  1. He only started playing the position in 07'. He needs some coaching up, but you just can't teach the type of athleticism he gives you on the edge.
  2. Reach, but he is an athletic beast. Could do worse than bulk up the DL. Better be getting Bruton next.
  3. Same, meh, reaction from me. Smart, good routes, good character, quick with great hands. Solid, but not spectacular.
  4. Not a big pool jumper fan, but we did get great size and athleticism there. Would have preferred MJ, but no biggie.
  5. Pretty poor value but whatever. I would have taken MJ or Shad, but it's fine by me.
  6. I hope JA is forgetting Wr now that the top 7 are gone. There's still Shad and Sherrod left at FS this round though.
  7. There's no scenario that would make it okay to pick him at 49, IMHO. For those assuming we are set on going WR at 49, perhaps you missed the column earlier in the week where JA said if there guy isn't there, it wouldn't be much a difference between the reaches there and the guy they could get at 99.
  8. I'd be all good with a trade down to the late second to pick up a late third. As for Wallace, sure, he'll do...in the fourth.
  9. How freakin stupid does one have to be to test positive for herb during the biggest job interview of their life? I hate to agree with Casserly on anything, but anyone that dumb is off my board completely. I've got zero problem with chiefing, none at all, it would be naive to not realize the majority of the league probably smokes it at least occasionally. However, testing positive in Indy tells me that you are both stupid, and have a problem.
  10. Should be streamed on nfl.com. Might need to use a US proxy server, but that's easy. Worst case, check out myp2p.
  11. And all the experts will also tell you that Rob is about two years more advanced in his knowledge of the position compared to the other guys in this class. Screw stretching the field, we already have Devin for that, and BTW if Rob had a QB who could consistently hit him deep, his 20+ catch numbers would have been MUCH better. We need a flanker for Devin, someone who can run good routes, get consistent separation, and catch the ball. I'm not saying I only want us to aim for a possession guy, but I think Rob gives us AT LEAST that with plenty of room to develop. Sure, his ceiling is lower than some guys, but that's because his house' basement is basically his first floor, unlike the vast majority of rookie WRs. What you expect from him is someone who you don't have to spend forever coaching up, which means a bigger impact right off the bat.
  12. Horrible. Williams over Robiskie=barf Great, another 3-tech rather than the NT we could use. Even then, taking a DT before FS, DE, OL, LB, FB, CB, is retarded. Another ten yard, mini-me cb, sweet. A SS rather than the Fs we need, stupid. Cool with Luigs, but would MUCH rather have one of the many more versatile athletes to bring in behind our current group. Love Joel Bell, absolutely love the kid. Mortty is one of those guys who plays much faster than he times, and is pretty good in coverage. Wouldn't mind him at all this late. It would be nice to have that SLB who can cover TEs like Lovie wants to do, rather than peel the SS off to do so. I'd be very pleased with Hunt. Speaking of undersized rush DEs, Stryker is a UDFA according to Todd, and I would snatch him up in a second with either seventh. Love me some Sulak.
  13. I like the picks other than Shaughnesy and Watkins. Matt has a serious injury history, and I just plain don't think he is a the type of RE we need. He'll probably be a nice LE some day though. If we were aiming for a LDE there, I love Kyle Moore as one. Not sure I really like ANY DE in that area really. I know everyone is slobbering over the upside and measurables that Melton has, but that is too early for him. As for Watkins, I just plain don't like him and never really have. Not very strong, and I just don't see the feet. If we're going developmental (which we absolutely should), give me one of the many athletic guys there who need to work on technique and strength(Lang, Bussey, Murtha, Vollmer, Bell, Cadogen, Durand, Gardner, Lewis, etc.). Like the BYU duo at OG this year, and wouldn't be too disappointed with Feigna (or Bright) late. I would be VERY happy if we were able to get Morgan that late. That would probably be my steal of the draft. Unfortunately, chances are slim to none that he will fall that low. Him and Dom Johnson seem to be getting no respect right now as far as big CBs go.
  14. I would want JA to commit hari-cari for making such a stupid decision. Hypothetically speaking, of course.
  15. That sucks. He's one of my favorite developmental WRs in the draft. Hopefully, it IS just bumps and bruises like his mom said.
  16. Just like I said about him last week. The guy doesn't do dick for three years, dropping balls left and right over that time, then AJ arrives to take on double teams every week (and STILL was the far more consistent receiver) and Mass finally has a good year with a phenom throwing him the ball. So now he deserves to go 49? I know, "it's a tossup, we don't know...crapshoot...blahblahblah," but don't tell me you can't judge a player as being worthy of a slot based on what he did over a four year college career. To me, Mass is not worth that pick even based just upon his Sr. season and postseason, tossing in the first three years makes him even less worthy of that pick.
  17. I think I saw some Sun Devil adult diapers at Albertson's the other day.
  18. I'd love to see him and Hester run the reverse, or rather other teams trying to cover that. Thomas may have run the best end around in the nation. Once he got outside, he looked like a missile and turned into a straight up HB out there when he had to create room. I know it's an odd thing to notice about a player, but the handful of times I saw him run the play I was completely shocked.
  19. I've said this elsewhere when someone brought up the fact that we seemingly have no interest in signing a vet WR, and how it points to us definitely going WR first (when he still had 18). I think it shows a definite commitment on Lovie and co.'s behalf to youth, and commitment to the players they invested in (3rd on Bennett, pretty good money on Davis). I, for one, absolutely love that frame of mind and have been calling it for it since we signed Moose and all the other stop-gap vets. It definitely means we will bring in a WR, but I don't think it means we are all on on WR at 49. I think the commitment extends to both Bennett/Hester as well as whatever rookie they bring in, but I don't think it means anything definite about the draft other than the fact that they intend to add talent there through it. Limiting yourself to one position and broadcasting yourself to the whole league like that would be, like I said, myopic. I look at it this way, if we went into the season as is at WR I would feel at least okay about having upside there. If we went in with our current ragtag squad at FS, I might just yarf. Our coverage from our safeties (FS in particular) has killed us two years in a row as much as any other position on D (including DE), and it's about damn time we fix it. Give me a true rush RE (probably not the right spot) who can actually apply pressure on a consistent basis, or a smart coverage FS at 49 and I'll be a very happy man.
