At somepoint in yesterday's game he injured his shoulder and early reports have it being a serious with the expectation that he will be out for the year. With Matt Barkley, that game against the Niners becomes critical for the who will get the #2 overall pick. Unfortunately, I can't see the Browns and the #1 pick factoring into anything, because they have a tough remaining schedule and limited talent themselves.

I realize that it may seem waaaaaaaaaay early for this, but Yahoo has opened Fantasy Football 2010 for entrance. I'm wondering if people are interested in joining yet. It might just give us another time waster of football related things to talk about. I've already renewed the league Talkbears 2 and set a draft time of Sept 5th at 8:00pm. After sleeping on the loss, here's what comes to mind... 1. The obvious. Our offense is offensive w/o Cutty and Forte. Hanie is simply not a pro QB. He didn't lose the game for us yesterday. But he did the last 2 weeks. Barber ran well, except at the end when he forgot he had a brain. He failed football 101 twice. Stay in bounds, hold onto the ball. He cost us the game. 2. OLB Calvin Pace just signed w/ NYJ. 6yr/$42m w/ a $20m SB. Like Adalius Thomas, Pace was seen as an OLB in a 3-4 that can generate a pass rush, as well as play OLB. I realize Briggs could not have fit, but he can not be happy about this. Once again, I use this as evidence Harris better not over-play his hand. IMHO, a big reason the market was not there for Briggs is because he plays in a system that caters to his position, thus putting into question his ability to play in any system. When they were all throwing into the net from the goal post, he was slamming his hat down and laughing a little. That's good to see he's getting along with Hanie and Basanez. 2. The way the ball comes out of his hand is just so smooth and powerful. It seems like Basanez's throws take forever to get there, Hanie's are alright, and Cutler's are just on the money 100 mph.
