When does Mel Tucker join the line? If not, then Emery needs to be fired. An asinine plan to keep the defensive scheme completely intact. Finding a willing coach was even worse. Hindsight is 20-20 but that plan blew chunks. Start over, don't blow another season. Even with new players coming in the draft and FA, it seemed pretty clear that Tucker and his crew can't teach. So why trust them with the next crew?

HOME NO, TB, DAL, BUF, MIA AWAY ATL, CAR, SF, NE, NYJ To me this looks like an incredibly difficult schedule. It seems like almost all our opponents have good defenses. TB has a good Defense and will have Lovie. NO and DAL are rematches. BUF and MIA are tough. CAR, SF, and NE will be brutal. ATL was bad but played good late and is always good at home. NYJ has a good Defense and is tough at home. I don't see any easy games. We obviously have to get better in the division, but either way it is hard for me to see us winning more than 10 games at best.

I know I made note of this in another thread but I thought it deserves it's own thread. Herring and Pasquanelli, who will be the DL coach, worked together in the same roles on the 2010 Cowboys team. Both guys have been strictly 3-4 guys in the NFL. I like it....Bears might not have Wade Phillips but they got 2 of his disciples on the staff.

With the possibility of moving to a 3-4 I was looking at some of the 3-4 tackles from around the league and thought "These guys aren't that big"...So I question, does size really matter?? The 49ers used Glenn Dorsey, all 6'1" 297 pounds of him. He racked up 41 tackles and 2 sacks, which doesn't sound like a lot but for a NT that'snot bad at all. So, because of the other thread, here's the official/unofficial offensive line rankings. Simple stuff. Rank the five Bears offensive linemen 1-5 throughout the year. Consider effectiveness, consistency, penalties, sacks, huge plays, leadership, dominance, responsibility, etc. For my money it's probably: 1) Bushrod - Huge problems before this year. I found this article and thought it worth posting. The Bears have been very quiet regarding FA and with their recent contracts have put us in a spot with no cap room. What if? one of the 3 OTs fall to us-Robinson-Mathews-Lewan (getting a top 10 LT that would move Bushrod to the right side, cant be all bad for a improving OL) What if? Profootballfocus just did a study tabulating how many "catchable" passes were dropped by each receiver and TE last season: they watched each pass themselves and classified a pass as "catchable" if the receiver could get his hands on it and you would "reasonably expect it to be caught" - so passes deflected, slips, and passes thrown where the receiver could only get a fingertip on the ball wouldn't count. It's a narrow category, but it gives you an idea, for each guy, of how many passes he dropped that he absolutely should have caught.
