The Bears have developed a trend over the first three games that needs to end. We have started slow every game and seem to wake up around the second quarter going into the half and play better after halftime. We have gotten away with it twice and it bit us in the behind once. This goes mostly on the coaching as they don't seem prepared going in and the Bears are flat coming out of the gate and spend the rest of the game trying to match their opponent's intensity. Stanford Routt was cut by the Radiers to save money. The Bears need to sign this guy and cut Bowman and Jennings. Routt is 6'1 195lbs and runs a 4.3 40 yard dash. He is clearly better than either Jennings or Bowman. Also he is a cover guy.....meaning he can cover WR'S and not just let them run free.

I am hearing several, including Mayock who I respect more than most analysts, rave about this guy and have the Bears elated he "falls" to them. He was a late riser on the draft boards from what I can tell which always make me a little nervous. Seems like those guys tend to bust. Any of you guys watch this guy play? Is he the real deal? Should I be keeping my fingers crossed that we get him or should I be praying someone else gets him off the board before the Bears pick?

First, I don't fall into the category of apologizing for any wins in the NFL. I don't think the Packers are apologizing for beating the Vikings by 3pts and only scoring 24pts. I not saying we beat the Patriots or Broncos either. From a few weeks back I wanted to see progress and I see it. Not everywhere but there is some fight in this team. Take it at fast value but was surprised to see that ranking pulled together. He wasn't even rated highly from a receiving perspective (which makes me question the entire rating process PFF put together). He certainly wasn't an elite football player last year. He got a lot of garbage stats and run blocking wasn't good but I can't remember a special move / play he made last season. I like Forte a lot but in a deep RB draft and with Carey on board, the money you free up could help you land 2 starting caliber players (shore up oline / defense).

After seeing amazing games played by Seattle, the New York Jets and Pittsburgh since the beginning of this playoff season, I believe that anything can and will happen during the playoff season. With New England, who many "ASSUMED" would walk away with another Super Bowl, out of contention it only proves that point. Chicago is VERY capable of winning a Super Bowl this year. I've been seeing lots of mocks where LaMichael James from Oregon is falling into the third and fourth round. Would be prudent for the Bears to spend a late third on him if other issues have been addressed? I have read some post stating that the Bears don't have a WR that is worth any praise but, I'm on the other side when it comes to Knox who I believe is going to have a breakout season. I have latched on to this kid since I saw him working out at the Combine and believe he has the potential to be a game breaker so you fantasy drafters should add him to your squads in late rounds.

I was re-watching the game and got to thinking...Isn't this technically a safety? He fields the kickoff in bounds backpedals out of bound and downs the ball out of bounds? Always thought if you on your own step out of the back of the end zone it's a safety? I could be wrong if the rules are different on Kick off returns as opposed to being on offense and stepping on the end line. Probably a dumb question but curiosity.
