Forget TO, forget Atogwe! This is the deal that needs to be made. I realize that Phillips is out of money by now, but if there is a way.... http://www.nationalfootballpost.com/Logan-...-be-traded.html

I read that OL Kevin Shaffer is no longer in the mix to be the starting left guard, and the fight will be between OG Johan Asiata and OG Lance Louis will compete for the job. So where does this leave Beekman as a back up? Is Shaffer that bad at OG and will be a back up OL? Does Tice think that Asiata and Louis are doing so well that one of them will be the starter this year? What are your thoughts?

I realize that it may seem waaaaaaaaaay early for this, but Yahoo has opened Fantasy Football 2010 for entrance. I'm wondering if people are interested in joining yet. It might just give us another time waster of football related things to talk about. I've already renewed the league Talkbears 2 and set a draft time of Sept 5th at 8:00pm. Draft invites have been sent to all of last year's teams. I'm looking forward to seeing where the Bears WRs are ranked. Any thoughts?

It's nice to hear the young Olinemen making progress. Here is some Q and A's from a Tice interview : http://espn.go.com/blog/chicago/bears CHICAGO -- Chicago Bears offensive line coach Mike Tice spent some time Wednesday on the “Afternoon Saloon” on ESPN 1000 discussing some of the technical aspects of offensive line play, and they relate to the Bears for the upcoming season. Because Tice was so detailed in his responses to great questions from Carmen DeFalco, John Jurkovic and Harry Teinowitz, we decided to paraphrase the questions and transcribe the whole interview in a question-and-answer format so you can get the full gist of the offensive line coach’s…

Chicago Bears.com - Martz in Attack Mode Martz: "We want to be in an attack mode no matter what." I love it. In other words, it's EXACTLY the opposite of the garbage offense that the Bears have had for most of the past decade with guys like Shoop and Turner. It will NOT be a "play to protect the lead" offense. It will not be a "play not to screw up" offense. It will not be a hesitant, tentative offense. It will be an attacking offense. I can't wait to watch the NEW Bears offense this season. Finally the Bears have an OC with a pair.

http://www.chicagobreakingsports.com/2010/...rs-defense.html As the Bears concluded minicamp Sunday, coach Lovie Smith walked away impressed with the overall progress made, particularly on defense. "I'm excited,'' Smith said. "There's nothing to not like about what we did. Getting Brian (Urlacher) back at his position and seeing Brian and Lance (Briggs) back together, and Pisa Tinoisamoa also coming back. Then seeing Chris Harris back on the field and hearing his voice, along with seeing Julius Peppers. I see Tommie Harris in the best health he's been in. Mark Anderson ... seeing Zack Bowman continuing to make progress ... it kind of goes on and on. We lik…

http://blogs.suntimes.com/bears/2010/05/mi...port_day_3.html Here are some observations and not-so-deep thoughts from Sunday's session. --- Roberto Garza pushed Brian Urlacher down and on a running play and then playfully drove him into the ground. --- Fullback Will Ta'ufo'ou made a diving catch deep downfield. There haven't been this many passes thrown to fullbacks, by the way, since Matt Suhey retired. --- Craig Steltz made a leaping breakup of a Caleb Hanie pass intended for Desmond Clark. Steltz intercepted Hanie again and later drew praise from coach Lovie Smith. --- Chris Harris dropped a sure interception on a Jay Cutler pass int…

http://blogs.suntimes.com/bears/2010/05/mi...port_day_1.html Minicamp report: Day 1 By Neil Hayeson May 21, 2010 11:35 AM | Permalink | Comments (0) | TrackBacks (0) Brian Urlacher made a leaping interception of a Jay Cutler pass. Julius Peppers lined up at right and left end and pressured quarterbacks several times, even knocking the ball out of Cutler's hand once. Rookie safety Major Wright, a noted big hitter in college, had to be reminded that the Bears first minicamp practice was a non-contact affair. "It felt good," Peppers said. "It has been a while since we had the helmets on so getting back to football activities is a good thing." It was only a M…

Knee surgery knocks Manumaleuna out of minicamp Posted by Michael David Smith on May 21, 2010 12:12 PM ET Chicago Bears tight end Greg Olsen says that after some initial apprehension, he feels confident about his role in new coordinator Mike Marz's offense. That's especially good news for the Bears because the tight end who already knows his role in Martz's offense, Brandon Manumaleuna, is sidelined at the moment. Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune reports that Manumaleuna, who previously played for Martz in St. Louis and was signed by the Bears on the first day of free agency, is sidelined during this weekend's minicamp after undergoing arthroscopic knee surgery.…
