Benson's lawyer, Sam Basset, was just on Chicago Tribune Live and said he has spoken to law enforcement officials and people in the DA's office and all of them say Benson looks fine in the video of the field sobriety test. He also says it is confirmed Benson could be heard on the tape saying he wanted to take a blood test and the officer responding "well I'm offering you a breath test". Mr. Basset said the law in Texas allows the driver to take either the breath or the blood test and that the blood test is considered more accurate. I got to thinking about the draft today, and what the team needs. I figured, the starters have to be determined, don't they? Obvious starters at their current positions are Cutler and Forte. After that, is there one?! The mere fact the question is feasible is serious cause for concern. I just want to ask your opinion on keeping Rex Grossman. If JA offered Rex a contract that was set up to pay him as a #2, but with incentives that kick in with meeting certain stats, would you be opposed. I for one would not be opposed because I think we have our starter and franchise in Kyle Orton. Grossman would be considered a vet, he knows our coaches/system/players, has been very loyal, and has done good things at the helm. With some time on the bench, maybe a light will turn on, kinda like what happened with Orton. A team with a pretty decent return game/return man might be exceptionally impacted by these proposed kickoff rule changes. I'm not sure how they'd enforce the "Wedge" part, probably something about positioning, but this could seriously change the special teams game. Moving the kickoff up and putting an extra 5 yards on touchbacks would certainly increase the amount of touchbacks and dramatically curtail the number of returns in a game.

St Louis put the tag on up and coming FS OJ Otogwe, then drafted a FS at the start of the third round--Bradley Fletcher. Might St Louis remove Otogwe's tag now that they have a cheaper option? I'll admit, I was one that thought Rex got the bad end of the deal when he was told it was an open "fair" competition for the starters role. The Trib is speculating that the Bears should go after either Fred Taylor, salary cap casualty of the Jacksonville Jaguars or Duece McAllister who was released by the Saints. The Trib says that McAllister is a higher risk with his injuries that he has had since his 1,000+ yards rushing in 2006. Would it make sense to sign either Taylor or McAllister as a compliment to Forte' at this point or do you see someone else out there that is a possible free agent or someone that we may be able to draft in a later round as a compliment to Forte". I've thought all along round #2 was the perfect spot for a 5 technique. We struck gold their with Goldman last year and the draft is much deeper. On a side note, Atlanta and Oakland both made deep reaches at safety in Neal and Joseph. i don't know what to think of that, but it helps the Bears in solidifying the defensive front.

I loves me a 3-4 defense, I hate the Packers but seeing their 3-4 2 times a year makes me feel like I'm missing out almost.
