The more mocks you do, the more names you notice. I present to you the most interesting name draft I could make. 1. Taco Charlton, DE, Michigan - It's a reach, but who doesn't love tacos? 2. JuJu Smith-Schuster, WR, USC - Hopefully this would be some good juju for the rest of the draft. 3. Budda Baker, S, Washington - I almost went with DeDe Westbrook for repetition, but having good juju and karma is tough to beat. 4. Fish Smithson, S, Kansas - Fish tacos anyone? 4. Jake Butt, TE, Michigan - My inner 7-year old is laughing. His draft stock will fall because of the knee injury. 5. Chunky Clements, DT, Illinois - Chunky fish tacos anyone? 7. Storm …

Most people are indicating we need to strengthen at tackle but we seem to have too much potentially inside at guard and centre and I wondered with the new oline coach who seems to be well respected could this be our depth chart for the oline in 2017. Left tackle: Kyle Long Charles Leno jnr Left guard: Josh Sinton draft pick 2017 to back up both guards and centre Centre: Hroniss Grasu ditto above Right guard: Eric Kush ditto above Right tackle: Cody Whitehair Bobby Massie (either becomes serviceable depth or wait until there is no cap hit releasing him I know this would possibly mess up building continuity at the position but we are paying Long left tackle…

There was an article on CSNChicago.com about the Bears that I found interesting. It gave team stats in some offensive and defensive areas for the Bears compared to teams which made the playoffs this year. I was actually surprised by the info provided and encouraged in that if we could rank that favorably with the 2016 playoff teams with 19 players on IR, what could we accomplish in 2017 with a healthy roster and key additions made this opffseason in FA and the draft? It is a long offseason.

I think it was just last week and at least a couple of us were speculating on how the QBs would fare as the draft analysis moved forward. I said I felt Kizer would move up quite a bit from his late 1st/early 2nd Rd slot. It seems that process is starting to happen. http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/news/nf...10-with-no-qbs/ Here Kizer is ranked 13th overall, 2 spots behind Trubisky who is 11th overall. Jeremiah has Kizer 15th overall, Trubisky way down the road at 31st. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap300000077...-2017-nfl-draft It's still early and these are just a couple opinions but overall I get the sense both of these QBs will …

New England just turns random, regular, barely capable players into stars. Hogan looked like one of the best WRs in the NFL yesterday, and he's been cut by four teams. He played one season of college ball at a small school, and now he's ripping the Pittsburgh Steelers a new sphincter in the AFC Championship game. On top of that, the Patriots only had ONE 1st round player starting for them on offense yesterday. ONE! Beware any player from New England. Somehow, they are better able than any other team in the NFL, to make the sum of their parts worth more than the parts.

From WalterFootball.com I found this interesting rumor regarding the Jets... http://www.walterfootball.com/seniorbowl2017rumors2.php "These sources also said that quarterback Christian Hackenberg developed well behind the scenes as a rookie. .... This analyst wouldn't be surprised if the Jets went the veteran quarterback route to compete and see how their young quarterbacks improve in 2017." ------------------------ People wonder why a team would trade for Cutler? His current contract is not cheap but it is far more GM friendly vs. making a much more expensive mistake like Houston did with Osweiller. If you think your draftee from last year migh…

I've been thinking about the concept of cohesion via draft lately. With this draft, there are several scenarios where players could be drafted to create immediate cohesion, assuming that type of bond carries over to the pros. Do you believe it works? Or does the NFL speed/ability difference make the cohesion of rookie opponents negligible? For instance, if the Bears were to draft: RD2: Sidney Jones, CB, Wash RD3: Budda Baker, S, Wash RD4: Kevin King, CB, Wash or RD1: Mitch Trubisky, QB, UNC RD4: Ryan Switzer, WR, UNC or RD1: Jonathan Allen, DE, Bama RD3: Tim Williams, OLB, Bama RD4: Eddie Jackson, S, Bama RD5: Dalvin Tomlinson, DE/NT…

He's getting a lot of good press at the Senior Bowl (NFL Network analysts had a lot of good things to say about him) and from what little I've seen he's pretty athletic. He is not, however, Jamal Adams or Malik Hooker. That much is apparent within the first few plays watching him. Still he has some good coverage skills and looks every bit the part of a guy who can cover TEs well but I don't see him handling quicker slot WRs like Adams can, nor does he have the elite speed Hooker has. Just someone to keep an eye on when we get to the combine. http://www.walterfootball.com/seniorbowl2017rumors4.php

This is to gauge the thought process of everyone here. This could be used to help move the "Post-FA Everyone Agrees Mock" forward. Calais Campbell is pretty much the #1 DE available that could fit the 3-4, and Eric Berry is the undeniable FS choice available. Since there are no comparable FA QBs, the combo of FA QB & RD1 pick wasn't included. With that said, what is your preference? I chose Eric Berry & Jonathan Allen.

If we know the Superbowl is still a year at least away, why not use this season to get a QB and his tools to get accustomed to the nfl now. Spend in FA to solidify the D while staying under 28 for age. When the 2018 draft comes the needs should be small so many BPAs to improve a playoff ready team with quality depth. Resign: Alshon Jeffery WR, Zach Miller TE, Brian Hoyer QB, Cornelius Washington DL, Sam Acho OLB, Miller is a team leader, he deserves another shot Cut: Jay Cutler QB, Mitch Unrein DL, Lamar Houston OLB FA signings: Kawann Short DL, Chandler Jones OLB, AJ Bouye CB, Jordan Poyer FS Draft: Trade- Carolina wants Jon Allen DL to replace…

  20. Started by jason,

Looking at the draft class, there are many available options for the Bears to pursue this year. The problem, of course, is the other 4-5 needs that supersede the WR issues. While Cam Meredith had a good season, it's not the first time Chicago has seen a promising WR do virtually nothing (i.e. Marquess Wilson, Royal, Bellamy, Aromashodu, Iglesias, Lloyd, Gage, Bradley, etc.). Well, sometimes those guys do something after leaving Chicago, but that's a different issue. If Braverman was the answer at slot, he likely would have seen more of the field when the WRs were dropping every third pass. Meanwhile, Kevin White is still a complete unknown. A wild card. Can he …
