  1. I believe Lovie lives in Texas during the offseason.
  2. I don't disagree, but you still have a 1st round draft pick. There have been a lot of reports saying Wayne isn't necessarily a package deal with Manning though. He might go but he very well might not.
  3. Per Jay Glazer. No amounts yet.
  4. On a sidenote, the cap number being thrown around by most of the media guys: Vjax - 11 to 13M Mario - 14 to 15M. Wanted to put that out there. Bears currently are about $26M under the cap (this is factoring in the Forte's franchise hit).
  5. Who is to say that rumor is even true. I think the Bears are going to add a pass rusher but I fully expect them to add a wideout as well. If it is a lesser wideout (anyone not named Colston/Vjax), I than expect them to draft one in the 1st or 2nd round.
  6. Brad Biggs tweets that there is a lot of smoke out there, but Bears are supposedly hot after Vjax.
  7. I still think if the Bears hit on Williams and miss on Jackson there are other opportunities. Such as a Garcon/Reggie Wayne/Royal/etc.
  8. I'm going Williams. I'd rather pay the extra few million for a guy that I believe is an elite end. Just my 2 cents. Plus, I think it makes our defense that much better and should help us when it comes to going against the Lions/Packers pass attacks.
  9. Ya. I didn't realize they had 30M in cap room. It is too bad that they gave Fitz all that money. They would have been a great fit for Manning to be honest.
  10. The Bills will make a run at Vjax supposedly.
  11. Mully & Hanley indicated Lovie & Peppers were talking with Vjax in Texas. No idea why Vjax is in Texas. I assume that would be where Williams is.
  12. John Clayton reporting that Atl and Sea are now Williams favorites.
  13. I haven't heard that but damn, that would be pretty cool. I wonder if other players on the Bears would be willing to tweak their deals for something like this to happen?
  14. If 11-13M per year is what Vjax is going to get. Than I'll pay the 15M a year that Williams will get. To me, the other 2M to get a guy who is one of the most talented DE's in football is worth it. I could be wrong though.
  15. Cole is reporting that Vincent Jackson has narrowed his choice to the Bears & Bucs. Take it for what it is worth. Note: I personally put little validity into these type of leaks because I assume they have to be coming from the players and their reps and they probably want to throw a few teams out there to push/drive the market. I have to believe Emery has kept his free agent plans very close to the vest given the way he plans on running the Bears (e.g., secretively).
  16. I'll take Williams over Vjax. Especially since the money won't be significantly different between the two. I still believe if the Bears go big on one player, they will still have money to make another couple quality smaller signings.
  17. I'll believe it when I see it, but I'd crap my pants if it happened.
  18. Bears also have a few more million in cap room (1.6M or so is what is reported as a result of this move). So now they fall into the 32M range (including rollover). This includes the cuts of Adams/Omilaye.
  19. From what I've heard from some people in the Chargers org, it is all about the money. He'll maybe take a little less (like a few hundred grand) to play for a contender but other than that, he wants "money money money".
  20. Browns are still a possibility as are the Chargers.
  21. Apparently, Wimbley was the Bears top target in 2011 FA. However, he was resigned by the Raiders prior to the Bears getting a chance. This is pure McClure and the speculation is the Bears will be high on him again this year. They think he's the perfect compliment opposite Peppers. Probably will cost between 5-7M a year. I know we've talked about him a lot but I figure at this point, he deserves his own thread. I assume he will be release by the Raiders shortly!
  22. If he's gone, Bears will be signing someone else (or drafting someone). To me it just doesn't make sense but oh well. I like Bell but Barber is a great fit as the short yardage guy behind Forte.
  23. Bears were interested in him last year but the injury issues scared them away. Those same issues are still there but for the right price he might be a good depth signing that could turn into a home-run move.
  24. Phenemonal news. Redskins were going to spend a lot of money. They will still have about 15M in cap room after they split it between 2012 & 2013 but that is half what they expected.
