Just saw where Peppers was tagged. What I would love to see explained is, how this was done w/in the cap. All reports previously had Carolina w/ $10m in cap space, and yet they somehow signed Gross to a massive deal AND tagged Peppers, which will count a bit under $17m against the cap. I have no idea how they were able to do this. The only thing I can think of is, maybe this is a time of the year teams are allowed to be over the cap, which I suppose would allow them to get this done. If that is in fact the case, it only further points to Carolina trading Peppers, as at some point, they would have to be under the cap, and would likely have to make massive moves to…

I know we are 4-1. But lets be honest and objective, it hasn't been pretty. So far this year: Jay Cutler- 68/102 912 yds 6TD 3Int Kyle Orton- 118/175 1419 yds 6 TD 3Int Johnny Knox- 12 Rec 258 yds 0 TD Brandon Lloyd- 29 Rec 589 yds 3 TD Given, I would rather have a weaker quarterback and be 4-1. Both chicago and denver are equally abismal rushing. We are 31st and they are 32nd. This is just math.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S3y6U8hlNu0 Hope you guys enjoy this, 7 minutes of highlights from this season, pretty much any big play you can think of is on here. What are some of your favorite plays? Which stick out the most from the video that didn't get "enough" love during the season? I love Earl Bennet's catch vs Detroit where he rumbled on for like 20 extra yards.

Profootballfocus just did a study tabulating how many "catchable" passes were dropped by each receiver and TE last season: they watched each pass themselves and classified a pass as "catchable" if the receiver could get his hands on it and you would "reasonably expect it to be caught" - so passes deflected, slips, and passes thrown where the receiver could only get a fingertip on the ball wouldn't count. It's a narrow category, but it gives you an idea, for each guy, of how many passes he dropped that he absolutely should have caught. It looks like they only discuss the best and worst guys in the league, so the Bears' wide receivers are all missing in action in the …

Last night out of all the Bears running attempts only one was a toss to the outside to Bell the rest of the attempts were between the tackles. Maybe thats why we averaged 2.3 yards per run. This is what I saw at TC and that is what they did last night. I don't understand this type of thinking especially when they bring a reciever split wide in motion back towards the o-linemen essentially bringing another defender into the box. Last night the blitz pickup was horrible and it needs to improve dramatically or the QBs are going to get killed. When the Bears were passing a LB was coming off the edge on almost every play unblocked. This team features a 3-4 and there are a…

Everyone has fixated on the status of Hasselbeck, and for good reason, but there are a couple other injuries that could prove just as big. Most know that Walter Jones has been out, but does everyone realize his backup (Sean Locklear) also went down w/ a high ankle sprain? Per More, he isn't going to rush Jones back as he doesn't want to kill his season. But that could mean Seattle is down not only their stud LT, but also his backup. I don't even know who would start if these two can not go. Brandon Frye is listed as the backup RT, and they only picked him up a couple weeks ago off waivers. Coming off a two sack game, Alex Brown could be in for a big day. Ta…

This guy built a new trade value chart based on the 124 trades after the last CBA, which seems more accurate than the older chart. http://www.patspulpit.com/2017/4/23/153981...-chart#comments If you use this chart, the #3 pick is worth 514 pts and the #2 pick is worth 717 pts. Our 3rd rounder is worth 75 pts and our 4th rounder is worth 28. So if you give them the same value for 3rd round picks (75+75) for this year and next year, the 4th and #3, the total is 692. So surprisingly, we actually win this trade, and it is close enough to being a wash. The question becomes, was it necessary? The next team that would seem to need a QB was NYJ, and if they tried t…

Random thought on Tarik Cohen (like him, but I think he was a reach) and other "change of pace" backs. Are they needed? I get that each RB has their own style, flavor, and advantage. Some may be better at catching out of the backfield than others. Some are better going between the tackles. Given Howard's success last year, wouldn't it be better to just get a Howard clone and pound the opposing defense all game? Regardless of which RB is in there, the opponent really doesn't know what to do, or can't take a break. I mean, if Howard fits so well, why not a guy who runs just like him?

This post was for the only Webb supporter I have come across, but he will not comment anymore on this subject because when someone he says is getting better, gets sent to RT, takes a pay cut and then the unemployment line, pretty hard to convince people he was even be a NFL player let alone the best tackle on the Bears. That comment comes from the constant reference to Bushrod being on the same level. I just wanted to speak my peace on a boring subject that only get this much attention because you keep defending him. May I suggest instead of reading PFF watch the football games and let your eyes show you the truth. PFF has good stats but there not the Bible on how good pl…

Patrick FinleyVerified account @patrickfinley 19m19 minutes ago DL Jaye Howard got offer from #Bears but left Halas Hall without deal, per source. Door's not closed, though. He passed team's physical FWIW Hopefully he just wants to "Shop around" a little bit more. Would love to add a healthy Jaye Howard to the defensive line. He could be this years Josh Sitton, a really good vet the Bears pick up after the draft.
