One veteran lineman definitely won't be back as guard Terrence Metcalf requested and was granted his release. A third-round pick in 2002, Metcalf made 25 starts for the Bears. Was watching a replay of a recent broadcast from CSN Chicago(?) where a panel (to include Arkush) were discussing some Bears news. Mostly it was about whether the Bears would win this weekend against the Colts. Anyhow a couple comments from Arkush caught my interest. At least Martz did something once upon a time. Tice was the offensive line coach for a Vikings team that never accomplished anything. He was unspectacular as the Vikings head coach and bad as the Jaguars offensive coordinator. The offensive line has, if possible, gotten worse under Tice and Tice has given every indication that this is the group he wanted to go to war with. Part of his job is to prepare the offensive line to perform on game day, and he has shown no ability to do that. Do the players have to perform? Absolutely. But I've seen no indication that he has had any kind of positive impact on this team. Time to clean house, boys. Get rid of Tice…

We got a taste of our own medicine tonight. Our offense against a legit D and we show how bad we are. Did Tice even realize what the weather was going to be like? Say what you want about the officiating it sucked in general but I would say sucked for both teams. My hats off to the Bears D as they fought all game kept us in this game... We lost 13-6.... Since Lawrence Holmes is one of the few Chicago guys I really trust when it comes to the Bears, I made it a point to catch him this afternoon on 670. The defense has been faultering lately but over all in the season it is still in the upper end of the league. Considering the lack of offense in many games, they showed fatige at the end of the game. Begining the yr Pickens was injured and just starting getting snaps the last few games. Sweat and Darrell Taylor have been fighting injuries most of the yr. Terrell Smith missed most of the season and Jacob Martin started the season on IR. Injuries are part of the game but only being 2 and a1/2 seasons into a complete rebuild, the roster in not up to speed yet. Kyler Gordon was out several games also.
