Are you a diehard Chicago Bears fan? If so, you've found the spot to discuss all things Chicago Bears. Discuss the Monster of the Midway right here as the Bears look to get back on track in 2024 and take the North and never give it back! Flaming is not allowed and all such posts will be deleted. Try to keep it clean and most importantly BEAR DOWN! #BEARS #CHICAGOBEARS #BEARDOWN

  1. This may not sound like a big deal, but TE was an issue last year after Kmet, and the Bears needed 3 on the 53-man roster. This really upgrades TE3 from the likes of Chase Allen and Jake Tonges to Marcedes Lewis.

  2. The more I look into this, the more I believe Fields is going to easily throw for more than 3500 yards. We are just so tainted by the last two years that we can't see past those. Trubisky averaged 208 yds/g for the Bears. Even in just a 16 game season, he averaged 3328 yds per season. That includes his rookie year where they barely let him pass. Trubisky threw for 3223 yds in 2018 (in 14 games), that was 230 Y/G, which would be 3910 for 17 games. So who did Mitch have to throw to? These were his top 7 targets (ARob, Gabriel, Cohen, Burton, Miller, Howard, and Josh Bellamy)! The leader in receiving yardage was ARob with 754! I forgot how bad that offense was beca…

Torn Achilles. At his age could be career ending. Regardless of what the Bears fan in me thinks about him it does suck to possibly end your career that way.

It's funny how much crap this guy takes because he is not Kelce or Kittle in their prime. Sure he is probably not a true top 5 TE, but he is constantly in the top 10 in most categories, yet it seems like people treat him like a dud. Here is where Kmet is at after 4 weeks for TEs: 5th in receptions 5th in yards T-2nd TDs T-2nd 1st Downs Since the start of 2021, Kmet is 11th in receptions, 10th in yards, T-9th in TDs, and 12th in 1st Downs. Thoughts?

Good move, surprised he signed it with all the stuff going on and with the team's record. I am sure it is a nice raise.

  9. Dust settling but multiple reports popping up that Cousins will sign 4yr deal with Falcons. No word yet on $'s. Not a good look for Field(s) but now the dust is settled at QB.

Good article with some interesting background on how NB are used. Also the '22 draft was insane for DB talent. https://www.matchquarters.com/p/golden-age-of-the-nickel-defense-titans-mccreary

Year 3 of 5 year rebuild: Poles retains Flus ( who was still under contract) because he went 5-3 at the end of the season. He had the defense humming and the lousy offense got blamed on Getsy. Poles drafts Caleb-Odunze-(TRADED 2ND ROUND FOR SWEAT)- 3rd round T( coimg off an injury that would have went in 2)-Blue chip punter-future edge. Brings in Shelton-Bates-Allen-Everret-Swift- Pryor. Davis blows up, Borom-Bates-Kiran all not able to start the season. Jenkins proves he cant stay healthy and Wright and Jones get hurt. Bad spot for any team let alone the Bears. Waldron proves he isnt a good coach, reflects back on Flus for Judgement. Caleb struggles …

It's seems like Washington had some things he wanted to try out today with some funky handoff zones. It's obvious the team didn't grasp the concept. He didn't do himself any favors. So far, 38pts, 438 yards, with five plays over 30 yards.

  15. Started by adam,

I have seen some people suggesting this, but knowing what the Bears gave up for Mack, at the end of the day, I don't know if 2x 1st rounders would be worth it knowing how much help the OL needs. What do you think? If the Bears offered up their next 2x 1st rounders, would you trade for Parsons? I wouldn't because the Bears need to build with the draft, and I would rather they gain draft capital than trade it away.

  16. Started by adam,

From the Twitter Doctors, it looks like a season ending injury and potentially something that will impact next season. So the Bears will need a new LT on opening day next season. Just another need for a team with a ton of needs. Poles needs to go.

I saw someone point out that this could be a move that benefits both team and player. We have Terrell Smith who is a little stickier in man coverage than Stevenson, but less good at tackling around the LOS. Given the new defensive scheme is going to rely on man on the outside more often and our lack of depth at safety this could be a win win. I could see Stevenson playing the role Brisker has played for us and doing it well.

  19. 2/$6 million for Josh Blackwell as key ST contributor and CB depth Smythe is your Gerald Everett replacement with better blocking. He was with Miami when Ben Johnson was there, so looks like another one of “his guys”.
