  1. It only makes sense. Now the better question is, when will Brett stop playing?
  2. I'm not trading our draft picks. We need those things right now.
  3. 2 parts. The on the field guys picked the Bears. The in studio guys (Billick and company) went through and picked the Dolphins. IT was basically two different sets of selections. Mooch is the only guy that will really ever pick against the Bears on the on the field guys (Faulk/Sanders are biased to the Bears as is Warner).
  4. I should point out that the talking heads primarily said nothing but good things after our win and a lot of them said we have to be considered a dangerous team. NFL Network in general has pretty fair coverage and I agreed with most of their assesments prior to the game (even though they pretty much all had the Bears losing except Warner). But there rationale was acceptable and overall I felt like they offered fair facts on the team.

I heard that in the post game too and it made me feel better, because outside of that throw I can only think of 1 or 2 that a defender even had a shot at a pick and it would have taken a great play. And in general, every QB will have a couple of those situations. Of course It still sucks that he threw it far.
  6. I'd call the game the very definition of dominating. Lots of first downs, killed in time of possession, and they couldn't do anything offensively.
  7. Best, most relaxing Bears game I can remember watching in years.
  8. I like Wright's instincts a lot. Whenever he's on the field he seems to be in the "Wright" place I really think we might have the best defense in the league. Our dline is solid with a best in Peppers. Our Lb's are as good as anyones. Our safety's a rock solid and our CB's are alright (but we have nice nickel depth). Add in our special teams unit and there is a lot to like about this team. We still are leaving a lot of points on the board and clearly have some limitations/hinderances of what we can do on offense due to our oline and still adjusting/learning the new system. This is a HUGE HUGE win though!!!
  9. And the great thing is, he's showing smarts cause we know he's got excellent athletism from the safety position.
  10. Beautiful first down slant to Knox by Jay.
  11. I don't know what happened this year, but by and large Manning is playing brilliantly from the safety spot.
  12. Oline did a nice job on that 3rd down. And I'm ok with the throw Jay made. Very little chance the DB who jumped the route can make the pick. Nicde play by the Dback though. 3rd sack by Peppers!!!
  13. Shit, our own guy just knocked Peppers out. Nevermind, Peppers just ran into Harris. He looks ok. Peppers with 2 sacks now I think.
  14. And I'm telling you, imo, Knox was interfered/illlegal contact with, had the interference not been there none of us would have been griping because Knox would have been the best guy in position for the ball.
  15. Our oline penalties are still really hurting us. Lets pick up Webb.
  16. You mean a play where if you watch the replay youll see Knox was completely held and that is the reason why there was a shot at a pick (of course it wouldn't have stood because of a play on the otherside of the field anyway).
  17. Forte is having his best game in a long while, imo. I know he had a nice game against the Panthers but this is against a legitimate defense.

Seriously? We had a hell of a 1st half and it was 2nd and a mile with a huge rush. Under 2 minutes in the game and we were just outside of scoring range. It was a dumb play but Jay figured he might as well take a chance. Again, stupid pass and I have no idea what he was doing but that holding by Webb really hurt and I told my wife after that penalty I thought a pick was coming.
  19. This game definitely scares me. Bears are traveling to Miami on short rest and are down Timo. On top of things they won't really be able to gameplan much for Thigpen. Could be a tough one, but hopefully we execute well and keep that momentum the Bears have rolling!!
  20. Lovie earns an extension if we make the playoffs this year, make some noise, and than are 6-0 or 6-1 heading into a hypothetical bye week next year. At that point, count me in. Until than, no iffs ands or butts about it. The only exception I have is if we win the superbowl. I can understand that would lead to an automatic extension.
  21. That is assinine.
  22. You must have a short memory. The Bears kicked the shit out of the Cowboys and in regards to the Lions game they dominated from the 2nd half on. A lot of our early struggles should have been expected with a brand new offense and a new oline. Especially when the offense is supposedly a notoriously difficult one. Buffalo has played quite good the past 5 weeks, record or not. And the Bears played well in that game. They left some things on the field but made a ton of strides. Packers committed penalties, often times because Julius Peppers forced them in that game. Peppers was a complete monster on that day against Green Bay. Panthers got clobbered with our 2nd string QB that is absolutely freaking horrible. And we ran for a ton of yards. That game was never ever even close to in question (we were up 3 scores early in the 2nd quarter for pete sakes).
  23. All that said. Tyler Thigpen is a pretty solid quarterback so the Bears can't sleep on him and in a short week there is going to be very little adjusting that can be done on the fly. It is going to be a tough game, especially since Miami has a very good defense and a strong rushing attack. Oh and they have Nolan as there DC and he is about as good as it gets at disguises his blitz packages. This game will be a huge test for our oline, imo, as well as our dlineman. Step up to the challenge Chicago!!! Dolphins only losses are to very good teams (Pats/Steelers/Ravens/Jets).
