Here is a projection of our team from some idiot on Bleacher Report for 2012. Cutler- 56%-3024-18-28 his reasoning is Cutler just isnt a very good QB Forte-340/822-2tds-5 fumbles his reasoning that with him being unhappy will preform badly Bush- will be on IR because RBs that change teams get hurt Marshall-50-488-3 his reasoning is he will get in trouble and wont play a full season Jeffery-24-302-1td need to to develope Bennett-60-608-4 tds actually he is probably accurate with these numbers. The guys name is Bryce Jackson and I think he sounds like a GB high schooler that knows somebody on that website that let him write …

  2. The Chicago Bears rookies, report to training camp next week, July 16. Veterans follow on July 19. This is were the pen and paper dreams unfold into reality and the real excitement begins. There is still some offseason business that needs to be finished by next week, like signing Caleb and Rome, so expect that to be the buzzer to welcome the fans of the start. There will be battles for positions won and lost. A player or two will emerge unexpectedly and some new names mixed in as they get looks at the roster. What will you be watching for as this new era begins?

http://www.chicagobears.com/team/depth-chart.html Some interesting rankings TE: #1 Zach Miller, #2 Khari Lee, #3 Tony Moeaki (Lee will be the blocking TE, so makes sense) RB: #1 Jeremy Langford, #2 Ka'Deem Carey, #3 Jacquizz Rodgers #4 Jordan Howard (Anyone else surprised to see former bubble player Carey at the #2? - I like it) WR: #1 Jeffery/White #2 Eddie Royal/Mariani #3 Braverman/Meredith/Duncan... (No surprise, but Braverman made early noise and still at #3) DE: #1 Hicks/Unrein #2 Ferguson/Bullard #3 Washington/Browner (Unrein as a starter, but Ferguson starts first 4 games on suspension) NT: #1 Goldman #2 Will Sutton #3 Terry …

We're just more than a week out from the start of training camp. Scout.com has a good article on potential surprise cuts. Some on their list I'd say wouldn't be a surprise and have been discussed here during the offseason (i.e. Carey). http://www.scout.com/nfl/bears/story/15632...-cut-candidates I think Bostic is on the bubble big time. I don't know if he's healthy yet but he has a lot of catching up to do. Aside from that when you go back and recall who Fangio said he felt he could build his defense around Bostic name was pushed aside for players like SMC and Jones. Missing an entire offseason of practices is not helpful for a player like Bostic who d…

This is not my dream draft but with all that I have read(I dont have a life) how I think the players will drop to us that we have on our board. 2-Bryd/FS/Ore I think we wanted Johnson and he is gone and the WRs we have rated high at this point are gone so we take a player on our board that fits this slot. Besides his dad is a ass. coach on the team. 3-Collie/WR/BYU The best receiver left in our second tier WR group that fits this valve at this spot. 4-Follett/OLB/Cal I see them as thinking this is a potenial upgrade at that position and fits the valve of the pick. 5a-Melton/DE/Tex They…

I know I made note of this in another thread but I thought it deserves it's own thread. Herring and Pasquanelli, who will be the DL coach, worked together in the same roles on the 2010 Cowboys team. Both guys have been strictly 3-4 guys in the NFL. I like it....Bears might not have Wade Phillips but they got 2 of his disciples on the staff.

I think things will be quiet now for awhile and we are working on trying to resign our players in FAgency. I think we resign Idonije, Loius, McCown, and Scott. I think we still get a CB in FAgency because there is a surplus and as time goes on the players get nervous and grab on to a job. I would like to see them grab a Sheldon Brown/CB played for the Browns. I think we still get one of our LBs in FA due to having to count on two rookies to start might be a stretch. I would like to seem them grab Daryl Smith/OLB from Jacksonville, just due to the tie to our DC and played at a high level last year. There is a chance Urlacher comes back, but the longer it goes I think the …

In today's MMQB by Peter King, he says right now Kyle Long would get his vote for Offensive Rookie of the Year. Thoughts? I didn't watch closely enough at he and Mills in particular last night, but I know he opened the whole for Forte's long run and I do know Cutler's on pace to only be sacked 16 times. So much for him being not worthy of the pick.

This might be one of the worst SBs in quite some time, offenses playing scared. Maye on pace for a top 5 "worst SB passing performances" of all time. Grogan had 177 passing yards in SB XX. Maye has 48 yards and has been sacked 3 times (19 net passing yards). The worst net passing ever was DEN in SB XII with 35 lol. He needs 65 passing yards to pass Kerry Collins for 5th worst of all time.

Probably a bad time to do this after a bad game but I have a lot of free time in Thailand. First of all as much as Nagy and Pace has a bad year but there not going anywhere. So trying to create that chaos is a waste of time. For 2020 we have 12.5 in cap space. 1. Cut Long saves us 8 mil. The rest of the line isn't going anywhere cap hits would be terrible for them. 2. At WR give ARob a new contract to reduce this years cap hit of 13 mil. ( reduce cap hit to 9 this year.)Cut Gabriel 4.5 , and Patterson to save 5 mil 3. Floyd is not a pass rusher but can play football. Due a contract of say 3 year= 27 mil with only 10 guaranteed. Saves 4 mil.…

Read in the Sun Times that our QBs are working out of the shotgun quite a bit. That is something we have VERY sparingly done in the past. I don't think Kreutz is a big fan of the shutgun, and w/ a slower runner like Benson, delays handoffs were never going to work. Now, w/ quicker/faster RBs in both Forte and KJ, it seems like we may be in a better position to use the shotgun now. Also, wasn't Orton a shutgun QB in college? In fact, wasn't one of the pre-draft knocks on him whether or not he could play under center? I never expected us to use the shotgun much, but if we are spending a lot of time practicing it, it does make me wonder. Also, could this b…

Wow, this has been a crazy couple of days. The best part about this for the Bears? Potentially better draft compensation for the Mack trade. If the Raiders are even worse than we expected them to be this year, then we should get a better 2nd round pick for our 1st next year. Something like our high 20's (or #32) for their #33-35 would be insanely awesome. Teams like those early 2nd day picks too, which makes them extremely valuable if we wanted to move down a few spots.

I was probably most impressed with one thing from this game...Cutler manning up and saying he should have put the ball on the back shoulder (on the pick to Jeffrey). For all of Cutler's pro's, his biggest inability in my opinion has been his overall leadership qualities and the fact that historically it is everyone but his own fault. Maybe I'm crazy but I felt like in the post-game this was one of the first times he's taken full responsibility for his actions. I also heard an interview from Forte on NFL network earlier this week where he commented that Cutler is a lot more mature this training camp (said it must be the fact that he's married and had a kid). A more m…

Depending on how things are viewed, from the starters and key rotational guys from last year, I think this is where we are at right now, based on filling holes by snap counts (top 20): Daniels > Patrick Peters > Jenkins Ogletree > Morrow Nichols > Jones Gipson > NEED SS Byrd > Pringle Robinson > NEED WR1 DHC > NEED S Ifedi > Borom Dalton > Foles Bush > NEED S/DB Goodwin > St. Brown Goldman > Tonga Mack > Gipson Hicks > Need DT Burns > NEED CB James > NEED TE3 Graham > NEED TE2 Grant > Evans? The Bengals Antwan Odom, DE, was lost for the year. CIN has allowed a league-high 25 pass plays of 20+ yards. I think we matchup pretty well against the Bengals. Palmer is not very mobile, and Benson only gained 44 yards against Houston's defense. This was a game that I expected us to win before the season started, and I still believe we should win. Looking at our schedule, this is where we could go on an extended run (as long as we don't give away anymore games). After CIN, we have CLE and ARZ at home, then @ SF, and then PHI at home before going to MIN. It would be nice to head into MIN at 8-3. We also have a favorable schedule after the MIN game (STL an…
