What if Emery is smarter than you think? First off, he graded McClellin above other DE end options because "He showed us some natural things that the other ends did not show us to as high a level," Emery said. "His ability to bend, his pad level, to get from blocker to ball, to close the gap as quickly as possible … we felt was better than most of the rest of the class." SO straight up we liked this kid better than the others. It was said that GB and New England were looking at him too, so maybe Emery saw something. But there's more. Emery kept praising his versatility. In this article, Dan Pompei hints at it. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/…

He was picked and I get the impression from what I've heard and read that he will prepare his butt off to help us win games. I am 100% in full support of this kid. There may have been other guys that we passed on that may be better and some that may end being worse. I just hope Shae is a solid contributor for years. If he is that. It'll be something that we've been lacking for a long while. Kick some ass Shae! You are a Bear now! (I reserve judgement for Emery and his picks. There's much more to see before a true assessment can be made.)

He wont last, but I'd love Steven Hill.... In turn, Alshon Jeffery

Here is some information out there about our pick. I have read where NE and Packers would have taken him with picks. Good draft company Players in the top 13 sackers in the league last year, playing DE Allen/6-6 270/Idaho State Babin/6-3 267/Western Michigan Long/6-3 270/Virg Avril/6-3 260/Pru C. Clemons/6-3 254/Geo T. Cole/6-3 270/Cinn Our pick has similar size with some of the best pass rushers in the league last year. Some are from not major schools. DEs similar in the draft Ingram- play either DE or OLB I think the Bears may have him rated higher, but he wasnt there when we picked. Meculis- play either DE or OLB Almost identic…

They just had his press conference on the SCORE and he talked about playing all phases of special teams. Boers and Bernstein commented that he looks like a linebacker. Hub Arkush commented on a rumor that he might be Urlacher's eventual replacement. Here's how I look at it: One of our greatest areas of need was a situational pass rusher. We haven't had that since Mark Anderson's rookie year. In his rookie year, if he can fill that role, ratchet up double-digit sacks, won't that be pretty damn good?

Here's hoping we draft a quarterback we plan on converting in to a WR.

WR Quick and TE Fleener. Bears need to move up IMO.

Pretty excited about this. He's a very good wideout.

I would say we still need to draft a DT, CB, OT, with the next two picks. Hope they can figure how to do that.

Regardless of what we feel about the 3 picks there is one intangible to add to this mix and that is the Marshal trade. 1st Rd DE/OLB Not necessarily a scheme fit but this kid may force the Bears to diversify their scheme more. 2nd Rd WR Emery seems to like big physical WRs and gets himself one here and gives Cutler another weapon for his 29th B-day. 3rd Rd WR/SS Jay gets an engagement gift and Lovie gets his annual safety. The trade has to be included in this round of the draft since this was the result of the first 3rd rd pick via Carolina for Greg Olsen. BTW unless Idonije is going back to DT(I wouldn't be surprised by that) McClellin is not a 4 dow…

With this years FA and the draft so far the Bears are making me sick. Sick with Koolaid flu!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HA HA. We are getting everything we need for a deep run into the playoffs and SuperBowl. We just got Hardin a big 6'3, 222lb, 4.44 Saftey/CB not that he will be starting but put him in against C. Johnson. We got Jeffrey at 6'3 219lb for Cutler to throw to. Marshall and Jeffrey will be in beast mode during games. So there will be no more alligator arms like Knox does, those two will go and get the ball oh and not to mention the red zone with 6'3 Marshall, 6'3 Jeffrey, and 6'7 Davis...WOW!!!!!So this is what we have done so far Marshall = better the R.Williams T…

This is a big pick since we have no 5th rounder and you don't expect much from your 6th & 7th round guys. It's important we get a guy who sticks here.

Below is a list of the teams we play and what they have done in the draaft so far. By looking at their team and these new players who do you think will give us the most proplems this year? I think the Packers, 49ers, Rams and the Cowboys might be the ones that give us a run for our money. Arizona Cardinals No. 13: Notre Dame receiver Michael Floyd. No. 80: Oklahoma cornerback Jamell Fleming. Picks left (5): 112, 151, 177, 185, 221. Carolina Panthers No. 9: Boston College linebacker Luke Kuechly. No. 40: Midwestern State guard Amini Silatolu. Picks left (5): 104, 143, 180, 207, 216. Dallas Cowboys No. 6: LSU cornerback Morris Claiborne. No…

http://www.nfl.com/draft/2012 about half-way down...

an f'ing Fullback in the 4th? I have seriously had it..

But this is by far 'n away the worst Draft (with having a 1st) in recent history. Unless Alshon catches 70 balls, a total blow-off Emery's offseason - Minus Marshall - Free Agency: Signed 5 Special Teamers Weems, Hayes, Decastzo(sp), Thomas, Whilhite, Hayden, who little Lovie wanted all along Lovie got his Safety again, I smell 2 of Lovie Smith's patented RedShirts.... embarrassing

OLB from Nevada taken in the 5th round, pick 142.

Matt Reynolds of BYU. I watched play and guy is just a monster. He was by far their most talented lineman I watched play a few times

or am i missing something?

I'm going 0-16. Marshall is a woman beater, Cutler is a pussy, all of their FA's are either back-ups or ST players, their draft is already the worst ever, and Lovie is a douche. Oh, and Emery looks like a librarian. If they bring Ditka back, I'll immediately switch that prediction to 15-1. /endsarcasm
