Chicago Bear Devin Hester prepares for break-out season as receiver I had doubts as to what to expect from Hester this year. Logic told me he would improve with a QB like Cutler who could hit him on long routes. However, if you read this article you will possibly agree with me that we may indeed have a legitimate #1 WR in our midst. This is a telling passage from the article:

From the Sun Times, http://www.suntimes.com/sports/football/be...-bear23.article The only question I have is, why it took so long? Did the staff not feel Rex could utilize the 2 TEs as well, or did they not feel Olsen was ready last year. I know we did use 2 TE formations some last year, but nearly always, we ran out of that formation. It wasn't really part of our passing offense until this year. Now, if only I could convince Turner that Kellen Davis would be better on the field than McKie, we could use 3 TEs (plus 1 WR) and take yet another step

  5. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2014/...pect-and-trust/ Marc Trestman wants to create a culture of respect and trust Posted by Darin Gantt on August 6, 2014, 4:13 PM EDT Martellus Bennett, Marc Trestman AP The Bears didn’t attach a time frame to tight end Marcellus Bennett’s suspension for slamming a teammate to the ground in practice, so today was just another day in day-to-day. But Bears coach Marc Trestman said Wednesday the goal of the conversations about sitting his starting tight end was deeper than a simple punishment for conduct detrimental to the team. “The overriding philosophy is to get to know each other, to develop levels of tru…

  8. The website is run by a former scout and has alot of good info on it. It picked the Bears first pick as Liuget/dt/Ill. The second one was Franklin/OT/Miami. Is rising on draft boards, possible could start sometime his rookie year after Tice gets ahold of him. The 3rd pick was Patrick/cb/Loiusville. Most drafts have him listed in the top 10 cb prospects, which probably would fit with a 3rd round pick.

It is obvious that the SF roster has more talent than ours does. We won today because the coaching ghost of Tony Dungy is haunting Halas Hall. Eburflus is an even better Lovie Smith. SF beat themselves with penalties, while we played clean. We worked for turnovers. We stayed with the running game LONG past the time when Nagy would have panicked, and many coaches would have gone into desperation mode. We kept our coverage rule breaking route combinations up our sleeve until the 4th quarter, kept it close and then played the cards Nagy would have tried in the first quarter. Had they worked ion the first, youd have woken up the SF offense, and wouldnt have those plays n…

I find it interesting that there are those of us who are thrilled with the draft no matter what we do, and those who hate it no matter what we do. Our o-line, WR's, D-line, D-backfield, and running-back situtation are all significantly better. It's perplexing why we made a statement in not drafting a QB, but I'm sure we had our reasons. Either way, I had a great time spending about 12 hours message boarding about the Bears. Thanks to all of you who participated. Great draft.

I expected a very physical Steelers team to show up tonight on both offense and defense, especially the defense. That's exactly what we got. We had the game in control until we hit their punter and that ended up giving them a TD a few plays later. Yet on the road where the momentum changed in the home team's favor the Bears responded on both defense and offense in the 4th quarter and that is what good teams do. It's not all perfect, we're still missing a pass rush and we gave up far too many big plays on D. The Oline must get better at run blocking. Our first draft pick in 2014 will likely be a DT. Depending on who drops it could be a CB but I think DT…

No one wants Cutler. So sign him to the minimum and have him be the no. 2, after we draft the future, of course. Weird, hey, the Twighlite Zone exits!!!

Mike Martz was on the the SCORE today and I thought it was a great interview. Makes me think that we are moving Devin back returner and as a slot receiver more less. http://bit.ly/aHUBCg

bowlingtwig & marked both came in with 12 wins this week, with bowlingtwig inching out marked for 1st place with the tie-breaker. Great job fella. Looks like this is going to be a tough contest this year. 2 weeks with lots of games left, a lot of entrants with some very impressive scores. As of the end of week 2 - 58.1% is 12th place. That winning percentage usually will take first place by the end of the year in previous year results.

All bad news must come to an end and it finally did as of about 5 minutes ago. My wife and I just found out today that she is pregnant with our 2nd child. The doctors believe its fairly early within the past couple of weeks(still celebrating the fact that we got Cutler I believe) We will be going in in a couple of weeks to have an ultrasound done.
