  1. He seems to have some good tools. This might be a pretty solid signing.
  2. It would be pretty huge if somehow Berrian's one turns into a 3rd. That would be really nice and give the Bears some extra chips for safety or extra chips to move up and snag somoene they want in the 2nd or 3rd rounds.
  3. At least he's a starter. Don't know much else about him and obviously he wasn't exactly highly sout after. Than again, neither was Green and he turned into a pretty good safety after the Bears traded him.
  4. It sounds like the broncos will deal Cutler for the right price. I will be the first to say that I would give up our first rounder and a future first for Jay Cutler. Franchise QB's dont grow on trees and I would like nothing more than having our QB of the next 10 years decided. However, we clearly have some other needs so I would hope that we could get him for less, but bottom line, I'd be on board.
  5. When he was healthy last year, he was still very productive though. If you can't get St. Clair, signing Pace and bringing in a relatively high draft pick to eventually take over wouldn't be a bad idea at all.
  6. I'd cream myself if our first two rounds work out like that. We might just have bookends at the Tackle spot as well as a nice young WR to team up with Bennett, Hester and hopefully Holt.
  7. I'm a little wrong in the sense that Pace did play 14 games last year.
  8. He's been injured, but if the Bears lose out on St. Clair it wouldn't be a bad option to sign Pace as a stop-gap. The problem is, you know your relying on a guy whose best years are behind him and that might not be able to stay healthy and if he goes down the Bears wouldn't have any options (well I guess they would have the guy they just signed). So I think if you sign Pace, you do it because you want him to temporarily start while you are training your early draft pick.
  9. If the Bears brought in Garcia to start it would be a terrible terrible move. If you sign him, its to be a backup and insurance policy in case Orton gets hurt or turns into a downright disaster. Otherwise, if the Bears don't believe in Kyle, they should be doing what they can to ensure they can draft a QB that they think could be a franchise guy (ie, Sanchez and moving up to do so).
  10. Sounds like Barnes is the backup plan if the Bears can't sign St. Clair. The below is from the Sun Times
  11. He wouldn't be a bad backup, but obviously if Orton doesn't pan out the Bears would still be in need for a QB.
  12. I'm going to be freakin pissed when we don't even bring Holt in, but it looks like the Titans might make a run at him. March 17th is when he's due his roster bonus so we should find out a lot by next week.
  13. Best of luck Bearsox. I agree with the way to spotlight yourself, that would be huge. I'm a complete novice when it comes to breaking down or looking at tape but I had a really hard time following the play. The other thing I might do would be to remove some of the footage and instead slow motion some of your good plays so people can follow you and do others in full speed so they can see the actual live speed. And I have zero experience in this so I'm not certain. Oh and one other idea would be to right after the beginning to start it off with a picture of you cause than a scout could get an idea of your body type and stuff like that.
  14. I wouldn't have a problem with it.
  15. The thing is, that plays to your advantage in the cover 2 where the strong safety isn't necessarily utilized as much in pass coverage.
  16. I want to know who the freak they were talking about so I have an idea on the position they were targeting. I got a feeling it was getting into the Jay Cutler talks.
  17. Absolutely, but I prefer Holt.
  18. He was absolutely horrendous in pass coverage, however, he's very talented and could be a better fit in the cover 2 defense. I'd take him over Payne, thats for sure.
  19. Honestly I feel a lot better, sounds like he realizes we don't have a #1 WR and he's going to try and address it. I hope that means he plans on adding a FA like Holt as well as a draft pick.
  20. If Holt becomes available and the Bears don't sign him I will be livid. He's been a 1000 yard machine any year where he had a QB to throw him the ball and this past year, St. Louis was an absolute disaster and his stats suffered from it. The guy would be the best WR the Bears have had since Moose (I know I know) and still has another 1 or 2 1000 yard seasons in him. Plus, bringing him in immediately takes pressure off Hester to be the guy and allows the Bears to really mold and develop there younger guys (and having a vet like Holt should help that process as well). You than use a first day pick on the WR you like and put him with Bennett and in time you hope at least one of the two WR's brought in this year and last year develop (if not both) and you have Davis as a 5th receiver/special teams player and than obviously have Clark/Olsen. I think in a matter of two moves, the Bears WR corps goes from being one of the worse in NFL history to one of the better receiving corps in the league (Top 15 at least and when you factor in our TE's and Forte all of a sudden your talking about an offense with weapons. Plus I think Holt is a very good compliment to Hester). Give him a 3 year deal with a big signing bonus (similar to the Moose deal in a sense). But the Bears have tons of cap space so money should not be a concern. I'd also of course go for Owens but I know that won't happen and I'd prefer Holt to Owens when you factor all things.
  21. Damn, you got me all excited that the Bears were bringing someone in. I wish Rex nothing but the best.
  22. This would be a no brainer. I would give up Orton and the 18th pick for Cutler.
