Nobody does it better: http://www.chicagobears.com/news/NewsStory.asp?story_id=7442 "In the eight games since their bye week, the Bears are the only NFL team to call more runs (238) than passes (231). It’s probably no coincidence that they’ve won seven of those eight contests, clinching both a division title and a first-round playoff bye in the process."

After tonight's Philadelphia Eagles loss, the Chicago Bears have clinched a first round bye. They still have a shot at the #1 seed should the Falcons lose.

  5. Looking at all these NFC teams hovering around 7-3 is making me nervous, thinking that if we don't win our division, we have a good chance of missing the playoffs entirely. I hope this doesn't end up like the Patriots a few years ago when they went 11-5 and missed the playoffs. The Packers are looking invincible now, even with their injuries, that makes the final game of the season probably the determining factor on who makes the playoffs and who stays home. This makes the Eagles game a MUST win, and beating one of the Jets, Patriots, or Packers is a MUST as well. If we don't go atleast 4-2 in our last 6 games, we might be in trouble. Even then, I think the Packers probab…

Regardless of how often the Bears run the cover-2, we can all agree that the cover-2 serves as their primary defense and the rest of the time it's just a variation or modification from the base. Having said that, it seems that every team in the NFL realizes the Bears are going to do the following most of the game: 1] Keep LBs near the LOS at the snap 2] Keep DBs 5yds off the WRs at the snap 3] Keep Safeties deep That is a recipe for easy slants, curls, and square-ins. Those have burned the Bears for years. So, where is the change? What about the following wouldn't work from time to time? 1] Move the outside LBs laterally to step into the passing lan…

Looks good so far. Line is actually looking good. Cutler is getting rid of the ball. Martz is calling nice quick plays. Keep it rolling.

If God really is a Bears fan....can the Bears have home field advantage, if the Falcons lose and Bears win? Im not sure what the exact format is. The Bears are behind the Falcons by 1 game. They can potentially be tied after this weekend, but the Bears would have zero losses in their division.

http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news;_ylt=Ar65...ears122610& Im guessing the Giants getting their asses handed to them again isnt news either.... Why is ok for the jets to squeek by Detroit, Cleveland? and the Patriots to gived up 24 to Matt Flynn led Packers? Im the first to admit this team isnt very good, the coaching refuses to change any scheme and we would more than likely get beat up in a Super Bowl, let alone playoff game, but my god...

I believe things are starting to really come around in the Mike Martz offense. The last two weeks have looked awesome for Cutler, and his numbers since the break are eye-opening. Averages: 16/26 (61%), 203yds at 7.8ypa, for 2 TDs and less than 1 INT. Totals: 129/212, 1623yds, for 16 TDs and 7 INTs. Oh, and by the way, he quietly went over 3000 yards this past weekend. One other note... Before the bye he was getting sacked at an alarming rate of 4.5 sacks per game. After the bye, it's only 2.4 sacks per game. Call it what you want, but it looks like the guys on the offensive side of the ball are doing some coaching.

OMG That game nearly gave me a Heart attack. I was absolute nervous wreck during that last 2 minutes. If they keep this up Iam gonna have to write my obituary for the wife. Great win , but my gosh, cant we keep it more like the vikings game , that way I will survive.

JC had another game with over 100 qb rating. 104.16666666666667 was his score today. after the pick 6 I thought he would implode, but he stuck in there. good job.

That was, by far, the OL's best game as a unit all season BY A LANDSLIDE. The only player who had 2 or more false starts was Williams, and I think only Omiyale had the other. Hell, it even rubbed off on the usual patty-cake Olsen, who smashed a Jet enroute to Forte's TD run.

Playing against the Packers will see the Bears have a 1,000 yrd rusher (Forte) because he now has 978 yards and needs just 22 to make the mark, and a 1,000 yrd WR (Knox) because he has 960 yards through the air and needs just 40 to reach the mark. Oh and give a big Bear hug to Cutler for being the first bear QB to make back to back 3,000 passing yard seasons and 23 TD passes!
