Forte out for the second half. Let's see what this kid has. Thus far he has pretty good burst to the hole, a good surge at the end of his runs, but he appears to lack vision.

My understanding is, this was the video seen at halftime, http://www.chicagobears.com/walterpayton.asp All I can say is, it was incredible to grow up watching Payton. You always hear your father talk about having watched this player or that player, but for me, when talking to my kids, there is no greater legacy to point to having seen Walter Payton.

We are all huge Bears fans and just like football, thats why were on this blog. I am a glass half full person, so I always think the powers that be are always doing the right thing. I thought they must be pretty smart to get us to a Super Bowl in 06 with a top 15 RB, a top 20 WR, and not much at QB, but the last two years I have lost my faith in Loveme, and JerryGM. We have had lousy drafts as a whole and make lots of mistakes with the personal. I think they have made bad desicions in the couching area also. So the half empty glass has creeped in. We are 16 and 16 the last two years. I want everything they do to turn out ok, because it will make my team a winner but that …

No this is not a thread about SCS or AG, I am referring to players we dont want to see us draft. I dont wish to take the chance on Nix being a good player because of his injury history. It is hard to say how his pro career works out, tons of talent but we have drafted to many players in the past that never lost that injury tag and turned out crap. Also I obviously wouldnt like to see us draft any offensive players at least in the first two rounds. We have so many holes to fill, I actually wouldnt want to see any before the 5th round. Lets say Jake Mathews drops to our spot, a clear top 5 prospect everywhere. What do we do? If were going by BPA, I wou…

Are we going to do anything to beef up the DE position? The draft didn't play out as expected with a run on edge players before our pick at 53. Poles was pretty clear weeks ago that he was seriously looking to add talent to that position. Since then a few players have come off the FA market, notably Leonard Floyd (BUF) and Frank Clark (DEN). There are still some big names available but do they really fit? Ngakoue is the most obvious pass rusher but Eberflus has already worked with him and if he was a priority signing for this staff IMO he'd already be here. Clowney doesn't seem to fit the HITS system either. Everyone else on the list is like a who's who of soon …

Time to kick off the draft process... I've only just begun looking into draft prospects and there are already some names on this list I'd love to draft like Walter Nolen. TJ Sanders. Deone Walker at 6'6" 345lbs is a unicorn as a pass rusher but why can't he stop the run? I gotta start digging into the other names on this list. https://thedraftnetwork.com/2025/01/23/senior-bowl-2025-edge-idl-primer

  15. Started by adam,

Apparently this visit is scheduled for tomorrow. Normally visits don't happen until late March and/or early April, so this is considered "early". From Breer, it seems like the Bears will make a decision this week, and definitely ahead of the start of free agency. If the Bears were planning to trade Fields, they believe his value will decrease once free agency opens. https://www.si.com/nfl/2024/03/04/combine-takeaways-bears-plan-williams-draft-quarterback-fields The bottom line is, we should know this week what the Bears intentions are going forward. This will be a relief because ever since the #1 pick was locked up, there has been this discourse between…

These guys are on fire. 9 WRs already making an impact. Nabers leads the NFL in receptions. Whittington is 3rd in receptions amongst WR rookies and he is a 6th round pick. How does LAR do it? Kupp, then Puka, now Whittington. Thomas looks like a steal at #23. Outside of Whittington, Thomas may end up being the best value WR pick in the draft. I am not worried about Odunze because his issue is not skill, it has been target volume. Once his targets go up, he will be right there with the leaders. Nabers 35-386-3 (1st) Thomas 22-397-3 (1st) Whittington 18-201-0 (6th) Harrison 17-279-4 (1st) Odunze 15-206-1 (1st) McConkey 15-176-2 (2nd) Leget…

I'm looking at what our division rivals have done in the draft and let's open the floor for comments. I'll start with the team I hate the most. Packers: 1st: Kenny Clark DT. I felt they had better options available the way the DTs fell in the draft. This was a head-scratcher for me but that's ok. He won't be a bad player for them I just felt there were others with more upside available. 2nd: Jason Spriggs OT. Good pick for them 3rd: Kyler Fackrell OLB. It will be tough for me to watch the hometown kid wearing a Packer's jersey twice a season. He's not elite at anything but is a good jack-of-all-trades type. I really thought they'd push …
