Marc Mariani - WR - Bears At least four teams have shown interest in free agent WR Marc Mariani. Chicago is one of those teams. Mariani was forced into a bigger role last year because of injuries to Alshon Jeffery and Eddie Royal. He managed 22 catches for 300 yards over the course of 535 offensive snaps. Even in a thin wide receiver market, it shouldn't cost the Bears much to keep him.

We are well into the negotiating period for FA and I haven't found any rumors about Trevathan. Where does the NFL get this timeline? Last year between 3 and 5 pm is was announced the Bears signed Eddie Royal and Pernell. What I expect at 3:00 tomorrow: 1. We trade Martellus Bennett. It's probably a done deal but at 3:00 we can make it official. Jimmy Graham would be awesome. But probably a 6th rounder . . . 2. Danny Trevathan becomes official--we have the money and the scheme he wants. 3. Akiem Hicks--I think it's happening 4. As per multiple sources. He can still negotiate a long term deal until July 15th. This means he'll be attending off season workouts.

Colts sign TE Dawyne Allen to a 4 year deal. There goes one of few TEs on the market. 4 year deal worth 29.4 million. For those wondering how beneficial Marty's value is, there you have it, cause Marty is a lot better than Allen. McCaskey was on radio (today I think) and indicated based upon his discussions with Pace and Fox that they are still a ways away and this will be an extended process to rebuild the franchise from where it was and was going to take multiple more years. With that in mind, I think it makes it even more likely that you can't write-off the QB position for the Bears. It also points out why the Bears should be targeting as many potential playmakers as they could possibly find and when it comes to FA be picky that whomever you sign, either let it be a guy who is undervalued who you think has more upside than indicated or be someone young enough that fits into your longer term pl…
