On a few plays he's not releasing the ball, he could have had a few more completions. Bad college habits. -

Hard to get sacked when your running the ball. Run Johnson up the middle until they stop it. I thought CW had pocket awareness, every time he leaves the pocket its into pressure. It seems like he's changing a lot of plays at the line of scrimmage. Now Jones is hurt. -
I think CW showed flashes but when things were breaking down, was holding the ball to long. On several plays, a player was open quickly and held the ball to long that let the pressure get to him. It is just a growth process and he is way to talented to judge in two games. We dealt with the same thing last yr with Justin. He showed flashes but held the ball to long on to many plays. You either look at the positive or the negative side. As a player going threw a growing period, he is going to do both.

When it fails as bad as it has, its everyones fault. There is physical limitations on a few players but the two most physical players on the line have played bad too, (Jenkins and Wright). When you see Shelton not pick up a stunt, that's a mental mistake. Everyone said there was communication issues last week. Those are things you can fix. Play calling can help the line also, which we can fix. When you have 5 players blocking 6 , that never works. We will see a better plan this week. Colts front 7 are not as talented as Houston was. Running the ball better will help a lot of the OL play, play action will help CW , and the defense will dominate. Key plays will be TOs and how well we run the ball. Being more basic will help the O. I think we see a lot of 2 TE sets and some rollouts mixed in. -

I think the death of his mother affected him but it goes to a deeper problem with a lot of players that get big contracts, they dont care enough to live up to it. Players like DJ and TJ Edwards just give prime effort all the time, it doesnt have anything to do with money. -

On a whole, free agents arent worth what they get paid. We were in on McGlinchey a few yrs ago but Poles wouldnt give him over 14 mil. He's been terrible. Davis had good tape but mentally isnt into the game since his mother died. Hasnt played well here. Injuries hasnt been our friend but we do have some depth this yr. Pryor at RG, Bates takes over OC in a few weeks, problem solved. -
When I became happy for getting CW, those werent the records I was hoping for.
-
There is no calvary coming to save the OL. The only way this team gets better is with more OL friendly play calls and better execuation. Bates has to be better than Shelton but that's 3 weeks away. A big part of the problem last week was communicating the OL adjustments, CW admited he had a problem with that. I think more 2 TE sets and focus on running the ball will help alot. That sets up play action. All of that will make the offense run better. Flus has shown why Poles kept him by his half time adjustments . Only 3 points by 2 teams. He blew the one challege but think he took a shot in the dark on the interception, hoping the refs make a mistake, something they do all the time. After a 1-1 record, no ones getting fired. Check back in 4 weeks and we will have more games to judge by. 5-1 or 4-2 its a go. 3-3 ?? losing record, chances are new people NEXT YEAR.
-
4-2 is highly likely and 5-1 is possible. This team has enough talent to do that. As CW progresses we will be more dependant on him.
-
I think he goes one more week with this group and if it isnt better , I suspect we see Kramer at center and Pryor at RG until Bates gets back. Dont forget Booker will also be coming back which may be better than what we have seen so far. I read a lot and one of the biggest problems was comunications breakdowns. CW calls out the line call and Shelton lets everyone know, it was braking down all the time. CW, Waldron and Flus stated that. Mental mistakes look just as bad as phyically getting pushed around. Everything broke down against a very good defense. We see what changes and if it works. With all that said , late in the game we still had a chance to win. Every week will be like that until the offense jells.
-
I was being sarcastic but it was directed at everyone thinking everyone should be fired. Last year Houston lost their first 2 games, totaled 130 yds rushing and Im sure their base was complaining too. We are 1-1 with an outstanding defense and people want Waldron and Mogan fired. I just think people are over reacting. Now if in doesnt look better in the next two games, I'll be there with you guys but we could be 4-1 and still not having a good looking offense, but I expect them to play better.
-
We need a coach like Houstons coach that know what he's doing. Oh wait a minute, he's a defensive coach. He needs to be fired.
-
With our defense , it will keep us in games. As bad as the offense was, we had the ball at the end of the game with a chance. Considering the quality of the opponent, that's all you can ask for. The offense will absolutely grow, anything in a winning season 9+ is a positive. CW has to be a part of that or we wont make it to nine. I predicted 12-5 because I'm selfish, not that realistic. We are right where most predicted us to be 1-1. 5-1 may be to hopeful but 4-2 is very doable. Anyone look at the rest of the conference? Philly-Dallas-GB-Detroit- Rams-SF? Who's the powerhouse? By the break we will have a clear vision of what we will be. The OC will figure it out-the OL will play better ( no juggernaut) and CW will be better.
-
If we go 5-1, how many people will still want everyone fired? Its always feast or famine for Bears fans.
