildor will take a step forward. There is 9 CBs on this squad, someone will step up not as well as Fuller but we will get by. Komet and a speedy WR room will improve. Cohen will makes his presence felt. Mongomery will have better stats. And QB is better. The oline will end up being a strength that makes everything else better.i think they will add some more FAs but only after they evaluate the players they have. After June 1, there will be a new group of free agents to pick from.
  10. I agree PFF isn't the most reliable source but it does give you something to measure with. Wait and see , Leno will end up in Denver, juwan James just got injured for the year. He was average for a few yrs but the last 2 yrs has been going down hill. Finally they have the balls to get better than to accept mediocrity for another year.
  11. Definitely adding speed is a good thing, just makes Robinson and Komet that much more effective.
  12. I'm on Hoges Twitter and subscribe to The Athletic, he has a lot of good things to say.
  13. I read a stat where games 1-10 he was ranked 48th amongst OTs, and thru the rest of the season he was ranked 9th. So his was capable of being good, it was just a consistency thing. But moving on instead always ignoring the position forces us to try to be better.
  14. I absolutely think we are a better team than last year. I think the CB situation works out. Trufant, Tre Robinson, Artie Burns. Remember that last year Burns had beat out Johnson until he got hurt. Also I think Vidor makes a significant step forward, plus Shelley is in the mix.
  15. He , like most QBs, does not play as well under pressure. Experience is a good teacher. You can't improve sitting on the bench. Lots of tape on him out there. Watch it.
  16. I hate to say I like seeing you happy besides it was the right thing to do. If we are going to be a better team, we can't continue to accept mediocrity. A rookie will make some mistakes but by the end of the season, you will have a good player going forward. Does anyone remember, did Quinton Nelson sit his first year? Hell no.
  17. Cutting Trevathan will cost us an additional 9 mil, right now he's a 5 mil cap hit. We would save nothing. He played a lot better the second half of the season. I think covid affected his preperation for the season which cost him a slow start. Besides he is one of leaders of the defense.
  18. For me , it's a statement of we are moving on from mediocrity and looking to be a better team. Leno was always ( he's not that bad) , for me, he's not that good. A stud OT will have some bumps along the way but he will get better, not decline to be worse. That was all we could hope from Leno. Plus, we needed the money.
  19. I read where 9 teams had Fields rated higher than trevor Lawrence.
  20. Trevathan not going anywhere, cutting him would cost us 9 million more and not save any money. Right now he's a 5 mil cap hit. Miller maybe.
  21. I have read everything I could about the Rodgers ordeal and he won't be there QB anymore. There is a reason he announces he wants out on draft day. He holds a grudge and he wants the GM gone or he ain't coming back. One of his friends was asked about this and he said there's a 5% chance he will be back.
  22. NY bears wins the lottery today. To be honest, Leno was the mainstay of mediocrity on this team, now that he's gone, we can move to a new stage of beardome become a better team. I would much rather have a player that will ascend than a player that can only get worse. Goodbye mediocrity.
  23. Keep in mind players you cut at the end of the roster gives you money back. For example, Wims-Joel Iggy-Nall-Pierce-Christian-Tabor clear up between 5 and 5.5 mil in cap space. That's close to the rookie payout. As they keep rookies Tonga, they drop LaCall London 660,000 cap space. I think they can stay cap friendly with just back end cuts.
  24. I think he's here for the kick returner spot. As well as Newsome is a punt returner. This backups have to fill special teams needs.
  25. I could care less about value just think losing more darts at the board isn't a good long range development plan. BUT I have no problem with landing 2 top 20 players with the lost draft capital. I spent a lot of time looking at draft info and Jenkins will be a stud. Reminds me of the Quinton Nelson pick, a nasty attitude and aggressive approach. Also do not count him out at LT, he played 8 games there and was put at RT for the team's run game. NY may get his wish, if they cut Leno after June 1st, that the exact amount of money we need for our cap balance. Boron has lost 35lbs and got into better shape before the draft which contributed to his low draft value. He may be a big surprise AND he brings nasty to the line.
