We are looking for two new people to join the TalkBears $25 keeper league. This league has been going on for close to 10 years and is always very competitive. We use Yahoo and collect league dues with Leaguesafe. 1st gets $150, 2nd gets $75 and 3rd gets their entry money back. Currently, the keeper rules are you are able to keep any player as long as you drafted the player and they are on your roster at the end of the season, you didn't draft the player in the first round and you didn't keep the same player the year before. You lose the pick from the round before you took that player the previous year. So, for example, last year I drafted Dean…

Here we go...now lets sign the kid and get to the work of the playoffs!!! Ex-Lions RB Jones paying Bears a visit By David Haugh | Chicago Tribune reporter 12:24 AM CDT, July 15, 2008 Really, the Bears have been jonesing for a running game since trading Thomas Jones to the Jets in March 2007, a month after their last Super Bowl appearance. Can Kevin Jones help supply the potent 1-2 punch that has been missing since then? Apparently, the Bears are curious enough to take a good look at the ex-Lions running back, a former first-round draft pick who believes he can return to 1,000-yard form after two serious injuries the last two seasons. Wha…

BPA this year could become a reality. Some have floated QB and RB, but I honestly think it might mean the Bears go searching for their Von Miller prototype. Von Miller - 6'3", 254#, 4.53 forty, 33.5 arms, 37" vert., 10.6" broad, 6.7 3-cone Prospect A - 6'3", 270#, 4.70 forty, 32.75arms, 33" vert., 12" broad, 7.16 3-cone Prospect B - 6'5", 250#, 4.82 forty, ?? arms, 32" vert., 9.7" broad, 6.97 3-cone Prospect C - 6'5", 275#, 4.86 forty, 34 arms, 30.5" vert., 9.2" broad, 7.18 3-cone Prospect D - 6'6", 244#, 4.60 forty, 33.2 arms, 39.5" vert., 10.58" broad, ??? So who jumps off the page? The only thing that made my eyes pop were the 12" broad jump from …

So, the draft is over. We know where everyone was selected. Without imaginary trades, what do you wish the Bears would have done with the players available when they picked? 1st - Gabe Carimi, OL, Wisconsin 2nd - Stephen Paea, DT, Oregon State 3rd - Clint Boling, OL, UGA 5th - Quan Sturdivant, LB, UNC 6th - Greg McElroy, QB, Alabama

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/category/rumor-mill/ Bears sign Eddie Williams Posted by Mike Florio on March 10, 2010 5:44 PM ET Last week, fullback Eddie Williams was one of ten Redskins to be given his walking papers. The seventh-round pick from the 2009 draft thereafter cleared waivers, and he now has been signed by the Bears. The team announced this afternoon that Williams has been signed to a one-year deal. Williams was cut before the 2009 season began, and then added to the Washington practice squad. He was called up to the active roster on November 2. After being deactivated for three straight weeks, he was placed on injured reserve.

Per Jayson Braddock on Twitter. Bears have called, as have Eagles. Surely we would have to throw something else in in a Kaep for Cutler trade?

DJ Fluker: 6'4 7/8, 355 pounds, 36" 3/8 arms, 10" 1/4 hands, 87" wingspan. Think he's going 1st round now? Wow, impressive. Denard Robinson also has the biggest hands of any WR there.

From the Tribune: Chicago Bears Devin Hester willing to give up punt returns, just not immediately By Vaughn McClure It was interesting to see Jamie Dukes of the NFL Network rank Devin Hester the fifth-best return man in the league. Dukes said Hester would be No. 1 without the title of receiver behind his name. Wonder what Dukes and other NFL observers would say if Hester gave up returns, period? It could happen. The Bears star, who surrendered his kickoff return duties to Danieal Manning last season, said he would be willing to give up punt returns, too ... just not immediately. ``I think a return man simply has to be a return man,’’ Hester …

As per profootballtalk.com, in summary, Warner said he's staying in Arizona or retiring, and 1/3 of the teams in the NFL have interest in Leftwhich. This is news to Bears fans since after JA's state of the Union address, many of us have taken his comments to mean that Angelo will pursue a QB in free agency. Now Warner, the top QB in free agency, is off the market. That will drive Leftwhich's price up, since as PFT pointed out, there are a ton of teams in the NFL desperate for a QB. Early indications suggest there won't be a QB really worthy of the #18 pick. Anybody we draft won't likely provide immediate competition for Orton. I mentioned in a previ…

At first thought I would say absolutely. But then I started to think and the evidence might tell you a little something about Cutler. Take a look. Before Cutler came into the starting lineup in 2006, Brandon Marshall had 6 rec 76 yards 1 TD through 12 games. Throughout the final 4 games of the year when Cutler came in, Marshall had 14 rec 233 yards and 1 TD. Over the course of the next two years Marshall recorded 206 rec 2590 yards and 13 TD's. So who made who? Was it Cutler or Marshall? I think Cutler was the reason for Marshall's improvement. Tony Scheffler who was also drafted in 2006, pre Cutler, he had 6 rec 75 yards and 0 TD's through the first 12 games o…

http://blogs.suntimes.com/bears/2010/11/if...ot_miami_f.html If not Chicago, why not Miami for Hester's record? By Neil Hayeson November 16, 2010 7:33 PM | Permalink | Comments (0) | TrackBacks (0) Devin Hester prefers to break the NFL record for kick return touchdown at Soldier Field. His second choice would be in front of friends and family in the city where he played college football and near the southeastern Florida community of Riviera Beach where he grew up. Sun Life Stadium, where the Miami Dolphins will host the Bears on Thursday night, also happens to be where Hester returned the opening kickoff of Super Bowl XLI 92 yards for a touchdown, which he …

I have a thought for a trade and why they would do it. We liked Connor Cook and after a potenial dismal year Jeffery wont want to stay here. So we trade Ashton Jeffery and Logan Paulson to Oakland for : Connor Cook/R someone we liked Seth Roberts (32-480-5) in 2014 25 Mychal Rivera (clearly the #2 since they drafted Walford) 26 Roberts is just another WR but can take Ashtons place on the roster Cook and get valuable playing time while Jay is hurt Rivera is a clear better #2 than any we have. WHY OAKLAND WOULD DO IT: The prospects of teaming Jeffery and Cooper would be huge They still have Matt McGloin who is least a decent backup.…

The Bears can now trot out the following: QB: Cutler RBs: Forte, Bush WRs: Marshall, Bennett, Jeffery, Hester, Knox(?) TEs: Davis, Rodriguez There appear to be no excuses left over this year. What are your expectations for the offense? Top half of the league? Top ten of the league? What I do know is this: 2012 is the year we finally get to settle the age-old debate on TalkBears about whether amassing enough skill-position players can overcome a weak OL. Unless Webb has an epiphany, Louis turns better than average, Garza finds the fountain of youth, and the two high draft picks stay healthy, I think this will be yet another year where the Bears h…

I got to thinking that the Bears need lots of help on both sides of the ball. That requires draft picks. The Bears have none. So, which player(s) would you trade - in a realistic scenario - that could potentially bring the Bears a windfall of picks, and set them up for possible future success? Jay Cutler Lance Briggs Tommie Harris Devin Hester I think that's it. I think those are the only guys who can return something in free agency. Jay isn't going anywhere. Neither is Lance. Tommie is soured now, and might not be worth as much. And I think Devin is a little overvalued for the Bears, and wouldn't be worth as much on the FA market now that he c…
