I think we can all agree our OL has sucked this year and has been a key problem for our offense. Many have screamed to build the OL for years, and w/ the OL so bad this year and everyone talking about it, it seemed like our wishes would finally be granted in this offseason. Now I have to wonder. We played a lousy game Sunday and with NO coming up, keep in mind. NO has played 3 games at home. There only road game they had trouble beating a lousy team, TB 16-14 There strengths are our weaknesses, Graham and Sporles, but keep in mind we have Kromer on our team now. I think Kromer will give us insight that will help greatly. NO have never played well in Chicago. There are coming off a short week. So it's cutdown time. Who do we bring in for a look? Here are some guys I'm thinking about: Maurice Evans/Robert Henderson, DEs, Giants (Evans - 6'2" 264 lbs.; Henderson - 6'3" 278 lbs.) - The Giants cut Evans and Henderson...they've got a surplus of DEs already, and it's not like it'd be easy to beat Justin Tuck, Osi, or any of those other guys for a roster spot. Evans has a bunch of question marks - poor 40 at the combine, got arrested once for pot possession - but his 2007 season makes me think he should get a shot. First of all don't get me wrong. I am thrilled we are still in the playoff picture, and savor a close win against the number 1 offense in the league, but... Wow. Obviously a big loss for them, and a win for the Bears. Terrible WR draft class this year as well. Free agent market is meh as well.

The staff & JA has indicated they want Tait to move back to RT & they want Chris Williams to stick with his natural position, LT. That's great. (Assuming Williams doesn't suck. With rookies, you never can tell). They've also indicated they like St. Clair as the starting LG. That's great also. He looked solid there. What will keep me awake at night is this: Who is our back-up LT??? The easy answer is Tait, but then that would require moving St. Clair back to RT, and moving Metcalf/Beekman or some other crappy player in LG. That's WAY too many moves. Basically we need a solid LT who can complete with Williams or fill in the back-up role.

So, now that we see a window of hope opening up, and with Nagy and Pace still scrambling to secure their jobs past whatever bubble they've created from this draft, it might be time to add some quality free agents to put us in the hunt. And there are quite a few good names still available, and since the cap shrunk, they will likely be lowish money short term deals. Especially at EDGE, DB, and OL I just saw this, and a lot of these players could really help. Add two, and we are looking kind of dangerous.

Just saw that, while maybe not official, Carroll may have just hired Alex Gibbs to run the OL in Wash. That disgusts me. I have wanted to add him for years, and he would have been a tremendous addition. He was a FA, so to speak, and it just sucks that we could not get one of the best OL coaches in the game.

Marlon Brown Hasn't played in a reg season game 2015 2013 undrafted FA. Had a back injury in 2015, signed to a 1 year deal to the broncos but was waived after another back injury. Later resigned by the broncos and released again in 2017. Seems to be a camp body.
