First off, let me just say this... I was pissed with Cutler's play this weekend too. And he has to get goddamn better or we're not going anywhere this season. With that said... Statistically Cutler is still a top QB in this league. Question what you want about how he handles himself during interviews or when you see him on the sidelines in the few shots of him we're shown, whatever. Facts are borne out by numbers. There's certainly room for improvement and he's got to get his head outta his ass on various picks but they weren't all his errors either. Marshall hasn't been 100% and he quit on one last week. I was looking something else up, and this came to mind. When was the last season the Bears had 10 or more losses, and how that compared to other teams? It has been 10 years since our last really bad losing season. Only the Patriots, Steelers, and Chargers have had a longer run. 1. Patriots - 2000 (3-2) - Brady 2. Steelers - 2003 (3-2) - Big Ben 2t. McCray is horrible in coverage and while I don't think Vereen is going to be any better to start with, I'd rather live with the rookie mistakes and see if he can learn. Fixing the safety position is going to be a big part of our offseason and I think we should give Vereen enough game experience to know where he fits in those plans. I don't see McCray being in our plans for next season.

I'm not really, but is it me or is this team missing someone who gets pissed off after a loss or playing like crap. A Mike Brown, Singletary, Hampton, or even just someone who seems a little mad. For all the fans that the sky is falling, get your thumb out of your mouth and be real. The fact is were not a good team or a bad team. I thought from the beginning of the season we would be 7-9 to 9-7 and looking bad against the Packers havent changed that . Injuries have already affected us. Brandon Marshall is the catalyst to this offense, and until he is healthy we will sputter. Two OL out, the others have filled in well. Two DL out which has caused a lack of pass rush which put our DBs in jeopardy. We have filled Peanuts role but where the problem now is the nickelback spot . When will we find an identity? Maybe it is what the media gives us, but it seems we don't have a leader on that side that rallys the troops. When the defense takes the field, we should be on the edge of our seats. We should see LBs mug the line, question the O with alignment movement, and consistant attacks from different personnel. Besides Fuller and Young, who else has shined? Maybe Kyle Fuller develops into that leader vocally and performance, but I would like to see a MLB or S since they are usually calling the alignments and blitzes. I have bad mouthed Trent Dilfer for many years due to his Jay Cutler hate. Well pigs must be flying or I just hear Trent praise Jay Cutler. Trent raved about the new Jay- said if you watch the game film he is doing the right things, reading Defenses, mechanics etc etc Puts him right on the fringe of the Manning, Rodger, Breese and Brady level of QB's.
