My question is, assuming this season goes off without a renewal of the CBA and there is no resolution to the problems keeping ownership and players from agreeing, could we see scab football again in 2011? I was reminded of that horror by the fact that Peyton was our QB back during the CareBear era. Is there something in labor law that would prevent that this time around or can the owners declare a deadlock and hire scabs to fill the uniforms and break the union?

It has been noted that the bears have been playing alot more man press the last couple of weeks which has led to a better performance. Was this true against the Lions as in another post i cant remember much of the game due to the high level of celebrations!!! Did the Bears use the man press against the Packers earlier this year? Watching the Packers last night their timing on O is off the charts, wouldnt the man press help distrupt their timing if possible?

Can the threads be set to show the most recent posts at the top? Having to click to the second page to find the more recent posts takes time. And now that NFO got his head outta his ass, I'm sure we'll have some 400 page threads around here real soon.

For those who live in Chicago, are you familiar w/ Shiner Bock Beer, and if so, do you know if it is available in Chicago now? And for those who believe this forum is for bear related topics only, um, I heard Nate Vasher likes Shiner. Does that work for the tie in:)

I think right now the setting calls for only like 10 or 15 threads on each page (ie, when you go into the Bears forum, you only see 10 or 15 threads), but would people prefer a few more threads when you go to the forum as the default? The activity has been booming and with that it has forced some threads off of page 1 pretty quickly so I'm thinking if we can keep a few more on page 1 it will keep discussion going in more threads. Anyway, just give me a yeah or nay on the idea.

Since we signed Holmes who do we keep as WR this year? Marshall/Jeffery are a given..but do we keep Holmes, Morgan Williams and hold a spot for Wilson? Then you have Bellamy,Edwards,Herd,Hughes,Moss,Spurlock to round out the WR core. Me IMHO i would go with Marshall/Jeffery,Holmes, Morgan, Williams and Wilson.

I think the biggest question for me before the season starts is: Is Jaylon Johnson going to play and can he be up to speed day 1? I know there are questions at other positions but until we see our players preform, Im going to wait and make those judgements later. Because we are playing Jefferson our first game, I think this matters.

Is it just me or is Olin Kruetz totally washed up? He got plowed on that screen pass to Forte and also got blown into backfield twice in the RedZone

This week first place in the league is on the line and I have an 8 point lead going into MNF. His players are all done and I just have my defense to play (have both Rams and Bears D). The thought has crossed my mind to bench my D and secure the win. However looking at the scoring settings it looks like -4 would be the worst you can get with a defense. So in tis scenario it wouldn't matter but let's say for future ref if I had like a 1 point or so lead is it bad form or good strategy to bench players to protect a win? I guess I have a second question then. Who would you start? My fan side says go with the Bears.

1. Despite what I want, Eberflus is staying I believe. I simply don't think he has what it takes as a HC to get us to the promised land. 2. I'm fine with whatever Poles does at QB. Going JF1 or drafting a new guy. Poles has done well enough in his time here that I'm willing to let him do what he feels is best. 1. Play calling on our side was poor. So many times in the red zone with nothing by FG's. Why run it in OT when you were moving the ball effectively through the air. Playaction... 2. Pass rush was non-existent. 3. Jay can't throw the pick in the red zone. Basically, this was the Lions' game. They were due for an uptick, and we were due for a downtick.
