A few quick questions: 1) Do you think the Bears will draft a TE? 2) Do you think they will draft him in the first four rounds? 3) What stats do you think Zach Miller, assuming he stays injury free, will have at the end of the year? The reason why I ask is, I really don't know how the Bears feel about TE and Miller. Do they trust him? Seems so since they resigned him and traded Bennett. But, as the detractors have said, he's not a spring chicken and he has had injury issues in the past. That alone should be enough reason to invest in a young TE fairly early. I honestly hope the Bears don't draft a TE early. I want to see nothing but Defense and OL …

I think our big contracts are our of the way but with the Bennett deal we got an extra 5 mil to spend here is who I still want to be here Jared Crick/DE 26 with 31 starts under his belt. Still has upside for growth. better than Jenkins that contributed last year. Will be very reasonable Scott Chandler-30 he is not a great pass catcher but a very good blocker. To make a complete position for that spot we need a good blocker. Rashad Johnson-30- 3 years younger than Rolle and has some game Patrick Robinson- finally had a good season, was ranked in the top 30 CBs by PFF for depth Will Montgomery in case Gassu needs more time we have a comptan…

Bears made the trade finally. They will get a draft pick compensation, which is unknown right now. Sounds like they are flipping some picks. Wheeling and dealing continues: Bears are trading TE Martellus Bennett to Patriots for draft-pick compensation, league sources tell ESPN.

He got a 3 year 12 mil contract with 3.5 mil guaranteed. That is basically a one year deal. Not let me see, Freeman at the same money or Shea? Man did we win that one.

I've done a bunch of mock lately on fanspeak, and I ran into this one today that I couldn't understand. I definitely don't think this would happen, or would it be normal, but this would be an insane draft for a variety of reasons. RB or TE? OK, so it's pretty obvious TE is more important, but the class isn't that great. A lot of people believe TE's are being overvalued because there just aren't good ones. So, figure the round and then go one round later. The RB class, however, has some interesting talent. So, that leads me to this dilemma: What if Derrick Henry and Hunter Henry are both available in the beginning of the third? I like both guys, but I think Derrick Henry could be one of those Earl Campbell types, a guy who is going to easily average 4 yards per carry. He won't cause a ton of missed tackles, but when he gets a head of steam going, he's going to punish LBs …

Looks like John Fox places personality over production Email Facebook Twitter Steve Rosenbloom THE ROSENBLOG Recent Columns 1 of 91 JOHN J. KIM / CHICAGO TRIBUNE Bears tight end Martellus Bennett 9:57 am, March 17, 2016 It doesn’t matter whether you’re productive. It only matters whether John Fox thinks you’re all football, all the time, and nothing but football and don’t even think about writing a book or even reading one. That’s the message of the Bears reportedly trading their best tight end to the Patriots along with a sixth-round draft pick in exchange for a fourth-rounder. I suppose Fox feels better, even if his team…

Well, it's about time to start this discussion back up. We probably have a minor signing or two left, but otherwise the team is set. Remember, please do not submit another mock. No trades. Both include too many what-if scenarios. I'll fire up a mock, then everyone chime in with your thoughts, suggestions, recommendations, etc. List the players you hate at the round mocked, where you think specific positions need to be addressed. I'll try to stay out of it for the most part, and I'm trying not to interject what I want. I'm putting what I think the Bears might do based on their moves this offseason. This is the previous draft we all agreed upon: MOCK …

I'm all in. I like the way this guy operates. Compiling draft picks. Smart moves, good budget, building for future years, picks with upside. He seems to be doing everything right. Who is NOT a fan of this guy right now?

After the Bennett trade, and after the rookie pool, and including the ridiculous Alshon Jeffrey cap his, we STILL have 15 million to spend. The Bears have been good about spending the maximum amount. We typically annually do some roll-over where we have 5 million extra to spend each year. We have 15 million to spend and I can't think of a single notable free agent we need to worry about resining next year. How the hell are we going to spend 15 million?

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2016/...ing-with-bears/ We seem determined to bring in a veteran running back. I wonder if Ronnie Hillman will be an option if we don't sign Dunbar.

How do the patriots get a player and a second rd pick for chandler Jones when he , like Bennett, also is in the last yr of his contract, but yet here we are trying to trade a top 5 te and there's rumors that we may end up releasing him!?!?! That's bullshit... if you can't find a trade partner keep his ass until you do... and we sure as hell better not get hosed with a day two pick... I am so irritated now!! I mean seriously its chandler f#ckin Jones.. and he got a second rd pick and a player in return!!!! Wtf! Why do we always get hosed when we trade our good players... a 5th and a bottle of ky jelly and a corncobb for Brandon Marshall... is all we got... this shit need…

After farting around with 3 different attempts I'm settling in on this version: 11. Reggie Ragland ILB Ala I feel that this is a historic franchise for LBs and I believe that this prospect fits that mode. 41. William Jackson CB Houston He measured bigger and ran faster at the Combine and reportedly the Bears have interest. Don't be shocked if the Bears trade up, back into the first round to snag a player they like. 72. Braxton Miller WR Ohio St. I have always liked guys who are willing to change a position for the good of the team and perform decent in the new position. I'm convinced that Eddie Royal was a bad signing and after him we have UDFA buffet. Add this …

Massie is getting 6 mil per, Trevathan 7-8, and Tracy porter 5, that means we have about 26 million to spend. DE is still a priority and we need to figure something out with the TE position. How the hell we going to spend 26 million?
