  1. Started by Daventry,

I was not able to actually watch the game, but followed it on NFL.COM on play by play and have read quite a few articles. Sucks being in a place where you can't watch the game, but next week I will be watching on the big Sky.... In terms of Lovie, nothing much new here as far as I am concerned, I tend to think he may have been trying to ingratiate himself to Bears fans by going for it on the 4th down call. Overall I think the game shows, again, that he is not a smart coach. As does the drafting, personnel decisions, and public persona. I am heartened by the D, and Url's, performance. I don't like Url much, I feel he is an overpaid lout, but if he can get b…

Well its time to start trimming the roster and him and Ducasse is a good place to start.

http://www.chicagobears.com/multimedia/mul...lip=Y&rn=16 2 things: 1. It looks like he's having fun out there. When they were all throwing into the net from the goal post, he was slamming his hat down and laughing a little. That's good to see he's getting along with Hanie and Basanez. 2. The way the ball comes out of his hand is just so smooth and powerful. It seems like Basanez's throws take forever to get there, Hanie's are alright, and Cutler's are just on the money 100 mph.

Some pretty good assessments. I posted a little from each player, but there is more at the link. http://www.rotoworld.com/content/features/...=29927&pg=2

I lost my feed to NFL Network. (Dang Dish Network!!!) And was hoping to see some Combine stuff, specificially the OLer's and Flacco!! By the by, I for one am disappointed to see Muhammad go. He may not have been like they hoped he would have been 3 years ago but I believe that he was a strong and positive influence in the locker room with the younger players. And, he was willing to go over the middle, despite his advanced years. Good luck Moose wherever you end up next.

  6. I am truly saddened by the passing of one of my childhood heroes Ernie Banks aka Mr. Cub. By me being one of the true nuts who roots for both Chicago baseball teams because of the way my dad did this. My spring and summers consisted of Cubs baseball in the afternoon on channel 9 (WGN) and White Sox at night on the transitor radio since the Sox played more night games home and away. Ernie Banks epitomized what we all would hope the sports teams we root for players would be. Personable, productive, approachable and entusiastic about their team and the city they play in. http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news?slug=nfp-...all_for_nothing This is hilarious, to think that no one contacted the Dolphins about Marshall except for the Bears. I can think of at least 5-6 teams that would've taken the "risk". The best part is that Miami would have just released him. That would've created an even bigger firestorm and would've been a horrible move. The Dolphins would still be on the hook for the rest of the guaranteed money and would've had a residual cap hit. That would've went over really well in Miami. It seems like Ross is just trying to save face and show how good of a negotiator management is by getting 2x 3rd rounders for someone th…

https://chicago.suntimes.com/bears/2019/5/31/18647431/bears-t-j-clemmings-sign-vikings-free-agent I liked him years ago in the draft. I think he was a mid-round prospect. Obviously he's never put it all together and I have low expectations for him here but at least we have someone with more experience than Coward on board just in case. Remember Sowell is now a TE.

Anyone else drinking this Kool-Aid? http://www.scout.com/nfl/bears/story/16720...-top-10-in-2016 In the article he states our secondary was ranked 4th in the league but I find that deceiving in part due to the lack of run defense. I also don't have the much confidence in either Fuller or Porter. Yet we weren't that bad in the 2nd half of the season. Evidence for optimism resides here: http://www.nfl.com/gamecenter/2015112602/2...3&tab=recap I think top 10 D is a realistic possibility with a little bit of luck. That luck includes someone else among the young safeties stepping up as a legit starter next to Amos. Good health among the ILB star…

I am disappointed at missing out on one big signing of a playmaker, but lets look at last year first. Everybody got excited at signing Trevathan but we missed out on Malik Jackson and Javous Jenkins, I dont remember people complaining much. We signed Hicks, Freeman and Sitton that all made our team better but I dont remember people celebrating such great free agents. Massie ended up being an okay signing. Hicks was close to being a pro bowl player, Sitton did make the pro bowl and Freeman played like a stud while Trevathan got hurt. On day one we didnt get blowed away but if we look back to last year, I would have to say we did quite well. You can not…

Now HERE is a shot to get a player with experience in our system, who will provide legitimate depth, or possibly a starter, for our squad. from Profootballtalk.com: BRONCOS, LYNCH BREAKING UP Posted by Mike Florio on July 30, 2008, 11:04 p.m. The John Lynch era in Tampa ended after eleven years. In Denver, it lasted only four. According to Jay Glazer of FOXSports.com, the Broncos and Lynch have agreed to go their separate ways. “I met with [coach] Mike [shanahan], and we both knew it wasn’t really working,” Lynch said. “To coach’s credit, he understood it and is allowing me to seek other opportunities. Just in my gut, it didn’t feel right anymor…

Comparing Nicks to Bennett, they are both similiar. Bennett seems like the better blocker and Nicks is a little more physical. Don't get me wrong, I like and would want Nicks on the Bears, but if he is close enough to Bennett were they would both make good #2's in the NFL, why jam this position up with another WR with a same set of skills. Just like Maclin's skill sets says he would make an excellant slot WR, where Hester should be. This is where I think if we do go WR, we may take Darius Hayward-Bey and I'll also lay out his profile. DHB is raw and will take some work, but is he raw due to a poor QB play and bad offensive system? If Maclin resembles Hester too much…

Good read...if already posted, so sorry. http://www.profootballweekly.com/2009/06/3...er-but-not-best Posted June 30, 2009 @ 9:51 a.m. By Dan Arkush In what up to now has been a major summer of discontent — with both the Cubs and White Sox struggling mightily just to get to .500 — July 31 can’t come soon enough for many Chicago-area sports fans. That’s the date when both rookies and veterans are scheduled to report to the Bears’ training camp in Bourbonnais, Ill., which, if this offseason’s minicamps and OTAs are any indication, figures to be perhaps the most well-attended camp ever. A major Bears buzz has been hovering over the Windy City since th…

I re-watched the condensed version of the game this morning and came up with these observations: 1. Cutler: Made crisp decisions with the ball, threw them away when he had nothing (did not force), was making good animated fakes, moved well in the pocket and away from pressure, and overall had one of his best games as a Bear. He was also pretty pumped up after a few of the TDs. The only drawback was the telecast never showed him looking at a tablet or talking with coaches. 2. Young LBs: Sharpton and Greene both played a helluva game. They were in the frame on almost every single defensive play, regardless if they were making the tackle or not. Jones was p…

Okay, many here are ripping the defense, due in large part to their coaching. I am absolutely one myself. While I still think our coaching on the D is poor, here are some reasons why we may be able to get it done regardless. Not all agree Babich or Lovie are a problem as defensive coaches, but regardless, and for those who do, questionable coaching may not be enough to kill this defense. A bit of optimism from a pessimist. This post is dedicated to Crackerdog 1. No, I don't think we have good coaching on the sidelines, but I do think we have a great coach on the field. Mike Brown may honestly be our best defensive coach on the team. He has shown in t…
