http://www.suntimes.com/sports/football/be...earnt11.article Selction: Injury report Wide receiver Devin Hester (calf) didn't practice again Thursday and would need a quick recovery today to play against the Packers. ''It's never a good sign when a guy misses two days of practice,'' coach Lovie Smith said. Hester had four catches for 90 yards against the Packers in the opener, including a 36-yard touchdown. But he had only one catch in each of the last two games -- for 20 and 48 yards. Left tackle Orlando Pace (groin) practiced on a limited basis but is expected to start. Linebackers Lance Briggs (knee) and Hunter Hillenmeyer (groin) and defen…

The more and more mocks I do, the more I believe the value in the draft is in the second and third rounds. I think the talent really falls after the 3rd round overall. There may be some winners here and there, but the 2nd round will be loaded, and the 3rd will still be pretty nice. Would you be willing to wheel and deal a ton to get multiple second and/or third rounders but end up with less picks in total? Bears' picks: 1.3 = 2200 2.36 = 540 3.67 = 255 4.100 = 100 4.106 = 82 5.131 = 41 7.195 = 13.4 -Bears trade down with NYJ to #6 (1600) who absolutely have to get a QB. Bears acquire the NYJ 2nd rounder 2.39 (510) and a 7th rounder 7.196 (13). …

Tillman, Alex Brown, Hester, Vasher, etc, AKA a non-first round steal for us. I'm going to say Harrison. He's an absolute monster when he's not an off the field nuisance. He is a big man and with Tommie drawing double teams, he could have a 3-5 sack year. Not to mention, when we took him, he was the best defensive player on the board. If not for his off the field problems, he would have been a mid-2nd round pick.

I sure do like what I see from Tremaine Edmunds. If he is in the middle, I think he can do a lot of things for us, and Fangio would know just how to use him. In zone defense, he'd be another Urlacher, and imagine how much more effective that would be when we arent in cover 2 all the time. In man, he clearly has the skills to stay with TEs and even slot receivers. In this day and age of college running QBs, he is a spy too. He has the speed and tackling ability to shut that down in a hurry. And hes long enough for pass rush and as sure an open field tackler as Ive ever seen. He would be an excellent chess piece for Fangio.

I opened and ran 3 FFLs last year for the Talkbears at Yahoo as I use to do at Bearstalk.. I enjoyed this very much as I have always enjoyed FF. However, this year, do to time commitments with family & job, I will be unable to run the leagues as I have in the past. I might have time to join one league but to be commish, just too much time involved for me this year. I think DrunkBomber said he ran leagues here in the past. If I am wrong, please forgive me. If he or others would like to open leagues for the forum I got an email from chitownman saying the Yahoo site is up and running (that is if you want to use Yahoo, some mentioned they would prefer other host…

Jerry Angelo and the Bears are really excited knowing they now have a QB that can get them back to the Super Bowl. With this new energy swarming, the players are also feeding off of it. It is now up to Jerry to add the remaining pieces to complete this task and keep young talent waiting in the wings to fill in for retirement/FA releases. My picks are: Rashad Johnson FS, Fenuki Tupuo OT/G, Zack Follett SLB, Johnny Knox WR, David Veikune DE With there first pick, which is RD2 Pick 49, the Bears will be targeting the following players: A.) Brian Robiskie WR Ohio State - At 6-3 208 and sub 4.5 speed, Robiskie is NFL ready with his route running ability and …

It's game day. I would like to see Fields and the offensive starters play at least 2 series and hopefully score on at least one. I want to see Fields getting the ball out quick with timing. Main players I will be watching besides Fields: Wright and Claypool on offense. The entire D-Line and Gordon on defense. The media is going to be so polarizing after this one. If Fields looks good as a passer, look out MVP. If he looks bad, he is a bust. There is no in between.

Don't flame me. I figured I might as well throw this out there just as a conversation piece for a while since these are slow news days. This Incarceratedbob dude is a bit of a wack job, but surprisingly has been right on many things NFL the last several years. He called the Mario Williams, and the Peyton Manning signings well before they happened. He also called the Brandon Marshall trade before many of the major networks got their information. Yes, he's been wrong several times as well. So at any rate, take this with a grain of salt. I found it interesting. We know that Phil is looking for WR help. Welker is up there in age, but you can't argue with his production.…

I decided to start a thread where we can discuss everyone's fantasy about what Kevin White brings to the Bears offense. The reason why I used the word fantasy is because he is being projected into a role that he has yet to to actually perform in. Projection, prediction and fantasy are all similar terms when it comes to sports(imo). When the Bears picked White I was extremely happy as much as I was when Jeffrey was drafted in the second round. WTBS Jeffrey struggled in his first season with injury and conditioning and White played 1 year at division 1 before getting drafted by the Bears and the scouting reports say he was only asked to run a couple of routes. Hopefully…

He has us taking Chris Williams and he has Mendenhall going at #15. I'd love it if we signed a guy like Max Starks, let St. Clair play left guard, and went after Mendenhall. It's not likely going to happen though. This was posted yesterday on ESPN INsider Miami remains mum on No. 1 overall pick By Mel Kiper Jr. ESPN.com (Archive) Updated: March 4, 2008 Comment Email Print A few notes from my second first-round projection for April's NFL draft: • The most notable change between my initial first-round projection and this one is that I have Virginia defensive end Chris Long going No. 1 overall to the Miami Dolphins. MARCUS ROBINSON RETIRES AS A BEAR Posted by Josh Alper on June 9, 2008, 11:16 a.m. In a move greeted with less fanfare than Brett Favre’s, wide receiver Marcus Robinson has announced his intention to retire as a member of the Chicago Bears. Robinson actually had retirement thrust upon him when the Vikings cut him on Christmas Eve 2006 after he criticized Brad Childress and others with the team. He tried to catch on with the Detroit Lions - Matt Millen never met a wide receiver he didn’t like - but they didn’t have a spot for him. Robinson spent three years with the Vikings and was with the Ravens for one season in 2003. Robinson spent five years with Chicag…

On either of these guys. I have been out of the NFL loop lately and recently heard that Cutler has been in an on again, off again situation with his new HC McDaniels(?) and recently is in a definite off again frame of mind? And, over in Philly I hear again the rumblings of McNabb possibly entertaining the idea of going elsewhere, especially with the recent loss of Tra Thomas (and other key players before). With either of these guys as potential(s) is there a possiblity of either coming to Chicago? I hear that both would be interested if the situation arose. If I had to choose, as much as I like McNabb, I think Cutler would be the better choice of the two …

Leno has gotten better each year but is still not even average. the only difference from Leno and Whitehair is the 2" difference in arm length, otherwise they are the same size player. I looked at last years OT class and the best OT were a little taller and they all had longer arms. The one closest to the size of Whitehair was T. Decker, his arm length is 1" longer than Whitehair. So here is what I think will happen, they will stick the best 5 OL on the field at the same time. The question that needs to be answered is how good is Grasu, if he is healthy and has become a good player, I think they move Whitehair out to LT. Whitehair played the position in col…

  20. Bears at home, favored by a TD, Lions coming in at 3-5 and having lost two straight. This will come down to which Detroit team and Matt Backwards Hat Stafford show up. This team beat GB, NE, and MIA (all the teams we lost to) and lost to MIN, SF, NYJ, SEA, and DAL. So I have a feeling that this game will be a little closer than expected. For the Bears, it marks a string of Divisional games that will ultimately decide the fate of the season. This is sort of one of the must wins, at home, a divisional game, with a fractional lead in the Division race and last WC spot. If Mack and Robinson are back, I say it will be a solid win (30-17), and without them, I still t…
