Anyone else digging the new Metallica album? This is everything St. Anger was supposed to be which failed miserably. I think of Anger as the potential good album that never was. Finally Metallica is sounding like their old selves again. Just wondered if there were any other fans on this site. I'm working on an acoustic cover/interpretation of The Day That Never Comes that I intend to record in Garage Band. Some this stuff would make nice background music for some Bears highlight footage.

Neither candidate really did a a thing. Biden kept his cool and only attacked McCain. Palin, rarely answered the question and instead read prepared little speaches on every subject making her look better than in interviews with Katie Couric. Overall, I think Biden did kind of win...but he didn't blow her out the water. Personally, I felt about zero sincerity from Palin...but I'm sure those that were already fans, liked the preformance. Overall...a draw.

Maybe his immature antics costs the US Navy over 100 lives on that fateful day? Do I believe it? I don't know... But it's a question I want answered. Right Ashkum? "I want the truth!" "YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH!!!" Lot's of things out there to wonder about with these candidates. Seems bringing up the whole "Obama is a Muslim" thing at this point might open a can of worms for McCain. If they can ask questions, is it OK for us to do the same? Can we ask about the Forrestal? The Keating 5? His graduating at the bottom of his class at Annapolis? His being shot down while flying below his ordered altitude? His crashing of 3 other jets but…

Some time back, I gave a quick "first hand" (me being from Alaska) perspective of Governor Palin and the full story of Troopergate and other news tidbits. Now, those of you in Illinois have a bit of a story your own with your Governor Blagojevich. So is this something that has been getting local attention for some time? I recall some of you expressing frustration with Obama when he was in the State Senate. I am curious what some of you may know, if anything more about this story. As Paul Harvey used to say..."And now you know, the rest of the story."

I've noticed many of you guys are from places like Ireland, Sweden, Chile, Arizona, Los Angeles, etc. I was just wondering you became Bears fans? Were you born here then moved due to money issues or a new job? Or was it a choice growing up to just pick a team and it happened to be the Bears?

Looking for some good open ended strategy/adventure type games for the Xbox360. The type of games where you have free reign to do as you please for the most part and can pick your own path/goals instead of being forced to follow one preset path. One game I'm looking at is Fallout 3 which I've heard good things about. I picked up a copy of Sid Meir's Civilization Revolution and I've been hooked on that I like games that have depth and many choices and the choices you make have an effect but also provide multiple paths to victory. I'm by no means an avid hardcore gamer, I'm not to big on the first person shooters and overly complex games drive me nuts. After 12 …

For those who can stand heights, the new "Ledge" that will allow visitors to the Sears Tower Skydeck to look straight down 1,353 feet opens Thursday at 9 a.m. The Ledge--actually enclosed glass boxes--extends about 4.3 feet from the building, according to the Skydeck Web site, and is touted to provide "never-before-seen" views of Chicago. First opened in 1974, the Skydeck attracts about 1.3 million people annually. The 1,500-pound glass panels used in the Ledge's construction on the 103rd floor of the skyscraper were installed by MTH Industries, the same architectural metal contractor that installed the Cloud Gate sculpture in Millennium Park, accordi…

Here is a breakdown of the Chicago Bears in Madden 2010, includes ratings and some analysis on how to use the Bears in 2010. I look forward to actually using a QB that has accuracy as opposed to years in the past using Orton/Grossman. With Cutler + Forte + Hester + Olsen....this offense is going to be amazing. http://www.chicitysports.com/2009/08/09/ch...in-madden-2010/ Zach Bowman is only a 53 ovr....I definitely see EA upgrading his ovr via roster update through out the season if he continues to play like he has been in the training camp. Bears are going to be a legit team to use in Madden 2010 I think.

A woman pregnant with triplets was walking down the street when a masked robber ran out of a bank and shot her three times in the stomach. Luckily the babies were OK. The surgeon decided to leave the bullets in because it was too risky to operate. She gave birth to two healthy daughters and a healthy son. All was fine for 16 years, and then one daughter walked into the room in tears. 'What's wrong?' asked the mother. 'I was taking a tinkle and this bullet came out,' replied the daughter. The mother told her it was okay and explained what happened 16 years ago. About a week later the second daughter walked into the room in tears. 'Mom, I w…

(1) Obama's good friend, unrepentant Weatherman terrorist Bill Ayers, whose terrorist group committed so many acts of terrorism that even included deadly bombings, held one of Obama's first fundraisers in his (Ayers') home. (2) As board members for the Woods Fund, Obama and Ayers raised $75,000 for Palestinian spokesman and fundraiser Rashid Khalidi, who was a spokesman for the PLO. (3) Hamas has endorsed Obama for president. (4) Libyan master terrorist leader and dictator Moammar Gadhafi supports Obama for president. (5) North Korean dictator Kim Jung-il supports Obama for president. (6) Marxist Nicaraguan strongman Daniel Ortega, leader of the i…

This is huge. To have a GOP paper like the Chicago Tribune endorse a Democrat for the first time in history this week was big. But I think many could discount it because he's the home town guy. To have a Texas newspaper and Colin Powell, probably the most respected voice in the Republican Party, endorse Obama is incredible. Here is a link to the Houston Chronicle endorsement. Colin Powell will be on Meet the Press later today. The show is already taped and you can view the details, including video of his endorsement here.

Elections have consequences. Thank GOD! Link Obama Positioned to Quickly Reverse Bush Actions Stem Cell, Climate Rules Among Targets of President-Elect's Team Transition advisers to President-elect Barack Obama have compiled a list of about 200 Bush administration actions and executive orders that could be swiftly undone to reverse White House policies on climate change, stem cell research, reproductive rights and other issues, according to congressional Democrats, campaign aides and experts working with the transition team. A team of four dozen advisers, working for months in virtual solitude, set out to identify regulatory and policy changes O…

http://www.virtualsportsnetwork.com/2009/0...-10-screenshot/ What do you think? I love the realistic player models, in years past the QB's are the same size as LB's and their arms look like hocks of ham. The player sizes look more realistic. Also notice the refs, chain gang, stuff on sidelines, I am not sure of EVERY new feature there is but Peter Moore & EA said 6 can be seen in the screenshot.

Not to sounds harsh, but as I've read, the Los Angeles and California taxpayers are footing a serious bill for the Jackson funeral. From my understanding, it sounds like it should be a cost that both the Jackson family and the promotion company, AEG, should be paying. The Staples Center and surround Theater hold about 25,000 people at best, and my understanding is the Jackson family had about half that held for them. it kind of almost sounds like a private ceremony and promotion. I just don't feel it's right in this economy for the taxpayers to be footing the bill when both the Jackson family and AEG have the means to foot this bill and are making money off it. The t…

Do you think I should make any changes to this lineup? I made a couple moves placing Calvin Johnson back at WR in place of Holmes, and placed Ray Rice back to RB in place of Joseph Addai. Here's a screen shot of my game center. I am one player short but I have made a waiver claim on Percy Harvin. I probably should have picked up Armandola or Lance Moore, both were picked up while I was waiting on Harvin to clear waivers. Now if he doesn't I won't get Harvin or either of my two second choices. Had I picked one of those two up and placed a claim on Harvin I'd have been in a better spot should I not get Harvin. Live and learn I guess.
