1. Eben Britton, RT, Arizona ---Shaffer? Great. He isn't the long term answer, though. 2. Paul Kruger, DE, Utah ---Good against the run and can get to the QB some, too. 3. Brandon Gibson, WR, Washington State ---It's been said the FO likes this guy. 3. David Bruton, FS, Notre Dame ---Smart player and big hitter to compete with Bullocks. 4. Asher Allen, CB, Georgia ---We need CB's after Bowman's been moved to S. 5. Marko Mitchell, WR, Nevada ---Big WR at 6'4, 213 who is a good blocker. 6. Tony Fiammetta, FB, Syracuse ---Arguably the best FB in the draft. 7. Mike Reilly, QB, Central Washington ---To compete with Hanie for the #2 job. 7. John…

1. Eben Britton, OT, Arizona ---IMO, he fits our scheme perfectly. St Clair still hasn't re-signed and is bad in the run game. 2. Kenny Britt, WR, Rutgers ---A possession WR who is a perfect compliment to Hester. 3. Sammie Lee Hill, DT, Stillman ---A massive NT who knows how to get to the QB. 3. Phillip Hunt, DE, Houston ---Has a nose for the QB. 4. Troy Nolan, FS, Arizona State ---Big safety who has a nose for the ball and knows what to do when he gets the ball (3 TD's this past year). 5. Louis Vazquez, OG, Texas Tech ---He could go earlier, but Vazquez had a great combine with, I believe, the most reps of anyone. 6. Austin Collie, WR, BYU ---Re…

1. Jonathan Martin, OT, Stanford ---Finally, a franchise LT for Cutler. 2. Chandler Jones, DE, Syracuse ---Jones looks like, with a few pounds added, a future 8-9 sack NFL player. 3. Josh Norman, CB, Coastal Carolina ---Norman's stock really rose recently, and the Bears need a young CB. 4. TY Hilton, WR, Florida International ---Hilton had a huge pro day, running in the 4.3's. If they're interested in Kendall Wright, a smaller WR, they should look at Hilton as well. 5. Senio Kelemete, OG, Washington ---Emery said OL will be stressed in the draft, and Kelemete is a good player. 6. Aaron Henry, S, Wisconsin ---Depth safety in case, or when, Wright f**…

Sign Mike Sims-Walker: 5 years, $20 million. 1. Gabe Carimi, OT, Wisconsin ---The Bears had 3 scouts at Wisconsin's pro day. If he's there, he's the pick. 2. Stephen Paea, DT, Oregon State ---I can't imagine he'll fall this far, but if he does, he should be the selection. 3. Rock Carmichael, CB, Virginia Tech ---Carmichael had a good year and is a winner. In round 3, this should be a good time to find a guy to replace Jennings in a year or 2. 4. Kris O'Dowd, C, USC ---O'Dowd can sit a year behind Kreutz. 5. Jah Reid, OG, Central Florida ---The Bears need some OG depth, badly. 6. Dion Lewis, RB, Pittsburgh ---This is iffy because apparently Taylo…

2. Juaquin Iglesias, WR, Oklahoma ---I love this guy. For some reason, I think he'd fit in well here. 3. Matt Shaughnessy, DE, Wisconsin ---A DE for Marinelli to toy with. 4. Sebastian Vollmer, OT, Houston ---Pace is old and often injured, and who knows about Williams. OT is still a ened. 5. Chip Vaughn, S, Wake Forest ---S depth to go with Earl, Bowman, Manning, Steltz, and Bullocks. 5. Coye Francies, CB, San Jose State ---Walterfootball and I agree- this guy has so much pure talent it's ridiculous. 6. Tony Fiammetta, FB, Syracuse ---Best FB in the draft, IMO. 7. Jeremy Childs, WR, Boise State ---WR depth. 7. John Gill, DT, Northwestern ---…

1. Jamar Taylor, CB, Baylor 2. Alec Ogletree, LB, UGA 4. Brian Schwenke, OG, Cal. 5. Ryan Otten, TE, San Jose St. 6. Kenjon Barner, RB, Oregon I'm not sure how I feel about this draft. Don't like the start of it, but Ogletree in the 2nd would be a steal. Virtually everyone here like Schwenke in the 4th, but then Otten ruins the momentum in the 5th. Finishing with Barner would be very nice, since the Bears could use a breakaway threat at RB (6th round pick on a guy who could end up being the best RB in the draft).

The draftees will wear the following numbers, though some likely will change before the regular season: DL Jarron Gilbert (73), WR Juaquin Iglesias (17), DE Henry Melton (69), CB D.J. Moore (30), WR Johnny Knox (13), LB Marcus Freeman (58), S Al Afalava (46), G Lance Louis (60) and WR Derek Kinder (83). Undrafted free agents will wear the following numbers: FB Will Ta’ufo’ou (45o), S Dahna Deleston (45d), CB Woodny Turenne (47), RB Tyrell Fenroy (48), LB Mike Rivera (59), G Johan Asiata (62o), LB Kevin Malast (62d), G Dennis Conley (70) and WR Eric Peterman (86). ...told ya Freeman looked like Marshall and Afalava like Plank!

Not sure if anyone is interested, but annually, I book a hotel in the Super Bowl city, and if (when) the Bears don't make it, I cancel 24 hours prior to and it doesn't cost me a thing. Of course, the only year I didn't was in 2006 when they did actually go. Anyhow, I found a La Quinta Suites in Slidell, (where ironically, Forte is from) which is about 25 miles from New Orleans, for only $119/night. If anyone is interested, I'd go that route. All of the other hotels are either sold out or $390+/night. This hotel also has all good reviews on Trip Advisor with the exception of 1 or 2 people.

https://chicago.suntimes.com/bears/2019/5/31/18647431/bears-t-j-clemmings-sign-vikings-free-agent I liked him years ago in the draft. I think he was a mid-round prospect. Obviously he's never put it all together and I have low expectations for him here but at least we have someone with more experience than Coward on board just in case. Remember Sowell is now a TE.

At the bottom of an article about Zach Bowman was this little tidbit about how Jon Hoke has changed our CBs coverage technique: ******************************************************************************** ******************** http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/footb...0,2983877.story Then came organized team activities, and the new emphasis on coverage technique that played into Bowman's skills beautifully. "We've done more backpedaling this year than I ever have in my life and that has helped me a lot," Bowman said. "They are teaching us to stay square for a longer period of time. Last year they were telling us to open up any time we felt threate…

So what do you guys think of the new 7-team NFL playoff format? I have mixed feelings about it. My old school brain says, leave it like it is. My new school brain says, cool, an extra playoff game. Some thoughts: The #1 seed is now the only team with a bye. Teams 2-7 face off in the wild card round with the 3 winners and #1 seed making up the Divisional Round. In a way, it does make more sense. It rewards the conference regular-season champ, whereas before, the 2nd seed was also getting a bye. So now the importance of winning the conference becomes even more important. The last few weeks of the season should be more competitive as more teams will be in the hunt…
