At the bottom of an article about Zach Bowman was this little tidbit about how Jon Hoke has changed our CBs coverage technique: ******************************************************************************** ******************** http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/footb...0,2983877.story Then came organized team activities, and the new emphasis on coverage technique that played into Bowman's skills beautifully. "We've done more backpedaling this year than I ever have in my life and that has helped me a lot," Bowman said. "They are teaching us to stay square for a longer period of time. Last year they were telling us to open up any time we felt threate…

Lately I’ve been feeling stressed about our offensive line (Granted, as I work in education, I’ve had more time than usual to worry about frivolous things). One thing that made me feel better is that as per SportsMockery & Brad Biggs, Alex Bars may be the reason we have no upgraded our offensive line: https://sportsmockery.com/2020/03/belief-is-alex-bars-might-be-keeping-bears-from-signing-help-at-guard/ He’d have been drafted if he hadn’t injured his knee and the Patriots wanted to sign him to their active roster last season. Realistically, we were never going to move on from Massie or Leno. We were too happy with them after the 2018 season, we have to…

  5. How about grabbing the center from the Saints , but we would have to give up our 2nd round pick. That would give us the option and move Garza back to LG. Brown should be developed by the time Garza quits. Just a thought.

Hester was just released by Atlanta and was curious what you guys thought about bringing him back? I know he's probably done and the kickoff is being phased out, but DEVIN HESTER, YOU ARE RIDICULOUS!

This is from the WTF department: 3/25: Laquon Treadwell said that the Bengals, Browns, Bears and Cowboys have shown the most interest in him. - Read more at http://www.walterfootball.com/nflrumors/te...J3yVQJggMKyL.99 The only thing I can think is that the Bears are keeping open the option to trade Jeffrey. For this to work they'd have to get a high 1st Rd pick. Can also be a little strategy toward getting Jeffrey to sign the deal on the table. Anyone else got any ideas on why we'd waste time on this smoke screen?

Suppose the discussion behind closed doors is contentious. Alshon is upset for one reason or another and he wants to move to NY to be with the rest of the former Bears (JK). Seriously though, what's he worth? Typically, franchise tag = two 1st rounders. I know the Bears are not in a position to rely on the WRs outside of Alshon, but suppose someone offered that deal? Or more? I guess what I'm asking is, what's the max value the Bears could conceivably get for Alshon? Is there a team that: A-Has enough future cap to take the salary hit, B-Is close enough to contending that AJ would be their conceivable difference-maker, C-Is deficient at the WR …

So maybe we were a little too hasty to let Slauson go after all. It looks like we could've really used his depth inside, especially if Grasu falters.

Someone had posted about this guy but couldn't find it anymore. See what happens when I'm on the road so damn much. I read Wes Bunting's take on this guy and I just don't know what to think about him. I absolute love his size, speed and the fact he uses his body well to shield defenders but Wes also mentioned how the guy is constantly hurt all the time, he shy's away from contact and when he is about to get hit he takes his eyes off the ball, the major problem that I have is that his hands are good either. I think what Cutler needs, besides an Oline that can protect him, is a WR like Brown who has the size but doesn't mind go over the middle but more importantly he ne…

Just wondering what people think of him in general. I always thought he was pretty overrated, but I don't watch a ton of ND games. The reason that I ask is he seems like exactly the kind of player the Bears would draft, like they did with Garrett Wolfe last year, where he's a guy who has got a ton of attention in the area and has a high "name recognition" value at a position we are obviously hurting at. I would not be shocked to see Angelo draft him at the end of the third round. Is he as overrated as I think he is, or am I missing something?

FREE AGENT UPDATE: WLB Lance Briggs is history, even though he's a productive player, he's not getting Brian Urlacher money from the Bears, and his off-the-field problems with driving and paternity haven't helped endear him to the organization. WR Bernard Berrian had a problem with drops in the first half of the season, but he put up impressive numbers considering the QB situation. Chicago would like to have him back, but the feeling may not be mutual, and the Bears will not get into a bidding war for him. QB Rex Grossman may want a fresh start after the intense scrutiny he's had to deal with for the past two years. If the price is right, the Bears will keep him…

http://www.profootballtalk.com/category/rumor-mill/ SIX WEEKS FOR SATURDAY, OR LONGER Posted by Mike Florio on August 27, 2008, 7:51 p.m. Colts center Jeff Saturday is expected to miss the first six weeks of the season after partially tearing a knee ligament during Sunday night’s preseason game with the Bills. Per the Indianapolis Star, Saturday will miss even more time if he decides to have surgery to repair the torn MCL. His agent, Ralph Cindrich, told the Star that Saturday will miss six or seven weeks without surgery, and 11 with the procedure. Rookie Steve Justice likely will replace Saturday, who’s entering the final year of his contract

I'm sorry but this team cannot win with a pedestrian QB. I like Orton but 150 yards per game will not work in the NFL. The D is outstanding but they cannot continually bail out an inept Offense. This going to be a frustrating season.. All u have to do is look around the league at teams scoring a bunch of points.

Health beat: Starting cornerbacks Charles Tillman (shoulder) and Nate Vasher (wrist) were limited in practice Friday and listed as questionable on the injury report, but both said they expected to play against the Lions. Booker (knee) was also limited and listed as questionable, while rookie left tackle Chris Williams practiced without restrictions and was listed as questionable. The first-round draft pick has been making steady progress in his rehabilitation from back surgery. “Chris Williams had another good day and he’s had a good week of practice,” said coach Lovie Smith. “That’s always good to get a player like that back into the mix.” http://www.ch…

He's likely to be fired at the end of the year. Mel Tucker is awful and should be fired the minute the season is over, although I am not very confident Trestman will see things the same way.. Lets assume Tucker is gone and Ryan is fired. Should the Bears try to get him as the new DC? I don't know if his personality meshes well with Trestman's but there's no question that Rex knows how to coach defense. Just a thought..

It's nice to find an NFL player (or any pro athlete) with a sense of humor in front of the media. I get tired of all the standard cliche answers to every question. http://espn.go.com/blog/chicago/bears/ The Bears' first-team offense has run approximately 30 plays in the preseason, hardly a large enough sample size to panic over Bennett not getting the football thrown his way. But when the regular season rolls around, Bennett promises that quarterback Jay Cutler will know when he's open down the field. "He sees me; I'm 6-foot-7, a big black guy running down the middle of the field. He sees me," Bennett said. "I wear white gloves so he can see the white g…
