Hypothetical here, let's assume Trestman is gone at the end of the year and the Bears have to hire another coach. Which guy is on your radar? The list isn't nearly as appealing as it was 2 years ago. The up and comers: - Todd Bowles (Cardinals DC) - Pep Hamilton (Colts OC) - Darrell Bevell (Seahawks OC) - Adam Gase (Broncos OC) - Dave Toub (Chiefs ST) The retreads: - Mike Shanahan - John Gruden - Bill Cowher Current NFL coaches that might be looking for a job: - John Harbaugh - Rex Ryan - Mike Smith College coaches: - Kevin Sumlin - David Shaw - Brian Kelly I'm sure there are others I am leaving off, but the…

Sadly, I have to start looking at how we fix this mess in the offseason or the emotions of these losses will really make me depressed. I've said fixing the pass rush is the top priority for us in the offseason. Safety is in the mix too. However, what if the value isn't there when we pick in the 1st Rd? When you draft early in the first I think it's imperative that you grab a blue chip player period regardless of needs. If that blue chip player fits a need all the better but regardless, you always take the elite player when the opportunity presents itself. Draft Tek has us picking a LT, Andrus Peat, from Stanford. I know they are using computer simulations …

I've been thinking about how we really don't know who's running the Bears. How is NE set up, you see Kraft on game day but is he hands off? GB what's their chain of command ? Baltimore how's theirs set up? Pittsburgh , are the Rooneys hands off?

For those that are actually watching the game. A win keeps our slim playoff chances alive (winning out and having DET and DAL both go 1-3, and SF 2-2). Otherwise a loss eliminates us from the playoffs and keeps are draft position intact.

This is not who you want, but who do you think Emery will select as the next HC? I an interested to see who the top 3 will be, and if it is in line with what I believe.

Apparently Gould is hurting and may not be available for Thursday... Also heard Jeffrey hasn't practiced. Is listed as questionable...

Bears will likely finish season at 6-10 and pick in the top 10 (Projection based on us losing to Lions / Saints / Cowboys and beating Vikings). We started last year 3-0 and finished at 5-8. If we do end up finishing at 6-10, that means in the last 29 games, we would be 11-18, which would be good for a .379 winning percentage. If you look at his overall projected record (14-18) with a .437 winning percentage and a negative trend. I have a hard time thinking, given how things went, that there will be a significant argument to keeping Trestman around. This is a unit that ranks as follows: Offensive: Points = 22nd Yards = 20th Defensive: Points = 30th …

I just have a feeling that this is going to be brought up at some point. They will point to the injuries on the O-Line to Slauson, Mills, DLP, and Britton, and on the D to Peanut, Briggs, Houston, Conte, Ratliff, Fuller and say that those were the reason this team struggled all year with consistency. I hope not, but I see it coming.

I liked being able to watch it on the DVR because I could fast forward and not dwell on the bad or get too over excited with the good...Plus sadly a family member ruined the outcome for me despite me telling everyone not to, so the whole game I was set on looking at why we lost the game. First and foremost the offensive playing calling continued to look scared for the most part. That's exactly the word that needs to be said when labeling the offense. Announcer said at one point that it looks like the Bears were looking to set the record for swing passes. I get it to an extent but one thing that I really don't understand why they didn't continue to do after the M…

Or I should say I won't care if we do. I know the coaches and players will try everything they can to win as many as they can.

We've seen enough to know this team is a mid level stinker. The question remains as to what to do to right the ship. Here are some my thoughts. Organization: Starting at the top, Teddy needs to go. As stated in another post, I would shed tears of joy if Bill Polian would accept a 3 year post as team president. He would require total autonomy from the McCaskeys. GM: Emery stays another year, as he is evaluated by a president that knows what he is doing. Besides, he was left in a horrible cap, age and talent situation by JA and Lovie. Coaching: The axe has to fall on someone. It immediately needs to be Joey D. While his unit has improved over the co…

"Forte only had five runs, but we probably called 15 for him," left tackle Jermon Bushrod said. "When we got up there to run these plays, it wasn’t a correct look or we had too many people in the box or they dropped a safety or they did this. It’s a lot that goes into these plays that we run. If it doesn’t look good to the quarterback, we’ve got to go out to the edge." So why did they not call the run on the other plays instead of just passing the pall. That did no work very well so why did he not call a running play. They would not of gotten 150 or even 100 but they would of gained a lot more then they did. And some of those runs sould of been by Carey, I though…

Detroit is essentially holding the 2nd Wild Card spot, and a win on Thursday brings us to within 1 game with 4 to play, the head-to-head tie breaker, and another game in Chicago to tie up the season record. We still have to win out to have a chance due to Seattle, SF, and Dallas, but this would be a huge win and get us to 6-6. We hold the tie breaker against SF, and with a win against Dallas (next Thursday), we would own that one too. None of this matters with a loss which would take us out of the playoff picture at 5-7. Detroit has lost their last 2 games, and won the 3 games before that by a total of 6 points. They could easily be 4-7 without last second wins i…

I've been reading some good things about Al Louis-Jean and got curious about his background. I don't typically follow our UDFA signings as they rarely end up contributing but he appears to be on track to doing just that. (Christian Jones too). I figured I'd post some of the links I came across here in case others were interested. He's 6' 1", 190lbs and ran a 4.52 forty. He has the size and athleticism to play the position but he came out of college at just 20 years old and without making much of an impact on the field. He also had a couple disciplinary issues in his last season. A roadmap for any player who wants to go undrafted. In the last game when Ful…
