Watched the tape from mini-camp on the Bears website. Larry Meyer mentioned that Joey had put on 15 pounds of muscle and looks extremely impressive. Look for him to take a big step up this yr at least on special teams. Peace

The Bears play a football game in two weeks. Obviously this game is going to be 90% backups and bottom of the roster guys, but we might see some rookies for a couple of plays. I can't believe we are only two weeks away. We made it!

We all keep repeating ourselves on who we would like, he is a list I dont want at 7. Both Qbs keep getting rated high because of the importance of the position, but for me, they are to risky of a pick for a team that needs a star now. Do not want either for our pick at 7. I think the two best edge rushers are going to be Fowler and Beasley, Gregory and Ray will be there at our pick and dont want anything to do with either. I think Shelton and Collins will be good players in the league but both are not a good valve at #7. We need a star in the making at 7 and dont think they fill that bill. I was just browsing though the colunmists blogs for the papers and caught that Williams hurt his back and walked off under his own power. Not good.

Sure we wee 7-9 this year but we should not have been. Think about it we lost some games by getting blowed out (Bengals,Cardnials, Vikings, Ravens) but we lost some that we should not have like the 1st packers game, the falcon game and two others against the 49ers and the Eagles. You can even make the case that we should have swept the pckers like we did the lions. So we lost 4 games by a total of 4,4,7,7 and had a chance to win in the ending of the game that would be 11-5.

http://www.chicagobears.com/multimedia/ I was watching his highlight tape on the Bears' site (above link) and I have to admit he has one of the most impressive plays I've seen from an offensive player without the ball. On one TD play at the 37sec mark he gets three blocks, falling down on the last one but gets right up and goes after a 4th block but can't quite get there. I am guessing this is what the Bears saw from him, not so much his inline blocking but his open field blocking. Forte should love this and again, it's one more reason to put the contract difference into an incentive because it is now more likely to be earned. I like what Clutts did for us…

Zack is back: With all of the injuries at the position, it came as no surprise Tuesday when the Bears promoted rookie cornerback Zackary Bowman from the practice squad to the 53-man roster. Bowman was selected by the Bears in the fifth-round of the draft from Nebraska. He played in all four preseason games before being waived Sept. 2 during final cuts. Washington Post I don't want to start any rumors but it could be us if JA is unsure about getting Cutler. I'd love Campbell. He can dink and doink but has a laser. He hasn't been all that great in his career but in his 1st 3 years he's had 3 different coaches. That is tough.

I'll focus on what could be changed right now to get the most out of our situation. Particularly looking at the future... 1. Jump on the nfo thought of moving Williams to LT, benching Pace and putting Shaffer at RT. Give it a whirl. Pace isn't going to be around next year. May as well start giving Williams the reps he needs. 2. Keep the offense similar to what Turner did this week. The change was working to a large extent. 3. Stop playing DB's so far off the LOS. On the Bears website in the ChalkTalk with Larry Meyer it has this Q&A: I would have never thought that Payton fumbled the Ball 85 times in 13 seasons. In retrospect, that is only 6.5 fumbles a season.
