He could've easily went in the late 2nd and would've been gone before we picked in the 4th, 4 Offensive Linemen went between our 3rd and 4th pick. He was the 16th Offensive Linemen drafted and 3rd Center. He was easily a top 10 OLine prospect and at least the 2nd best Center.

Yeah, I was sort of projecting the 53-man, hard to see those guys making it over the current roster.

With the draft and most UDFA's signed, using our pre-draft depth chart, I tried to figure out who makes the cut at 53. The biggest battles are at LB and CB, and who plays what on the DLINE. Nevertheless, it should be interesting. For simplicity sake, I plugged some guys in for only one position even though they can play multiple. Looking at this you can see why we did not draft a LB. Also, it looks like the low end of the roster turnover would be 33% and can get as high as 45% depending on which 53-man roster guys stick (I see about 6 at risk) and 18 new slots already filled. What do you think, look about right? Well in an indirect way it does, GB doesn't get any better and with basically zero FA activity, I think they have actually taken a step back. Detroit lost Suh and some other pieces and are definitely worse this year compared to last. Minnesota acquired Mike Wallace and had a decent draft, so they should be better this year. However, based on our coaching changes (scheme changes), front office, free agent acquisitions, and now draft, we clearly have had the best offseason. To me you have to win 365 days a year, not just during the season. If you don't have a good offseason, that can easily translate to the regular season.

Add Collin Garrett, LB from SFA, 6'2"-214

Don't forget about Sam Acho, from 2011-2012, in 26 starts, he had 88 tackles, 11 sacks, 5 PD, 2 INT, and 6 FFB. He got hurt in 2013 and lost his starting role in 2014. So he has the production and is only 26. I am hoping just for a top 10 offense and top 20 defense and at least an 8-8 season.

Using this method, Minnesota had the best draft from our Division, but they were aided by having 10 picks. We were second, then GB, then Detroit. Detroit only selected one player later than their projected slot (their last pick). GB's only good value pick was Hundley (and he will never play for them). Randall in the first was a slight reach and Amos is actually comparable and we got him in the 5th. Same for Detroit, they took Tomlinson in the first, yet we got Grasu in the 3rd. They took Abdullah in the 2nd and we got Langford in the 4th. The only drawback to this draft was not having more picks. My buddy who has ties to the Seahawks organization sent me a text after the Langford pick "Bears are killing it".

Wow very cool. He had a 5th to 6th round grade, so he has potential and could stick.

That is more of a coincidence than anything else. There is no way they said "ok Emery went with Ferguson, lets correct that with Goldman". That is just silly, the media will find any angle. Goldman is better than Ferguson and Sutton, Amos is better than Vereen, and Langford has a higher ceiling than Carey.

For any draft the goal should be 3 starters and 2 subs. I believe we will have that with this draft. We actually have a chance for 4 or even 5 depending in Langford. What I still find amazing about Marshall is that he has never played in a playoff game, has only played 2 seasons on a team with a winning record, and has only lasted 3 yrs on any team.

He seemed to be the biggest reach as he was rated as a 7th UDFA.

If he is going BPA, Langford was selected 20 slots after his big board ranking (CBS Sports).

How do we even know if they wanted to get out of Cutler's contract, and based on the framework with guaranteed money, it was going to be hard to move on in such a short amount of time anyway. I will miss Tillman too, but there is no way to know what he has left as a CB at 34 needing to play more man than zone. I have a friend who is a Ravens fan and he felt McPhee was the best player on their defense and is still pissed that they lost him. Royal had more receptions and yards than Marshall last year, is 2 years younger, fills a huge need in the slot, and saves cap space. Even though we have some dead money this year for Marshall, his cap hit if he was on the team would've been more than Jeffery, Royal, and White combined this year. I actually applaud Pace for his timing. He got out before it got really bad, but the dysfunction was a lot higher than him.

TD, I am confused though. This entire offseason has been different, and something we have not experienced as Bears fans in a long time. The hiring of Pace was "different", the hiring of Fox fell into our laps and we have potentially the best coaching staff from top to bottom that we ever had (Fox, Gase, Fangio, Donatell, etc). We made some low risk high reward signings with McDonald, Foster, Acho, Rodgers, Montgomery, Jenkins, etc, and filled huge needs with McPhee, Royal, Rolle, and Ball. Now we head in the draft and get arguably the best player available filling a huge need in White, we lock down a gap in our new 34 front with Goldman, and then get our new Olin Kruetz in Grasu. To me I don't know what more you could ask for as a fan within the limits of reality. What specifically do you have issues with?

So it would either be CB-LB-S or S-LB-Other in the last 3 rounds.
