https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2019/05/29/bears-trey-burton-out-of-otas-after-hernia-surgery/ Bears’ Trey Burton out of OTAs after hernia surgery Posted by Michael David Smith on May 29, 2019, 2:55 PM EDT Getty Images Bears tight end Trey Burton did not play in Chicago’s playoff game after he popped up on the injury report unexpectedly. That injury turned out to be serious enough that it’s still affecting him, almost five months later. Burton is not participating in Organized Team Activities, and Bears head coach Matt Nagy said today that it’s because he…

http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nfl-shutdown...-140847782.html This might have affected his play, especially trying to punch through the line on those short yardage plays. I just wonder if this was a known condition and they let him play hurt?

Bush won't play by Jimmy Smith, The Times-Picayune Staff writer Friday December 28, 2007, 1:37 PM Saints tailback Reggie Bush missed practice for the third straight day on Friday and has been ruled out of Sunday's regular-season finale at Chicago, Coach Sean Payton said. Early reports following diagnosis of Bush's torn left posterior cruciate ligament had his missing the rest of the regular season four weeks ago, though the Saints initially dismissed those stories as premature. Tailback Aaron Stecker was excused from practice to attend funeral services for his father-in-law in Wisconsin. Stecker missed Wedneday and Thursday practices with…

I am watching the Saints v Giants 2012. Bushrod is beast in run and pass blocking. On runs he has great foot speed and in pass blocking the only time Pierre Paul or Umenyora have gotten any pressure is Umenyora bull rushed him and had the advantage but Bushrod fought back and Brees was not touched. Webb would have been on his arse and Cutler being carried off. Only watched to halftime so far but left tackle will not be a concern next year on this performance. I remember last time we played giants Webb was killed. As a foot note Bennett was run blocking well and caught a TD and ran a good route.

Looks like they found Callahan's replacement. Hopefully comes in cheap. Update: not cheap, I do not like this signing. Skrine has been one of the worst CBs and most penalized CBs in the league. I don't know what Pace is thinking here. Over paid IMO. 3/$16.5 with $8.5 guaranteed seems steep for a perennial under performer. We will see what they get out of him but it seems like another Cooper signing.

I feel like this draft is going to be the most impactful draft since Payton and or the Butkus Sayers draft. The difference is the Bears' teams back then sucked. The Bears are adding to a 7-win team that lost 3 games they should not have, and now added two top 10 players. Comparing Odunze to guys like JSN and Olave, I actually prefer Odunze over those guys. He is going to learn so much from Moore and Allen. Bookmark this thread and come back next January when the Bears are playing in the playoffs.

From Don Banks' "Snap Judgments" at cnnsi.com: By some estimates, it's going to be a double-digit year in terms of NFL head coaching changes. But if there's any silver lining to all that impending turnover, it's that teams looking for an upgrade at defensive coordinator might find an unbelievably deep buyer's market to choose from. How so? Well, consider the potential defensive coordinator prospects if there's a bloodbath in the head coaching ranks: Wade Phillips, Romeo Crennel, Marvin Lewis, Rod Marinelli, Jim Haslett, Dick Jauron, Herman Edwards and Mike Singletary are all ex-defensive coaches who are thought to be in varying degrees of jeopardy. And then…

Some trolls here are having a sad. On the other hand, real fans can take heart in the team showing improvement each week. Frankly they looked better against the Packers in week 1 than expected and then had a few games where they looked like last year's version of the Bears. Recently they've played some teams who, like themselves, aren't in the top tier of the league. But a road win is solid regardless of the opponent. And the manner in which they've won the last two games has been impressive no matter if you love Jay or not. Putting together those "captain comeback" type of drives are exactly why the Bears paid him the big bucks. Unfortunately he can't pull a w…
