I like the Pats but I dont think they will cover the 14. It appears Rivers, LT and Gates are all playing.

  2. This is not good. White has not looked very good in pre-season either. If neither of these 1st round picks work out for Pace, he's not going to last very long here. These aren't the kind of things you want to be hearing about the #9 pick in the draft. I appreciate Fangio's honesty, though. Hopefully it doesn't take him that long to get in shape and he can produce, despite the skepticism.

In looking at which QB starts for us, I read about many things each does well, but that got me thinking. What traits are going to be most important. Downfield passing is one that so often comes up, but simply not what I consider all that important. In a perfect world, it would be great to have a QB that can connent deep w/ his reciever, but I just question how much of our game will be centered about that. We have Hester to run downfield, but beyond the WR, or even the QB, I simply question our OL. How many here believe we have an OL that can pass protect long enough to allow WRs to run deep routes. IMHO, if we try to allow deep patterns to open up, we will see a…

  4. I don't know if this was mentioned elsewhere, but I like the idea of getting as much professional assistance as possible. This looks promising, and since this panel was just formed, we obviously did not use it last time. http://espn.go.com/blog/chicago/bears/post...or-new-gm-coach

On either of these guys. I have been out of the NFL loop lately and recently heard that Cutler has been in an on again, off again situation with his new HC McDaniels(?) and recently is in a definite off again frame of mind? And, over in Philly I hear again the rumblings of McNabb possibly entertaining the idea of going elsewhere, especially with the recent loss of Tra Thomas (and other key players before). With either of these guys as potential(s) is there a possiblity of either coming to Chicago? I hear that both would be interested if the situation arose. If I had to choose, as much as I like McNabb, I think Cutler would be the better choice of the two …

IMHO the real postion battles that we should keep an eye on is the Oline. These are the players we have on the roster Roberto Garza C, Chris Spencer C ,Cory Brandon OT, James Brown OT, Gabe Carimi OT, A.J. Greene OT, Tyler Hendrickson OT, J'Marcus Webb OT, Ricky Henry OG , Lance Louis OG ,Nick Pieschel OG Chilo Rachal OG, Chris Williams OG Edwin Williams OG/C. Looking at these players i think from the start that Greene, Hendrickson,Henry,Brandon and Pieschel wont make the team...that just me. The GM spoke about Henry, Pieschel and Rachal so who knows...but I have a feeling that its going to be Williams LT, Spencer LG, Garza C, Louis RG Carimi RT as the 1st string,…

    1. Play calling on our side was poor. So many times in the red zone with nothing by FG's. Why run it in OT when you were moving the ball effectively through the air. Playaction... 2. Pass rush was non-existent. 3. Jay can't throw the pick in the red zone. Basically, this was the Lions' game. They were due for an uptick, and we were due for a downtick. It played out that way thanks to the refs as well. We still have a long way to go. But, we were competitive til the end. I just hate how conservative we went in OT. You just know the Lions were going to get something...you can't keep giving them a chance to win it. Coaching C QB B -/ C+ (t…

Since we now have another body to add to the mix. I think we should still resign St Clair and still draft a OT in the first round. We need as many bodies as possibe since we arent even sure Williams can play yet. So could this be our ofensive line? Williams, St. Clair, Keuntz, Buening, Oher with Omiyale, Beekman, and Garza backing them up. We cut Metcalfs ass.

  11. http://www.blogdownchicagobears.com/2009/0...ars-draft-hand/ That is Mike Wallace talking. Personally, if all of the other top receivers are gone by this point, Wallace would probably be my next top pick for a WR. I really like him. He has great speed (4.33 40) and quickness, and is a very explosive player. He is a legit deepthreat, but is kind of raw. However, he's got potential to be a really solid weapon in the passing game, and he's a great returner. Also, JA talked the other day about how they don't want a "vanilla cone" when they pick. They want someone with a swirl, some sort of twist. I thought that was a pretty good analogy, as I think it shows …

Not sure how it works with teams with worse records making the playoffs, but the Bears shouldn't be to much lower than the 16th pick. Here's what I'd like to see them draft. 1-16 Everette Brown DE FSU Bears sack totals have fallen off the charts and without pressure on the QB, this defense just will not work. Oguneleye has never lived up to his Miami days and will most likely be cut leaving a Brown/Brown combo at DE. 2-48 Phil Loadholdt OT OU With St. Clair's contract expiring, the Bears draft Loadholdt just in case St. Clair signs else where. John Tait, on the other hand didn't step up like expected when the Bears shifted him from the LT side to th…

I'm all in. I like the way this guy operates. Compiling draft picks. Smart moves, good budget, building for future years, picks with upside. He seems to be doing everything right. Who is NOT a fan of this guy right now?

  16. Bears DT Harris' stature continues to grow So let's say Urlacher and Harris BOTH have outstanding years, BOTH voted to the Pro Bowl, BOTH considered the best at their respective positions by the end of the year, do you think Urlacher remains the main "figure head" of the Chicago Bears or does Tommie Harris' surge in popularity and his more comfortable style with the media make him the new "poster child" of the Bears?

  17. I thought I read someone post about the Bears putting in a bid to buy the Arlington International Racecourse as a possible location to build a new stadium but I don't see it. I'm sure most if not all of you are aware of the story. There are some fans upset saying that they don't want the Bears renamed the Arlington Heights Bears.???? I don't understand where they are coming from. The Dallas Cowboys Stadium is located in Arlington, Texas, and they remain the DALLAS Cowboys, not the Arlington Cowboys. I'm sure there are other examples. I see no reason to believe the Bears would change their name. Agree?

I'm starting to hear rumors about free agent HB Nick Chubb going to Chicago. I've heard it from a few totally different sources, but no one yet like Adam Schefter. But it does make sense. One Cleveland reporter says he is hearing rumors that talks are heating up between Chubb and an "NFC North Team" without naming which one. It's a logical thing to speculate on. Maybe they are talking, still doesn't mean they will get a deal done, or maybe it's all smoke, i have no idea. But it makes sense. So I started watching Chubb's highlights, and as I'm sure we all know already the guy has been a beast. He was slowed down last year by a 2 year old devastating knee injury, and h…

I'm curious to hear how the majority of fans and AM radio guys in Chicago feel about Williams probably getting the nod over Bostic to start against the Bengals. I personally wanted the rookie out there to start and let Williams come in to spell him while he got his conditioning back a bit. How do you guys feel?
