Figure I'd start a new thread just to capture some combine players who stood out to me. I haven't watched everything from day 1 yet and most of these guys I'll have to go find some film on. DT Dante Stills. Smooth athlete, maybe a bit of a tweener but could be a good depth option on day 3. DT. Calijah Kancey ran a 4.67 forty. Anything going on of interest? Looks like we have the fastest WR group (ever) with a ton of guys at 4.4 and below. I doubt Olave drops to 39 but some other guys around him surprised with some fast numbers.

I was looking over some stats and noticed a few things that got me excited. Regardless of what you may think, the Bears are closer to the 2022 Eagles than they are to the 2022 Bears this year. Jalen Hurts was in his 3rd year and finally broke thru with a new WR1 in AJ Brown. As of today, the Bears are not projected to be awarded any Compensation Picks. I do not like how they rated these because I feel like we lost a ton more than gained. Have to see what Hicks signs for and who else the Bears sign. Robinsons contract could get us a 3rd as long as it is 15.5.

We should find out by the third week of March if we will get compensated for our FA losses in 2007. What does Ryan Poles need to do so the Bears start getting some compensatory picks in 2025 and to regularly receive them in the future. It seems like teams like the 49ers know how to manage the system. What are we doing wrong?

Can someone explain what the Bears are doing wrong with getting compensatory picks. Is it purely down the the team drafting poorly or do we do something wrong in free agency that affects us getting picks. Is it we waive players early instead of waiting for them to hit free agency and sign with another team. If I was the owner this would be an area that I would try to manipulate. I may be wrong but teams like the Patriots, Raven’s and Steelers always seem to gain extra picks.

Monday 23, the NFL owners will meet in California. Usually they award the compensatory picks during the second day of the meetings, so it won't be long until we find out if we get a 3rd or 4th from Berrian. We will possibly get 2 extra 7th's also from the loss of Gilmore and Ayebadajo. This meeting will also be interesting to see if any info leaks out about how the owners will deal the the CBA and possible work stoppage. From what I've heard, they are planning on gaining more control that was lost to the players union in the last CBA. Hopefully out of it all, we have football and the put a cap on rookie contract.

The guy that succesfully projects the comp. picks for the draft has posted his projections for this year. He's having us getting a 4th for Berrian (maybe a third) and 2 7th rounders for Gilmore and Ayanbadejo.
