We are rebuilding folks. Ive never seen out WR corps as depleted as they are right now- and they are most likely going to get worse when Berrian skips town. We have 1 unproven injury prone WR in Bradley and Hester who even if he becomes great diminishes our Speacial teams which has saved us in the past. Then our Oline blows even more now then at end of season we lost 2 starters and word is we are not going after any Marquee names in that field. No Fanaca. Our D line has been injured. T. Harris coming off major injury as is dusty devorchak. Ogunleye while he had a great season is one year older and A. Brown was just paid so who knows whether he will …

  4. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/category/rumor-mill/ Alex Brown joins the Saints Posted by Gregg Rosenthal on April 7, 2010 4:47 PM ET After dumping salaries and familiar faces leave town, the defending Super Bowl champion Saints have signed a significant free agent. (Apologies to Zak Keasey.) Defensive end Alex Brown agreed to terms on a two-year contract, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Signing aging linemen rarely works out well, but Brown's solid reputation remained intact last year in Chicago. He will help the Saints defend the run at a clear trouble position on the team. We still expect them to draft a defensive end early, but Brown …

Regardless of how often the Bears run the cover-2, we can all agree that the cover-2 serves as their primary defense and the rest of the time it's just a variation or modification from the base. Having said that, it seems that every team in the NFL realizes the Bears are going to do the following most of the game: 1] Keep LBs near the LOS at the snap 2] Keep DBs 5yds off the WRs at the snap 3] Keep Safeties deep That is a recipe for easy slants, curls, and square-ins. Those have burned the Bears for years. So, where is the change? What about the following wouldn't work from time to time? 1] Move the outside LBs laterally to step into the passing lan…

Remember, we (the board) have just chosen an OG in the 1st Rd so for building our team who do you want to pick in Rd 2? I'm listing Warford because it was entirely possible Long was chosen to be an OT. As we build our team for the future which player best fits our remaining needs and/or BPA as you see fit. For me the pick is Arthur Brown. With the board having gone OG in Rd 1 I feel we must get best talent available to bring youth to our LB corps. I was against taking him in Rd 1 because I don't think he has what we need to play MLB, but at this point in the draft Brown represents very good value and fills a need.

Over 250 yards of passing per game = win. In today's NFL, offense wins games. I'm so happy the Bears got rid of Lovie and his offensively-challenged style of drafting/coaching. Long live Trestman!

Play good enough to win but refs do everything in their power to help us with higher draft pick. Last drive was crazy, multiple ticky tack hiding calls, then a no-call against DET for DPI and we lose by 3.

So what gives with this guy? He has the same amount of receptions as Bobby Massie and Ryan Nall, 1. He is 11th on the team in receptions and has only been targeted 3 times all season and was not targeted against Atlanta. For a 2nd round pick, you would expect at least a little better production at this point. If you remember, there were some other TE names the team could've targeted, guys like Adam Trautman who was supposed to be a project, has 3 receptions for 34 yds, Harrison Bryant has 7-59 and a TD. Instead of Kmet, they had Antoine Winfield Jr. sitting there, Jeremy Chinn or even Antonio Gibson who looks great with Washington. Those were all pla…

NFL SUSPENDS METCALF Posted by Mike Florio on October 13, 2008, 5:38 p.m. The NFL has announced the suspension of Bears guard Terrence Metcalf for four games. Metcalf was suspended for violating the league’s policy regarding anabolic steroids and related substances. The suspension is effective immediately. Metcalf will be eligible to rejoin the team on Monday, November 17. Metcalf has appeared in each of the team’s six games in 2008, but he has started none of them. For his seven-year career, all of which has been spent with the Bears, Metcalf has 25 starts and 84 game appearances. http://www.profootballtalk.com/category/rumor-mill/

  14. OK, so let me get this said up front: I'm not giving up on the Bears after 8 games. They could still be anywhere from 12-4 to 4-12 (although god knows they look more like a 4-12 team right now.) However this season plays out, though, there are some serious personnel holes on this team. If you believe (as I do) that Lovie's keeping his job, this next offseason is going to be really key. So here's the game: you're the 2010 Chicago Football Bears, and you need at least two new starters on the o-line, plus maybe a new CB and DT, depending on your viewpoint. Problem is, Jerry Angelo traded away all your draft picks! Well, at least all the ones on the first day. Mayb…

Take a look at THIS and tell me if anything jumps out at you. I know, I know, I shouldn't pay attention to this stuff. But when they just saw the two teams face each other and they're ranking 10 & 11, you'd think they'd give the nod to the team that WON THE GAWD DAMN GAME. I hate sports writers.

From the Bears website: http://www.chicagobears.com/news/NewsStory.asp?story_id=4871 What were your impressions of Danieal Manning at the nickel position in offseason workouts? Danieal picked up everything at that position real quick. Now we have a guy playing underneath who has athletic ability, speed and quickness. He’s also a physical guy that we know can support the run. I’m very pleased right now the way he’s picked things up and progressed throughout OTAs. I think he’s going to be a great nickel for us. ****************************************************************** We all know the coaches aren't going to call out a guy in public nor do I wa…

New Orleans Saints wideout Marques Colston suffered a broken collarbone Thursday and will be out 4-6 weeks. With Marques Colston out for an extended period of time. With Colston out for a prolonged period and Lance Moore battling a nagging groin injury, the Saints top two wideouts from 2010 are down. The pressure will be on Devery Henderson and Robert Meachem to pick up the slack in the meantime. Which gives the Bears secondary a great advantage on Sunday.

Regardless of what we feel about the 3 picks there is one intangible to add to this mix and that is the Marshal trade. 1st Rd DE/OLB Not necessarily a scheme fit but this kid may force the Bears to diversify their scheme more. 2nd Rd WR Emery seems to like big physical WRs and gets himself one here and gives Cutler another weapon for his 29th B-day. 3rd Rd WR/SS Jay gets an engagement gift and Lovie gets his annual safety. The trade has to be included in this round of the draft since this was the result of the first 3rd rd pick via Carolina for Greg Olsen. BTW unless Idonije is going back to DT(I wouldn't be surprised by that) McClellin is not a 4 dow…
