  1. I don't think Trevathan is going anywhere. His post June 1st cut saves only 482, 000 . It would cost more for a backup than the money you save. He started slow ( lack of workouts) but played well the second half of the season. Leno not going anywhere either.
  2. They are putting themselves in position to take BPA with starters at every position. Minus no RB, IOL, DT, and S. Sam Cosmi and Darrisaw may be available at 20 both are LTs. Something to think about. Our OL coach was at Michigan before coming here and knows Mayfield well. Tom Herman was Cosmi's coach at Texas. I can see us move back in first round and could still grab one of them. The problem with finding a replacement for Leno, with limited practice how will you determine if the rookie is good enough to cut Leno before preseason? Leno is unfortunately going to be here. On the other hand, Jenkins is a plug and play at RT and already better than IFEDI.
  3. I think the new DC will have a better system of use for our Ss. A more aggressive approach than laying 10 yards off of the WRs at line of scrimmage. I think the first 3 picks will be offense, but at BPA concept it could be a CB
  4. I would love Jenkins but he is only a right tackle. He is physical and has a nasty attitude, something this needs a lot. As far as Trask, he will be there at 52 and could be there at 83 Mond and Mills are rated higher and will be drafted sooner. I seem to be missing where u picked a WR, something they will definitely be doing.
  5. Yes, a great place to visit. Go to Jaco, it's on the ocean 2 hours from San Jose , where the international airport is. Not the cheapest place but middling. I'm in Pattaya, it's a beach city. Bangkok is inline and humid all the time. Pattaya has a ocean breeze that helps a lot.
  6. I have been to 25 countries and Thailand is my favorite. I paid 722 RT from Chicago and that is the most I have ever paid. Brand new condo rental, 214 for month. Huge pool and workout center. 6 for an hour massage. Food is amazing and one of the most scenic countries in the world. The most traveled country in the world. ( minus virus year). I retired 4 yrs ago and went to Colombia for 1 month and Thailand for 1 month. Being single, it's the 2 countries with the most beautiful women in the world. To see where I wanted to spend my winters. ( cheaper than Florida and Arizona to live) I'm in pattaya ( on the ocean) one and a half hours from Bangkok. I have a girlfriend here now. Never had a woman be so wanting to please me and full of joy. So for football talk, Gibson is back at safety.
  7. One week is bad enough, I refuse to do 2 weeks unless I was staying 4 months, just going for 45 days. They relaxed restrictions starting April 1. I think Brugler is the best at this right now.
  8. There is all kinds of reports about grabbing a QB but the truth is a GM is going to check out all his options to fill needs. I don't think you can put anymore value in the fact Pace talked to teams in front of them. I think they will focus on a QB if one drops just before NE. 10-14. That would probably be a 3rd this year and 2nd next year. Otherwise they have 1 second tier QB they think they can develop.

    He has some game.
  10. I'm in Thailand now and have a 7 day quarantine. I will looking at tons of draft stuff since I have nothing else to do. Have the Dane Brugler and PFN draft guides to look at.
  11. I have some good recipes for crow. I think he will do something to surprise us. I hope its move back still get a OT and a extra top 100 pick. Then OT, WR, QB and CB can be addressed.

I think it was Wannsted that said ( on the score ( get a speed guy and throw deep 2 or 3 times a game ) and you will have a good running game. SOMETHING LIKE THAT
  13. Why do I see a lot of mock drafts having a high IOL draft pick? ,what am I missing? Whitehair, Mustipher, Daniels, Barr, and possible of IFEDI playing there. I can see a 5th round and beyond but one of the top 3?
  14. The only trade we make ( big salary)is for Wilson and that will never happen. No miracle trades out there, we have to turn for the draft for help. Before the draft we will be signing a SS, probably Gibson back which I'm okay with .
  15. What if one of the top 5 drop? Do you consider that a reach?
  16. Name that team ? I am not sure I know one.

This is a piece that will have a few big moments and be average on other days but is much better than UDFAS at the bottom of the depth chart. Stick AROB in the slot and have Mooney and Goodwin going deep. Sounds good to me. Speed forces defense to respect them. Anything helps.
  18. Seen a question posed on Twitter by a bears blogger, WHAT IS THE WORST CASE FOR THE 20TH PICK SCENARIO? For me its wasting draft capital to move up to get a QB . This year the team needs to get 3 starters with the first 3 picks. If a QB prospect drops, at least it's just one pick.
  19. I dont think it makes any kind of statement about Nagy, the only narrative you here is he is well liked by his players. I think it's just the union rep pushing the policy and the writing is on the wall. They will all end up doing it.

Here is a draft from PFN that would work for me.

great score, never been over 44500. I could come to love that draft. Like Stevens-Adebo-Rodgers-Brown-Mond-Leatherwood and Wildgoose, Dont like St Brown( better choices at that spot in draft.)
  22. I keep forgetting who is still on the roster when I look who they decide to draft high. Tarek Cohen is coming back and he could play the slot WR spot that would be a upgrade over Miller. Also we had two late round draft picks on the OL from last year. Did they have enough upside with a year of development to figure in the equation? Also I think Bars would be better than Ifedi that they brought back. CBs , we signed Burns and Trufant, and have these CBs already signed. Shelley, Crawford, Vidor, Tabor, Robinson, and just resigned Michel Joesph. Are one of the starters oppose Johnson already on the roster? Trufant will get first chance and if healthy is capable of solid play. I think Shelley will be the NB but is Vidor or Tre Robinson the outside corner?
  23. I agree in that order which will probably be in the third round. Sam Ehlinger is an interesting take since we have his college QB on our staff. Using the 5th round for a QB prospect would be more idea than a third as to filling needed positions.
  24. I am a bears geek at this time of year, I listen to podcasts and read every article I can. All my opinions are what I think is best, but one podcast I listened to this morning made some sense. Pace and Nagy are in win now mode, so what choices makes them the best team RIGHT NOW? What they are thinking? I think. What players in the first 3 rounds contributes this year to help then win? 1) A future franchise QB--- none of top 5 will fall so give away a first and third this year and one next year? Will not make this team better now but might save their jobs. Whoever they draft will not start this year and will subtract capital in this years draft. 1st and third would be gone. (probably not happening with Dalton having average play) 2) OT starter at RT then left next year- they have Leno and Ifedi back to start, if the first 3 OTs are gone will that pick upgrade enough to help win? I think yes, but they think a draft can get them a prospect that could start next year. SO I think they may wait until 2 or 3 to grab a OT of future. 3) CB There will be one available that could start and give you a needed boost on a defense that is still good. This is a way possible choice at 20. 4) WR There will be many good choices at this spot that could contribute now and be a future star in a deep class. This is probably the 20th pick but also find that guy in second. 5) S As of right now, no SS at the starter position but with many Ss still in FAgency, I think they will grab a starter before the draft. I suspect Gibson comes back. Will not be addressed until later rounds. 6) Edge- you always need more pass rushers and do not be surprised if one of the top 3 drop and they grab one. Summary) If a QB prospect does not drop-if one of the top 3 OTs is not there at 20- then I think they take a CB with the first round and WR in the second. I think they will try to move back and grab an extra 3rd or 4th round and get a QB prospect and OT prospect before the 5th round. If they get a starting CB, WR that plays a lot, and a OT and QB prospect of the future then they will have gotten the most out of this draft they could. THIS IS WHAT I THINK THEY THINK IS BEST, not what I want.
  25. I agree it will always be the #1 need until we have one but to draft a 3rd round valued QB at 20 is a flaw of bad teams. Now if one of the 5 drops then so be it. The problem is moving up would cost so much as to be detrimental to the team. Houston having Watson did not make them a winner. You have to somewhat be lucky. 80% of the QBs taken in the first round of drafts have failed. The Bradys, Wilsons, and Brees were all out of the first round and their teams kind of lucked out. If Pace did what he said he would do from the beginning of drafting QB prospects every year, we may have already lucked out.
