There was an interesting article on the Chicago Tribune website entitled Scout Talk: Senior Bowl winners and losers that talked about the players who played in the Senior Bowl and which ones may be on the rise and which ones are falling out of grace with some of the GMs & scouts. One player we have discussed quite a bit in other threads was the first mentioned: A good article mentioning many other players, well worth the read for draftniks.

Really? You're still defending this clown? After multiple seasons and multiple games of horrendous decisions, atrocious clock management, and a complete inability to adjust in real time? Lovie must wear a diaper, because there's no way he'd make a decision to sit on the toilet early enough to stop the shit from staining his shorts. After taking day to catch up on some games and performances around the league I have a sense where the Bears fit in. I see all the angst about our loss, mine included, but I don't think a single new Head Coach won their first game including the one who has won a Superbowl, John Gruden. All these teams are in different states of repair but among this group we didn't fare so poorly. There is a learning curve for all new HCs and their teams. Last night shows just how important a good coaching staff really is. The Bears last year lost to GB 38-17 and 55-14. This year the Bears lost 31-23 and won 17-13. You cant say the Bears are more talented this year, they still have glaring needs on the Defensive side of the ball, the Oline is not preforming well. What has changed, there are some new faces, rookies playing well, Cutler has played really well but the biggest change is the Coaching. Bears start out as 6.5 underdogs. For a 5-1 playing a 4-2 team, you would think the spread would be closer to 3. This still shows that oddsmakers do not respect the Bears. I love it. The Rams just lost to the 49ers with Kittle and Samuel having success against the Rams defense. The vaunted Rams defense did not get a sack or turnover. The Path to the Draft episode today on NFL Network had a Bears War Room feature where they talk about the roster and picks in the first few rounds that they think would make sense. They've been doing these for all the teams leading up to the draft. It will probably be rebroadcast a few times in the next 24 hours, but I'm not sure about availability after that.

Not that this is something new, but it is interesting to see how the media reacts to two different losses this week. KC and CHI. So we lose to OAK in London with our backup QB and several other injuries to the same team that beat the Colts in Indy the week before. Those same Colts just beat the Chiefs in KC. So you would think, things like Power Rankings would reflect a similar outcome for the Bears and Chiefs. We both lost to middle of the road teams (both now 3-2), yet one did at home and one did at a neutral site. He’s tried to learn the offense as quickly as he can. He gives us some versatility as well because he can line up as a fullback for us as well as an inline blocker. He just has that mass. He’s got size to him. He’s probably the heaviest tight end we have. He could be both an inline blocker as well as a fullback for us.

I read this on cnnsi and thought it interesting: I'm wondering why, on goal-line plays, coaches don't occasionally defend big receivers like Johnson with a big receiver from their own team? Doesn't somebody like Dez Bryant have a better chance of beating Johnson on a "jump ball" pass?'' Roy Williams cant do jack on O....maybe they could use him on D. Lions favored by 6, the 4th biggest spread of the week. For how bad the Bears looked, the Lions looked worse in Week 1. For EPA/P for the offense and defense, after Week 1: Bears 23rd and 6th Lions 22nd and 26th The Lions defense was bad and lucky they didn't give up 40. The Bears were unlucky and gave up 27.
