  1. Mike Brown named AFC defensive player of the week Posted by Michael David Smith on November 18, 2009 10:41 AM ET Kansas City Chiefs safety Mike Brown picked off two passes in Sunday's win over the Oakland Raiders, and today he learned that he's been named the AFC defensive player of the week. It's the second player of the week award of Brown's career; he won an NFC defensive player of the week award in 2001, when he played for the Bears. Brown is the first Chiefs safety to win the award since Jerome Woods in 1997. Both of Brown's interceptions came off Raiders backup quarterback Bruce Gradkowski, who came in after JaMarcus Russell was benched. The first int…

Per an NFP piece written by his former agent, Ricky Williams came very close to declaring for the draft after his junior year. The Bears reportedly preferred Williams to Curtis Enis, and this agent thinks they would have drafted Ricky had he declared in 1998. ...so instead of going to Ditka in New Orleans, he could have easily been a Bear. What do you guys think?

Has there ever, EVER, been a HC more ignorantly stubborn, more ridiculously incompetent, more hilariously overmatched and bewildered by the ability to challenge via instant replay?! This guy constantly challenges the wrong plays, and looks baffled with that Zombie Lovie look when the call doesn't go his way. It' almost as if he's saying, "Yeah, I knew it, but I have these challenges so I may as well use them." And don't even get me started on the plays he DOESN'T challenge. It's time to put the pink paper into the printer so Lovie's pink slip is ready as soon as the season ends.

  4. http://mobile.suntimes.com/suntimes/db_215...AGc&src=cat The article lays out many reasons why the Bears need not consider "cleaning house" just to get another coach with a Super Bowl win in their pocket. I personally grow tired of those that want to get Cowher as if you put the record of Smith and Cowher side by side it really isn't all that different. Realistically, and as Bowlingtwig and a few others mentioned, Shannahan might be the better option. Mostly due to his familiarity to Cutler. And really that is what the Bears need to concern themselves with, making Cutler better and more comfortable. Would Weis be a good OC?? Most definitely. Would he come …

Did anyone else hear the post-game comments about it being "Bear weather" and that the Bears ran the ball well? I'm paraphrasing, but he said something like, "Well, it's Bear weather, and I think that when you have a game like that, you have to run. We had to run, we did run. I think we had about 38 rushes, and any time you do that it's a good thing." Does he really think we are that stupid? I was at the game, and let me tell you...it was disgraceful how poorly the Bears played. To only beat the Rams by 8 points is unreal. There were countless discipline problems, again, and the offense was ridiculous.

As much as I want a regime change, I cannot root for GB...I hope we pull off the miracle win and rain on their parade. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/columns/story?columnist=schefter_adam&id=4725645 Upset of the week: Chicago over Green Bay -- The Packers have won four straight, are coming off a Monday night game -- and are due for the letdown that is awaiting them in Chicago.

He was not exactly a class act, but whenever an athlete dies especially at such a young age, it's sad. RIP Chris.

Here is a request from Uncle Meatball of BearFansUnited.org in regards the game against the ViQueens via this link to the website: http://bit.ly/5Z9JHv Basically what he is asking that all fans attending the game to wait until after the initial kick-off to the game before taking your seats. If I was in town and attending the game, I would be very interested in hanging out with my fellow fans to help make a statement to the McCaskey family and the upper management of this team. It does not cost anyone anything and does not truly make you miss the game, just the opening kick-off. I hope all that go will wait until after the kick before heading to their se…

Robbie Gould has been "money" for the Bears most of his career. Now Gould is kicking in some money to assist a local youth football team make a trip for a game in Miami. The American Youth Football Organization national champion Naperville Patriots, a group of 12-, 13- and 14-year-olds, are scheduled to play a team from Texas led by Deion Sanders on the Saturday before the Super Bowl. When anticipated funding from the NFL for hotel rooms in Miami fell through at the last minute, Gould immediately kicked in $20,000 to help defray the unexpected costs for the 27 players and their families. "Robbie said, 'Not a problem, I will take care of it.' I couldn't thank him…

I just read some where that the Bears are going to let Ogunleye taest the waters of being a FA. Does this mean that we will go after Kampman fron the Packers?

http://theredzone.org/BlogDescription/tabi...or/Default.aspx Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune reports the Bears are believed to be interested in running back Chester Taylor and he could come in and compete with Matt Forte for the starting job. "This past year we weren't as pleased as we would like to be with our running back situation," coach Lovie Smith said last week at the scouting combine. "Yeah, we'll look at everyone that is available." Chester Taylor is a valuable commodity as a complement to Peterson, and he will be an unrestricted free agent if he doesn't re-sign with Minnesota before 11:01 p.m. Thursday. I know its risky, but im saying …
