This is a must win, beat the teams you are supposed to beat. Bradford is brutal and probably won't last a quarter. Johnson does not look the same since coming back from injury and Fitzgerald is the only receiving threat. I want to see a full game this time, with significant progress for the offense and Trubisky. After seeing Mayfield come in and play like he did, there are no more excuses for Trubisky, especially against this defense. I would like to see another step from Roquan and see the team close another game out. Bears 27-10

We are all victims of horrifically run years in the past. So, many can have an inclination to micro-manage and see so many issues and problems w/o seeing the big picture. I'm guilty of it for sure. That said, I really just wanted to take a step back and count our blessings as a Bears fan. Besides our storied history, great city, and rabid fan-base...what we are seeing now with this team I think it truly special. 1. We have a HC that's got potential. And he's up-front and honest with the media and fans. He's likable. He's surrounded himself with some good assistants too. Especially on the OL. 2. We have a DC that is excellent. Fangio has provided t…

https://ux.azcentral.com/story/sports/nfl/cardinals/2018/09/19/arizona-cardinals-sam-bradford-expects-play-faster-against-chicago-bears/1364309002/ Bradford said he’s willing to take more chances in the pocket and that, no, he isn’t fearful of re-injuring his unstable left knee. “Yeah, I think there have been instances where I can help those guys out and maybe step up and climb through some of the traffic,” he said. ---- That's right step up into the rush. I'll be right at midfield, row 24 watching how it goes.

Bears scoring differential for the first 3 quarters: 30-6 In the 4th quarter: 17-35 So the team has allowed only 6 points in the first 3 quarters of the first two games (literally averaging 1 point allowed per quarter), but is giving up an average of 17.5 in the 4th quarter. So opponent's offenses in the 4th quarter (17.5) outscore our offense for the entire game (16.5). I just didn't realize how dominant our defense has been. GB didn't score a TD until after the 1st minute in the 4th and Seattle scored one 5 minutes in. Some of this can be contributed to conditioning, etc, but I didn't like the Prevent defense Fangio called on Seattle's 99-yard TD drive on MNF.…

JJ Stankevitz did a good job breaking down our 4th quarter TD drive. I didn't even realize we never had a 3rd down on that drive. All the way down the field it was a first down every two plays until we scored. https://www.nbcsports.com/chicago/bears/bears-film-breakdown-matt-nagys-playcalling-shines-critical-second-half-scoring-drive-against

I took the time to watch the game again and I'll start my thoughts with the QB. I was a bit harsh on Trubisky in my other post where I said this was his worst game. He had the two picks and early on looked like he was trying to be too perfect or over-analyzing things. Announcers were critical of him for over throwing Jordan Howard in the flat in the first quarter but didn't acknowledge the hand of a defender that he had to throw over to top of. I don't regret at all the chance he took with Robinson when it was a foot short. In time he'll have a better feel for that throw. For the second game in a row he led the offense right down the field for a TD to open the …

Browns just cut Gordon, is he worth the trouble for a buy-low flier? Will someone pay him? To me, his drug issues scare me away and I'm sure that's what pushed the Browns over the edge. Worth the discussion, at least.

So here we go, game two of the early season and our team is 2-0 for prime time (not wins, just appearances). The first game at home in front of a friendly crowd with all our new toys. Seattle is a mess in so many ways . It makes me personally happy to see Pete Carroll wince in agony when his team isn’t doing well. I suspect (and hope) we’ll see a lot more of that next Monday. How will Trubisky do with a weeks worth of game time and more practice/preparation under his belt? Will Nagy manage the game a little differently (smarter) than last week? Will Smith get more playing time this game (as he should)? Will Mack solidify his hold of 2018 Defensive Player …

Nick Kwiatkoski was a step too slow on many plays sunday night. On one play he made a great read, shot the gap and was in a position to make a tackle for a 2 to 3 yard loss. Instead the RB just ran right by him for 8 yards. If Smith makes that read he's not getting ran by with his speed and quickness.

It was frustrating watching Kwiatkoski chasing helplessly after Packers' receivers play after play. Seattle's Oline has issues and we should be able to get pressure early and often on Wilson which means he'll be scrambling. Smith's speed is a must have.

After taking day to catch up on some games and performances around the league I have a sense where the Bears fit in. I see all the angst about our loss, mine included, but I don't think a single new Head Coach won their first game including the one who has won a Superbowl, John Gruden. All these teams are in different states of repair but among this group we didn't fare so poorly. There is a learning curve for all new HCs and their teams. We need to keep that perspective as over-reaction Monday fades into the distance. After looking around and seeing the Raiders, Lions, and Cardinals play. The Giants have plenty of star power and didn't look so good either. …

About halfway through the game I commented to my son how much white space Nagy had on his play sheet. And he did have just a single sheet with plays on both sides. In contrast McCarthy was walking around with at least 2 sheets, maybe 3, and they were full on both sides. I expect that white space gets filled in more and more each week. Obviously there's a difference in QBs but in the end what we saw was one team learning a new offense and another where their QB has been doing the same thing for 14 years. That defense threw a ton of looks at Trubisky and the offense. I hate losing but it's great to get that on film for everyone and it will help over the next c…

Now that we know what the Bears roster will look like what are your expectations for the season. I will be surprised if they are less that 9-7. They have retooled their entire offense. Not one of their top four wide receivers and tight end were on the team last year. And they played in an offense that was stuck in the forty's. You bring back a defense that was a top ten with two new young players in Smith and Mack. A new head coach who is suppose to be cutting edge on not only scheme but also play calling. How does that not translate to four more wins? I know we're in a tough division but what do the Lions really have. And take away Rodgers and the Packers are b…
