I got to coach a 5-6 grade football game against Roosevelt Colvin. His son looks just like him. We won 30-13.

Anything going on of interest? Looks like we have the fastest WR group (ever) with a ton of guys at 4.4 and below. I doubt Olave drops to 39 but some other guys around him surprised with some fast numbers.

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/...arter/#comments Lovie Smith says Matt Forte will be the starter Posted by Mike Florio on March 24, 2010 9:10 AM ET Bears running back Matt Forte will earn a base salary of $470,000 in 2010. Newcomer Chester Taylor will be paid $7 million as part of the three-year, $12.5 million contract. But coach Lovie Smith said at Wednesday's NFC coaches' breakfast that Forte will be the starter, per Sean Jensen of the Chicago Sun-Times. That said, Smith added that there will be "competition." Given the eventual contents of Taylor's W-2 form for the current year, that "competition" could be tilted in favor of the vete…

http://www.chicagobreakingsports.com/2010/...-marinelli.html I know many of you will post the disdain you have for having the same defense that Lovie wants but maybe with the players recently added and those coming off injury, things could work out for the better. I like that Urlacher is looking forward to the upcoming season and having Peppers on his team.

Throws the ball into double coverage to Marshall which was tipped and then caught by Stokley in the last minute to win the game. OMG

As per Brad Biggs: http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/break...0,5687009.story He's a 31 year old former #1 pick who did almost nothing for years, then puts up 12.5 sacks for Tennessee last season. On an unrelated note, we've also been linked to wanting Cullen Jenkins from the Packers. Pending cost, both these guys have glaring red flags with inconsistency and health. I can't argue we need to upgrade the d-line. That being said, we spend an enormous amount of time, money, and draft picks on the d-line, with disappointing results.

First and foremost, he does not believe in the "home town discount." That's not terrible, but it means he's going to be looking for a huge contract. Is he worth it? The Seahawks have the best secondary in the NFL, and it's probably not even close. Richard Sherman is arguably the best lockdown CB in the league, and their pair of safeties (Chancellor and Thomas) are both among the best in the league. It just makes me wonder whether his results should be better? This article makes a good case for him and supports it with some stats that scs will break out the Jergens for, but for the talent on that defense, I wonder if he's as good as the money he'll be expec…

http://chicagobearsfanforum.com/blog/?p=254 The Bears * Brad Biggs blogs that Cedric Benson has was in court yesterday but not for boating. He was in for a speeding ticket. At first I thought, “No big deal.” But hen I read that he was fined $510 and given supervision. That was some serious speeding. * Count Rashaan Salaam as one of those who isn’t buying into the idea that Cedric Benson finally gets it. “They’ve given him everything,” Salaam said. ”But they’re getting tired of him. I have the most respect for the Chicago Bears organization for sticking with this dude. They are really looking out for Cedric Benson, treating him like he’s…

Points of View, June 2, 2008 http://chicagobearsfanforum.com/blog/?p=261 The Bears * Brad Biggs of the Chicago Sun-Times reports that WRs coach Darryl Drake believes the wide receivers are better this year even without Bernard Berrian and Muhsin Muhammad: "There's a lot more explosion out here right now." I want to believe... * Mike Mulligan, also of the Sun-Times has a fluff piece today on Devin Hester in which he says Hester needs to be paid. The part the stuck out to me were one or two comments from Drake like this one: "He has as good a pair of hands as anybody. And then his natural ability to run after…

Patrick FinleyVerified account @patrickfinley 19m19 minutes ago DL Jaye Howard got offer from #Bears but left Halas Hall without deal, per source. Door's not closed, though. He passed team's physical FWIW Hopefully he just wants to "Shop around" a little bit more. Would love to add a healthy Jaye Howard to the defensive line. He could be this years Josh Sitton, a really good vet the Bears pick up after the draft.

Matt Forte was seen limping off the field during today's OTA - he didn't return. It all happened a few minutes before the practice ended, so the fact that he didn't come back from the locker room may not mean much. Turner on the injury: "I don't think there's any concern...I think he'll be fine.''

http://mobile.suntimes.com/suntimes/db_215...AGc&src=cat The article lays out many reasons why the Bears need not consider "cleaning house" just to get another coach with a Super Bowl win in their pocket. I personally grow tired of those that want to get Cowher as if you put the record of Smith and Cowher side by side it really isn't all that different. Realistically, and as Bowlingtwig and a few others mentioned, Shannahan might be the better option. Mostly due to his familiarity to Cutler. And really that is what the Bears need to concern themselves with, making Cutler better and more comfortable. Would Weis be a good OC?? Most definitely. Would he come …

6.5 games left or approximately 390 snaps for a 4th round pick. I really hope they keep running Fields out there and let Wilson rest until at least Week 8 or 9. I am glad Fields is winning, but because the Steelers defense is playing so good (16 pts allowed in 2 games), no one really knows how Fields is actually playing. Does this look familiar to anyone? 23 Offensive Drives 1 TD 8 FGs 11 Punts 1 ToD 2 EoH This is Fields 2nd half today: Punt Punt FG Punt Punt Punt Punt I am happy for Fields, but the Steelers have to see this right?

We can weather this! If Cutler can make it back for the playoffs, we have a chance... Our D is playing great. Our return game is still amazing. Our running game, if it can return to form from a few weeks ago, should be solid. Our O line is playing better than expected. Our WR's are playing better than expected. Toss Hanie in the mix, and don't ask for him to do do much...and we could get in just winning 50% of our games. in OAK - Will be tough, but maybe we can pull it off. KC - We should win this one regardless in DEN - tough, but not as tough as OAK. The D will have to go off. SEA - very winnable at GB - We should lose this at MIN …

http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/colum...028-column.html That is absurd and just ridiculous. Again, Arians had an actual clue (as did the other top candidates) of reality where the Bears clearly didn't and they ended up hiring the one coach, desperate enough for a position, and out of touch of the reality that was the friendship between Rod and Lovie. The fact that Emery and others were so surprised just tells you how out of touch they were with the reality of the situation. Again, I say, a bunch of clowns, and for those that know my posting history, I'd like to think I'm pretty even keel by and large (with exception to Tucker and Joey D who …
