  1. You can list these stats and have many different opinions on them. The question is can our QB make consistent long throws ? To use the over 31 yards stats, can be misleading because those passes are usually desperation passes in a game and means the team is behind and has to attempt them. Stats to look at: 21 to 30 yard throws. Orton- 17/46/472 5-tds 1-int Cutler-23/53/751 7-tds 3-int Manning-14/40/385 2-tds 1-int What do these stats say? Is Orton better than Peyton? Can Cutler throw a deep pass consistently? Stats to look at: All passes over 21 yards Orton-18/57/504 Cutler-27/80/944 Manning/ 21/58/848 What do these stats say? Being a bad team comes into play. Team philosophy. Playing from behind, so many things contributes to stats what do you want it to say? What I read from this is Cutler can throw a deep pass, and may be better than average at it.
  2. He left Buffalo without a contract so that could be good news for us, considering he knows Lovie.
  3. I think we have enough projects on the team, we now need to embrace what we have, Jay Cutler! Bennett will lead the team in recepitions,. forget who he was last year. Hester will be better. Olsen will be all pro this year. Forte will be one of the top three rbs in the NFC. Our offense will be one of the top 10 in the league this year and I am an optimist.
  4. We have so much to look forward to and so much to forget.
  5. There is no way Hester has 80 balls threw to him. We will throw to our TEs, RB, and Bennett will be the leading receiver. Here is how I see it. Bennett 72-around 800 yards and 4 TDs Hester 61- around 900 yards and 8 TDs Olsen 59- around 700 yards and 6 TDs Forte 46 - around 500 yards and 4 TDs Clark 41- around 400 yards and 2 TDs Iglesias 32- around 400 yards and 2 TDs Knox 12- around 200 yards and 2 TDs Cutler will throw for around 3900 yards and 28 TDs
  6. He keeps looking for additions to make this team better and will continue to till he gets it right, we will be a very good team next year, no matter who says Cutler doesnt have the weapons, its about winning and we are set up to do that.
  7. He lost weight to move to the Will spot, he was productive playing at that weight when moved to Sam, have him put on a few pounds and plant him at the Sam, productive player and stick him with a couple of good LBs and may look real good.
  8. There trying to shore up all our weaknesses last year. Short yardage situations. Plus using 2 TEs sets, gives us one blocker and one pass catcher in that formation, more flexablity. He will help alot, and will block better than McKie and probably catch a few more balls out of the backfield. Excellilent idea.
  9. they will have thre moments but have a long way to go. I would say a good year for them would be 6-10. All new scemes and new players, just will take time if they got eveything right, and we still dont know that.
  10. What have we did yet to make a judgement on any of our players? We have to go to camp , before we can start judging players.
  11. Pegues was listed in several mock drafts as a FS as a player we picked in the middle rounds. Three websites had him at the 12th rated FS, one the 130th ranked player in the draft and the another at 170. Maybe he can stick as our FS.
  12. Yes he is a question mark, just like a rookie would be coming in. If you look at the OL players drafted they are changing positions all over the place. If your a good player you should be able to play several spots anyways, and someone thought that so they brought him in here.
  13. I think Melton might be the goalline guy. He scored 16 TDs on the goalline for Texas.
  14. Someone on the NFL network interviewed Jerry about that rumor, they did call him but were going to take him with there late third or early 4th round pick. Someone assumed it was with the second pick after the fact. They wanted Robisckie and when he wasnt there were trading out of it.
  15. The thing is with Melton is he has all the atributes of a big time pass rusher. The speed, the quickness, the firs step, but he hasnt did it yet. He changed positions in college and didnt start till the 3rd game of his senior year. With coaching he may turn into somebody, but didnt have production in college due to his inexperience. If you read some of the experts and how they rate our draft, some concider him nothing and some think he could be the bomb. We will just have to see how it turns out.
  16. Larry Foote will be available, can he play SLB? Also Mike Doss was released, FS , doesnt anybody know if he is any good anymore?
  17. You really need to get off that stud OG stuff. We have two new players there and that are more seasoned than any rookie we could have brought in. Robinson dropped as low as he did for a reason, and wouldnt be starting here if we did drafted him. Garza is the oldest guard we have now and I think he is 30, there will draft one to develope in the future, we are quite find at guard, you will see one they take the field.
  18. Couldnt have stated any better that you did.
  19. We dont know how these players will turn out, but what I did like. We draft the DL, where we definitly need more of a pass rush and addressed that. We added WRs and definintly needed an upgrade there. We added a solid LB, hopefully that means we can improve our SLB position by him or moving people around. We added a very good CB which means, maybe that looses up a player to slide into the FS spot we didnt address in a weak FS class. Maybe a new FB which would please me alot. A blocking TE is a small move but might help alot at the goaline. I think we also may have a goalline RB in Melton to punch it in at the goaline of which we couldnt do last year. We vastly improved our OL threw FAgency, and would have like to had a developmental OT, but you cant fill all your needs in one offseason. And finally added a QB which will evevate the play of all phases of the team.
  20. Melton is just an upside guy, but beg to differ on producton for Gilbert. 47 Ts, 22 TFL, 9.5 Sacks, 3 PKnockdowns, doesnt sound like a bad year for a DT. The top DT in the draft had 14TFL, 7.5 sacks, 5 knockdowns.
  21. He comes from a unique situation of changing positions and only getting one year of starting out of it. I like production guys of which he is not but everybody doesnt follow the same senerio to get to be a good player. I think with some coaching could fall into a high reward player. And then again he could be a bust, but we wont know that answer for a couple of years will we.
  22. It bothers me alot to get an endorsment from Mel Hair.
  23. Sean Smith was gone in the second round.
  24. this is how I would play it, but remember Im not that sharp. 3a-Johnson/FS/Ala addresses one of our pressing needs 3b-Inglesias/WR like this pick 4a-Melton/DE great upside 4b- Moore/CB great valve 5a- Knox/WR could be Cutlers next Eddie Royal 5b- Fulton/OT could develope in to a reliable player 6- Follett/LB a strongside LB 7a-Hoyer/QB NE wanted him, enough said 7b-Gill/DT He aint Gilbert but still could make the rotation
  25. I doubt if we grab anybody unless the 3 we picked up look real bad in the training camp time. Your right that would help with veteran player, but only on preseason cuts after some draft choices fall on there face. Do you think we can line up a trade for a FS after teams line up there teams, like we did with Oguly? That is a possible senerio.
