There has been a lot of chatter about Emery's first draft class and rightly so with only Jeffrey panning out so far. But I will say he's the best we've had in years. I also see improvement year to year. If he keeps improving, we might be extremely dangerous for many years. I watched the video clip about him and they mentioned him going in Rd 3. CBS draft board has him as a 5th Rd pick. I think we go QB in 4-5th Rd so Savage is a guy who should be on our radar.

The Bears had a nice mini-bye and 1st game back, so let's see how they do after their real bye. Herbert may be back, Brisker and Gordon should be. The O-Line may be more solidified with Leatherwood at RT. This will be the first time to really put some plays in for Claypool as the WR1. The two games out of the bye will be good tests for the Bears, and we will get to see Hurts and Allen at Soldier Field. BUF is #1 in DVOA and PHI is #3. We should improve with health alone, but didn't do much in this draft to make an early impact.. With that going and the toughest 1st half of the season schedule in the NFL, I will give them a one win increase, because I see the young guys playing more later this season, decreasing the chance to win. A 4-12 record could happen which nets them top 2-4 draft pick. Since they have their QB of the future drafted, they can now trade down with that pick which should be hot if the QBs coming up are what the say. That pick should net the Bears multiple 1sts and 2nds in both 2018 & 2019.

When will we find an identity? Maybe it is what the media gives us, but it seems we don't have a leader on that side that rallys the troops. When the defense takes the field, we should be on the edge of our seats. We should see LBs mug the line, question the O with alignment movement, and consistant attacks from different personnel. Besides Fuller and Young, who else has shined? Maybe Kyle Fuller develops into that leader vocally and performance, but I would like to see a MLB or S since they are usually calling the alignments and blitzes.
