The only thing he did with Cutler was allowed 10 mil more guaranteed for 2016, what other choice did he have? I think they want to be competitive and retaining Cutler for at least one more year is the only way. There strengthening the oline, which improves the run game which puts Cutler in a better place to not turn the ball over. I dont pretend Jay is anything special, he is a 15-20 rated QB that makes lot of bad choices. We need to limit his mistakes. Im all for getting a new QB but this is the not the year that will happen. What they did was add a Pernell on an up and coming player that they did over pay for. It was a need that they had the extra money for by trading Marshall who the majority of the team didnt want around. They over paid for Royal but this isnt going to be the offense we had last year, we now have better options with a true slot WR and a speed Wr in White. We are not going to be predictable of which we were with Marshall and Jeffery. Paces report card cant be filled out for at least two years, but I like where it is going. Your entitled to your opinion and may someday be right, but would like to hear your ( I was wrong) comment, two years from now when these risky player changes prove good. I am sure you will still be complaining about Tillman being gone and how we should have kept Marshall and got rid of Cutler.

My picks for the rest of the rounds 4th: Jay Ajayi/RB---potential future starter. 5th: James Sample/FS-- lots of upside for a player new to the position 6ht: Zack Hodges/OLB-- special teams and then we see

We have no idea how this all turns out, 2 to 3 years from now, we could be complaining about Pace or high fiving on the fact he knows how to draft. I am always optimistic about whoever is there until proven differently. I will say this smells different, they perform like smart people, as much as I thought the last regime did, there was a lot of WTF. Pace will make some mistakes along the way, but the most important thing is to make us a consistent winner and it feels like its going in that direction. I think so far we have 3 starters, maybe not day 1, but before the end of the year. Grasu may be my favorite player by the time it is said and done. He is a leader, something this team didnt have last year. White will shine, and Goldman will be steady, but what I do think is different is we will have the ability to develop players something I questioned a lot in the past. What were doing is changing our culture in the locker room, gone is Marshall, no matter how good he was, a distraction that led to chaos. It seems like a step sideways but now we have a deep threat, something Marshall wasnt. Rolle and now Grasu will be leaders, something that was lacking. If you look at how everything breaks down, we will field a competitive team, maybe 8 wins. If everything turns out good, it could be more, but we have a lot to change and it may take a few years. We still need a RT or RG and move Long. Tre Jackson is still there and is a mauler in the run game. The top 2 OTs have questions but would be a good addition. We need more safety depth, I doubt if there is a starter left to draft, but maybe one we can develop--Deron Smith, James Sample. Adian Amos, Campbell, Pewitt, and Harris. ( we will be grabbing one) I think we are set at all our LB positions, with bodies to sort out. We could be adding a CB, there are some left with upside. IEO, Shaw, but I like the idea of Nick Marshall as a player to develop. There still some plum RBs out there. Ajayi, Cobb, Bud Allen,Langford.

The first two picks are legitimately BPA types. Grasu would not fall in that category, but is a born leader at a position that needs an upgrade. If Pace holds true to BPA theory then it will beone of those picks on your list. I personally think Shaw or Devin Smith should be the pick. They can contribute to special teams until they learn and be possible starters in a few years. I think we wait one more round and if Collins is still on the board , we should role the dice.

So far we have 3 starters drafted, when is the last time that has happened.
-
He is our center for the next 10 years plus he is a born leader, have read that is his best trait. Montgomery was a stop gap but not were building. Could mean Ola or Leno. I think we could be seeing Ola as our RT for the next few years, would have been a good place to grab a OT and will filled other spots.

Jason has to be creaming his jeans right now
-
I think PJ Williams is the man
-
2 very good football players that will actually play alot there first year, there is a GOD. PLUS we have the coaching to develop them, awesome.
-
Time to take a chance on La'el Collins? maybe a round later I think PJ Williams could be coming our way./CB TJ Clemmings/OT ???? Eli Harold is in play for sure How about Tevin Coleman/RB or Duke Johnson/RB Paul Dawson/ILB Harry Anderson/DE We still have the ability to get a rookie impact player
-
those are the 3 best names for us to take at 39. Would be elated with any of them. Instant starters.
-
Here is a list of the remaining players left and who I would have no problem with any of the top 12 other than the WRs. http://gbnreport.com/updated-gbn-big-board/
-
I think they already know that answer with the Oline. So if we draft one then they dont think much of what we have.
-
Where did you get all the picks at?
-
I agree with you, Fisher is the guy that forced Kyle Long to a guard position. He can be put at LT and let him stay there for 10. Move Bushrod to a better spot for him at RT and you have a potential stellar line for the next 5 or 6 years. Would still need to get a OC prospect. If we have a great line, the QB is better, the running game is better and it makes the defense better. Im all in on a LT.
-
He's not a nut job, he has ADD that is totally a different situation. I wouldnt take him in the second but beyond that would be no problem. Paces first draft cant have the first 4 picks taken cant be with a big bust tag hanging over them.
-
There is a lot of good football players left to grab, take anyone of those names, but want Collins if he is there.
-
I dont get it? He doesnt pick who you want and you throw away your team. I am always hopeful of new bosses and I think the new group running the team have merit but we wont know for a few years how good they turn out to be. You build a team by adding quality football players not by appeasing the fans. I think they took the BPA on the board and he will be special. What we need to do is to add 6 quality football players and the proof is in the pudding.
-
Should we start a dream thread where we can pretend we picked the players everybody wanted? I think it was a good pick. Now with round 2 lets trade back, if possible.
-
He was the BPA and thats who Pace said he will pick. White is totally different from Marshall, he has speed, something we needed to add. good pick
-
BPA on the board,white
-
They have Wilkinson, doubt if they take Williams
-
We may have him, jets aint grabbing him
-
thats all bullshit, do you really think a team is going to let you know what there doing.
-
This new regime has no history with these players, none of this has anything to do with Cutler. Another thing to consider is it may be a couple of years before we win again, so they probably want to go somewhere , where they can win now. Good luck with trying to get a new contract when your not honoring the one you have.
