  1. Started by adam,

Thru 13 games it is clear that the roster is too weak to compete. At a minimum, they need a new LT, C, and RG. My assumption is they will keep Jenkins and Wright. I don't think Allen comes back, so they will need a new WR3, which is a need, but more like tier 2. TE2 is also in this group. On defense, they need a true Edge2, DT, CB2, and probably S. That is 9 starters or key contributors. For upgrades, they need to look at RB, LB, and rotational DT. That is 12 new bodies and we would be going into Year 4 of a rebuild. That is unacceptable in my opinion.

  2. Started by Stinger226,

The first order of business for the new coaching staff is to evaluate their own players and resign their free agents that they will want to keep or cut players under contract. Bates, because of injury, may not be kept. They know more about his problem and whether he is healed. If healthy he can be a competent backup or even starting center at which they brought him in for. 4 mil would be saved. Gerald Everett never had a role on this team but has a history of a contributing player. Kmet didn't get targets so obviously Gerald didn't either. We will have to see how the new coaches evaluate him. 5 mil would be saved if cut. Tyler Scott never showed up but can …

  3. He is on the older side - but relatively healthy player up until this past season where he tore his pectoral. Has a good relationship with Sweat and certainly could be an impact addition on the interior of the line. Prior to last year though the guy pretty much always played and generated a real nice pass rush from the interior. I would be very supportive of this move - sign him to a 2 yr deal with a 3rd year of dead money or something.

  7. Started by adam,

There is a good chance that the Bears top 4 franchise receiving leaders are currently on the team. Johnny Morris is #1 in Receiving Yards with 5059. DJ would need 2.5 more years with his average numbers to surpass Morris as the franchise leader. Then you have Odunze, who as a first round pick will more than likely get a 2nd contract. If he gets one, and just say he puts up his rookie numbers annually, he would surpass Morris halfway thru Year 6. Then you have Loveland and Burden. Both have the highest pedigrees of Receivers that the Bears have drafted (besides Odunze lol) since Alshon (3rd in franchise). A wild note about Alshon, if he stayed with the Bears, he…

  8. Started by adam,

It looks like the Bears created enough cap space for operating during the season after restructuring Jaylon Johnson's contract (saved $8M on this year's cap). However, I don't think there is room to add any big ticket guys like Zadarius Smith. At most it will be a vet minimum guy that doesn't impact the cap.

  9. Started by adam,

He may not be getting much attention, but he is currently top 5 in tackles per game, is tied for the league lead in INTs with 4, has 1 sack, and a 67.2 Passer Rating against. For how bad the pash rush has been, he has been playing very solid in his new position.

  10. Started by adam,

    Weird to see Bears as leading vote getters, 4 OL on the list, 14 total players in the top 10. The top 4 guys should be in consideration for All Pro, Dalman, Thuney, and Byard should be 1st Teamers. Wright, just because of name recognition will probably lose out to Horn or Surtain for 1st Team All-Pro. OC - Dalman - NFC1 / NFL2 OG - Thuney - NFC1 / NFL1 FS - Byard - NFC1 / NFL1 CB - Wright - NFC2 / NFL2 KR - Duvernay - NFC2 / NFL3 ST - Blackwell - NFC2 / NFL4 OT - Wright - NFC4 / NFL4 OG - Jackson NFC3 / NFL7 DE - Sweat - NFC3 / NFL7 LS - Daly - NFC5 / NFL5 QB - Williams - NFC4 / NFL7 P - Taylor - NFC5 / NFL10 TE - Loveland - NFC6 / NF…

  12. "Isn't this what we need for this 2025 NFL draft?" Poles was quoted as saying tonight before drafting a Tight End and then a Wide Receiver. oh that's right, it's 2026 and we did this last year. it's de' ja' vu all over again. why not keep drafting the same positions over and over and over and over for the rest of our lives? 1. poles gives a contract to a center who wants to retire (and he talks him out of it?) and 'surprise' he retires after ONE season. then drafts a center, that was a third round projected pick, in the 2nd round. all this after trading our f'king 5th round pick to the Pat's for this wonderful center a month ago. if this is even close to being sane, pleas…

Does Jason Campbell know what our offense's plays are? Every play he looks lost with no anticipation whatsoever for where receivers will be except his favorite....the checkdown.

  15. Started by ASHKUM BEAR,

It is early, but tonight I was looking through mocks. Today the Bears currently sit with the 24 pick, here is a route I can see them take. This of course is if they can keep Lovie on his remaining contract and resign Urlacher for 1 or 2 years. I'd also like to see them sign TE Jared Cook to replace Davis. Round 1 - Eric Fisher OLT Central Michigan Webb will be a free agent after 2013, it's time to end the experiment and draft a solid 1st round OLT talent. Carimi is the only OT with a contract beyond 2013. Round 2 - Larry Warford OG Kentucky 6-3 340 powerful athletic guard, that could start day 1. With Louis/Spencer contracts expiring and Edwin Williams/…

  16. Started by 50england50,

The easiest thing the OC can do is make sure the play reaches Jay before you need to use a time out. We would have been able to stop the clock and have probably over 2 mins at the end of the Game. Why can Jay have a no. of plays with down and distance that if I don't receive a play by X seconds I can choose a play.

Been doing some thinking about Lovie's dismissal and a thought came to mind... Cutler has a year left on his contract and I don't think Emery knows what to do with him yet. To start, QB is the most important position in football. If Lovie were to go into next season as coach, with Emery knowing he doesn't know his ass from hole in the ground regarding QB's. How does Emery evaluate Cutler through Tice and Lovie. He's already heard a ton of BS regarding the OL. Now Emery has the opportunity to bring his guy in to look at Cutler. Trust me, that evaluation will set the franchise forward or back. To me this move was/is great for the future of our team.
