Thought it was interesting to see where the books have the draft odds starting with the highest names tied to the Bears and than on down. NFL Draft position Over/Unders: Mason Graham (5.5) Will Campbell (5.5) Armand Membou (6.5) Sanders (8.5) Jalon Walker (8.5) Ashton Jeanty (9.5) Tyler Warren (9.5) Will Johnson (11.5) Mikel Williams (15.5) JihadCampbell (15.5) Tetairoa McMillan (17.5) Matthew Golden (17.5) Mike Green (17.5) Jayden Barron (18.5) Banks Jr. (18.5) Colston Loveland (19.5) Omarion Hampton (19.5) Jaxson Dart (24.5) Emeka Egbuka (29.5)

As the season closes, the Bears will be looking at these names and others to add to the 2018 roster. I targeted what should be the the focal point of OLB, OT, and WR at the 7,8, or 9 slot. They may surprise us with a CB, S, G or another position, feel free to throw more names. Is there a player that we cannot pass if a trade down offer arises? The Bears need to hit a homerun once again with 3 to 4 additions. Do they trade down for quantity or take the quality.

SoS will be computed after this week, so these are using last week's SoS, so we may pass Dallas for 8th after the games are computed: 1. DET 1-7 (7) 2. TEN 1-6 (30) 3. CLE 2-6 (14) 4. SD 2-6 (12) 5. BAL 2-6 (4) 6. SF 2-6 (1) 7. JAX 2-5 (19) 8. DAL 2-5 (6) 9. CHI 2-5 (5) 10. HOU 3-5 (23) 11. KC 3-5 (2) We play 3 teams on this list (SD, SF, and DET), 2 bad teams (TB, WAS), 2 great teams (GB, DEN), and 2 good, but beatable teams (MIN, STL). What is crazy is we could still technically win 7 of those 9 games and no one would question those wins, and we could also only win 3 of them and no one would question the losses. Such an odd season. Cra…

It looks like the top 3 picks are locked up. Then it gets interesting from 4-13. Based on our current record and SoS, we would draft 8th with the worst position being 13th and best probably 4th. 1. OAK 0-9 2. JAX 1-9 3. TB 1-8 4. NYJ 2-8 (5) 5. TEN 2-7 (9) 6. ATL 3-6 (31) 7. WAS 3-6 (13) 8. CHI 3-6 (12) 9. STL 3-6 (3) 10. NYG 3-6 (2) 11. CAR 3-6-1 (8) 12. HOU 4-5 (22) 13. MIN 4-5 (21) Top Prospects: DT/DE - L. Williams, USC QB - Mariota, ORE; Winston, FSU RB - Gurley, GA WR - Cooper, ALA OT - Peat, STAN; Scherff, IA; Ogbuehi, TXAM DE/OLB - Gregory, NEB; Ray, MIZ, Floyd, GA LB - Thompson, WAS; Beasley, CLEM CB - Williams…

I think I've mentioned this in the past too. The NFL has really screwed up. Making this a prime time event may draw them extra cash but I seriously doubt it's made their fans happier. What do you guys think? I used to have a Saturday party with multiple buddies coming over, shrimp on the BBQ, ribs, beer... It was an all day affair! A real tradition to kick off the start of spring. Now the first round is being held on the ferkin' Thursday night! Idiots. Some things are best left alone.

The more and more mocks I do, the more I believe the value in the draft is in the second and third rounds. I think the talent really falls after the 3rd round overall. There may be some winners here and there, but the 2nd round will be loaded, and the 3rd will still be pretty nice. Would you be willing to wheel and deal a ton to get multiple second and/or third rounders but end up with less picks in total? Bears' picks: 1.3 = 2200 2.36 = 540 3.67 = 255 4.100 = 100 4.106 = 82 5.131 = 41 7.195 = 13.4 -Bears trade down with NYJ to #6 (1600) who absolutely have to get a QB. Bears acquire the NYJ 2nd rounder 2.39 (510) and a 7th rounder 7.196 (13). …

Wanted to start a thread for updates on our draft pick signings. In past years we were quick to get all our picks signed. So far it seems we only have two of the 5 under contract. RB Tarik Cohen, and OL Jordan Morgan. That leaves Trubisky, Shaheen, and Jackson unsigned yet. Still time before camp and hoping these guys get signed soon. They've been at the offseason programs thus far so I'm not to concerned about them being under contract by training camp.

If this isn't an indictment of Jerry Angelo and Lovie Smith, then I don't know what is. http://espn.go.com/blog/nflnation/post/_/i...own-draft-picks I'm even more convinced every single person on this board would have done better making draft selections for the Bears. Finances, free agency, everything else? Probably not. But definitely drafting.

Unless the absolute second-coming of Walter Payton is available when the Bears draft at 3.26, they should trade the pick. Based upon randomness of https://www.first-pick.com/NFL/DraftGame.aspx and the draft trade chart, the Bears should be able to get at least two fourth rounders and something for their third rounder. Or some similar combination.

With today's win, the Bears cannot draft higher than the 9th pick. Now the scary part is there are a ton of teams at 7-8. That means if the Bears beat NO next week, there is a chance they could plummet in the draft. Looking at Strength of Schedule which is the 2nd factor in draft position, the Bears could slide all the way to 17. Now realistically, some of the 7-8 teams will win, so the Bears will probably do no worse than 14 with a win next week. With a loss, the Bears will be guaranteed something in the range of 9-12. Kind of bittersweet, because you want your team to win, but also want a nice draft pick. Here are the current records and draft posit…

http://www.cbs47.com/content/topstories/st...bd-e87f665c4b63 Heath was one of the best small school prospects in the draft and was one my favorites in the draft. I thought he would have been a real good fit for the Bears in the later part of round 3 as someone who can compete at RT/RG. Sadly, he has died. RIP and condolences to his family. Hopefully he died of some sort of natural cause, because you never want to see a guy ruin his name by dying from drugs and/or alcohol.

Found this highlight clip someone put together on the top DTs for the draft. So as we head to bowl season here's some names to watch for. This was put together before the college season started but still worthwhile. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1ymLcqEQKYI

It is that time of the year again with the Senior Bowl kicking off. Time to link players the Bears are interested in. 1-Danny Shelton DT Washington - Interview at Senior Bowl At 6-2 339, Shelton can be a 3-4 NT, he has burst to push the pocket and plays the run well. He finished the season with 88 tackles, 16.5 TFL, 9 Sacks, and two fumble recoveries. I take his sacks with a grain of salt, because 2 came week one against Hawaii, and then 4 against Eastern Washington. The interest could be legit as Paea is UFA and Ratliff who is older missed portions of the last couple seasons and rumors have leaked out they may release him.

It's that itme of year where I start digging into college prospects getting ready for the draft. I think we all know the top issues LT, DT, DE. I'd love to add a good 3-tech to this defensive front as I think that alone would be a game changer on our defense. Unfortunately what I've seen so far from draft prospects the DT class is underwhelming and we have no chance at the one elite DT in this draft who will go top 5, Peter Woods. That moves me to find Edge help and I'm working from top rankings off TDN's site. TDN lists Ruben Bain Jr. as top 10. I like his game but he does not seem to have any elite traits that would command a top 10 pick. Since we're defi…

After watching Texas and Ohio State, Kelvin Banks is not worthy of a top 20 pick. JT and Jack Sawyer has taken him to school The whole DL of Ohio State moved up the draft ladder. Jake Wilson/ OC has held his own against a awesome DL.

I'm in Colombia for the month and am just on my phone so i can't post a link but I just watched a Q Nelson highlights video. Can someone post the link? It was on twitter with thr tilte, Why the Bears can't pass up drafting Q. Nelson. He is a total stud. If Long is healthy cut ties with Sitton ( our best OL last year) He is 31 and missed 6 games in the last 2 years. Time to move on and grab the best OL prospect to come out of college in last 5 years, stated by one scout. I know it's just a OG but is a potential 8 to 10 year all pro prospect. Leno- Q Nelson-Whitehair-healthy Long-New RT ( my choice would be 2nd round pick Kolton Miller. STUD OL with attitude.…
