I know it's a bit off the wall but what if??? Saw today that Mike Wallace does not intend to sign his tender with Pittsburgh. How about a trade with Forte? The Steelers need an RB and the Bears need another "flashy" WR opposite Marshall and me thinks Wallace would fit the bill. Just sayin.

I wouldn't expect less from Howard in terms of work ethic. A player in such a physically demanding position as starting RB doesn't stay on the field like Howard has in 2 years without the training effort behind the scenes. Last year he worked on improving his receiving ability and this year he's even more focused on it. He doesn't need to be elite as a receiver, just effective enough that he drags coverage with him early on the route. With that he'll have a big impact on the offense's ability to disguise plays and get some chunk plays, including those where Howard catches the ball and makes the first defender miss. The season is over, they would have to win 6 out of 7 to only have a slim chance at the playoffs based on wins by SF and MIN. So with that, this is what needs to happen the rest of the season or before next season. Fire Pace, fire Nagy and the entire coaching staff. You have to get the stench off this team and the only way is to clean house. Allow the new GM to come in and hire his guy. On offense, draft/sign a Center and WR, don't sign ARob, don't resign Monty. Talk about a bad week, I hope he pulls his head out of his arse. He was almost singlehandedly responsible for 3 huge plays for Buffalo. The 2 long runs and the Spiller TD, Briggs was out of position more than McClellin ever was. Now that is bad. On the Spiller TD, he was biting on the fake and could not recover in time which ended as a super easy TD for the Bills. I really hope he turns it around. Maybe he did miss some preparation for the game when he was opening his restaurant.

Pompei has an acticle talking about how this may be one of the deepest (depth) bears teams in some time. Do you agree? Not sure I do. He looked a LOT better tonight. He got some decent blocking and looked to go vertically instead of trying to run around everyone and get tackled for -3 yards. He was aggressive going down the field and looked like the Hester of old. I expect him to break one against Houston, and if I'm the Bears, I put Hester out there returning kicks NEXT to Danieal Manning. Side note...we need to play Soulja Boy again when he is back to return.

Monty has one more year on his rookie deal and has been very solid for the Bears over the last two years. I can't wait to get him back in the lineup where the Bears will have a real 1-2 punch in Monty and Herbert. Thru last week, with Monty missing a few games, their stats are very similar but they are completely different runners: Monty 69-309, 4.5 Y/A, 6-49. Herbert 58-279, 4.8 Y/A, 7-48. If Herbert keeps this up, and looks legit in a small sample size, the Bears will have to decide if they want to extend Monty, which seemed like a no-brainer just a few weeks ago. Now, I don't know. The Bears will part ways with back-up quarterback Caleb Hanie and who would be a great cheap option? One site says the the Bears might look at a proven vet(I didn't say star) like Orton, Garard or even Grossman. Yes I know but it was a thought....lol. Grossman did get us to the Superbowl at least.
