Week 17 Official Game Thread ATL @ CHI, SUN 12/31, 12PM, CBS, CHI -3 O/U 38

Featured Replies

The Bears and the Falcons, cue the Spiderman meme.

Both teams are super inconsistent week in and week out. The Falcons beat the Colts 29-10, a week after losing to the Panthers 9-7. They beat GB 25-24 but lost to WAS 24-16. They beat TB 16-13, but lost to ARZ 25-23. They may be the most jekyll and hyde team in the NFL.

Both teams still in the hunt with ATL at 7-8 looking to get to .500 while the Bears are hanging on by a Bear claw at 6-9, looking to get to 7-9.

The Flus defense is a lot like the Colts who just got torched. The O/U is only 38. I expect it to be over 40.

I am going to say Bears 24-18 (Bears can't win when opponents scores more than 21).

Neither one of us are good teams, so you have a lack of consistency. We are good against the rush , it was 93 even with a good rushing QB today. That will force them to throw. Atlanta had 177 yards on the ground today, if we hold under 100 , they will have a hard time beating us with the pass. Only 6 passes out of 23 went to WRs today. Everything will be throw underneath and you will have game like today. Fields will need to win it for us.

ATL looks a lot like ARZ, a good TE and RB, but that's it.

Playing in CHI will help the Bears. A dome team playing in 30 degree temps is never fun. Game time temp projected to be between 33-35.

I am just hoping for a good game from Fields, and no more injuries. Regardless if Fields is the man or gone, him playing well puts the Bears in the best position to win next year. Either he take off from there and improves even more next year, or his improved performance makes a trade for lucrative in a return.

I was really close with the score for the Cards game. I feel like it will be similar, Bears 24-13.

ATL is 25th overall in DVOA, 24th on offense, 19th on defense. This is a game the Bears should win.

Stats tell a story but anyone can beat anyone. It happens all the time. We need to run the ball well and be ahead on TOs and we will win the game. Hopefully Kmet and Moore play.

Absolutely, it would be nice to close out the last home game with a win and momentum going into the GB game.

And the backstory gets better.  Their top QB choice is not Wilson.

Russ is 35.  He's not worth half of what Fields is worth.

true! Thank god Ryan Pace didnt manage to convince the Seahawks to take our THREE first rounders for him. We begged them to do it, and Pete Caroll said no at the last minute. What a bullet, dodged.

This offsesaon is going to be more interesting than the regular season with all the teams needing QBs. Read a story where Washington wanted Williams, as of now, they pick 3. So we trade back to 3 and we could still get MHJ, a second and nexts yrs #1 and a second. Who can we pluck from ther roster?

Not a chance MHJ get past Arz at 2. Best to hope Arz wins to drop

Unless Arizona trades out - but this is actually really interesting. Because that is a scenario where if you are Bears and 2 qbs rate similarly and you have confidence Az isn’t trading out - you can move to 3 - get a future 1st plus maybe Washington 2nd this year and next year or maybe a very good player instead of the 2nd? I think I would be a-ok with that.

yes. and I wish we were still picking #4 too for similar reasons.

Does anyone else find it interesting that Cleveland in the last 2 games is an offensive juggernaut 36- 34 at halftime and they could only manage 20 points against us?

The Bears defense is rolling, with most other offenses in the NFL, the Bears are probably undefeated since trading for Sweat.

If no one has time to watch the game on Sunday , you can watch it now.

That is one ugly sim, but based on the ARZ game, I wouldn't be surprised if it turned out like that.

I think its funny how the outside world precieves the Bears.

Most of the media loves the defense and just knows the offense is stuck in neutral and doesn't know why.

The Falcons arec 2-5 on the road, lost to Washington, Carolina, Arizona, and Tenn . They average 12.5 points a game away from home..

Gross. That is some bad football. 3 of those teams play outside.
