Per Twitter: Mike Garafolo @MikeGarafolo 50 mins It's been relatively quiet on the Long front. Bears and Rams believed to be among the most interested. We'll see. The Trib says the Bears are also looking at Bushrod and Cook and might have to choose between the two. I say if the Bears can get out of FA with either Long or Bushrod, I'd consider it a success. I'd even pay a little more for Long, all things being equal. I don't love Cook, and think it might be more prudent to sign a second-tier potential starter at TE (I've always liked Delanie Walker) and spend the extra $ at LT and look at TE and OG in the first round of the draft.

RT @BradBiggs: I am told #Bears have 2 representatives at the Kansas State pro day, which is going on right now. Main attraction could be LB Arthur Brown.

Since Emery is suppose to be a draft guru and is willing to trade down. Here is a list of draft possibilities: ( Last years draft as of now doesnt look very good but I think he was handcuffed with Lovie in his ear) SF picks 31 34, 61 74, 93 128, 131c 157, 164 180 222, 237, 246c, 252c With there highest pick being 31 and having a solid roster to begin with I see them trading picks to get a higher quality pick going forward. I would say 20 for 34-74-128-180. That also works out on the draft trade chart. Buf 8 41 71 105 143 177 There is dire need of a QB and at #8 that is to high to grab one of them. So I think at 20 t…

After we signed what we hope will be our starting LT and TE for the next 4-5 years, in the last six days we have signed 6 players who either will start or add much need depth to the roster. 3.25.13--Signed Jonathon Scott who at worst will be a back-up swing-tackle. At best, he replaces J Webb at RT 3.24.13--Signed starting OLB James Anderson who was a big $$$ free agent two years ago. 3.23.13--Signed Tom Zbikowksi for LB & special teams depth. They say he could be the next Craig Steltz . . . 3.22.13--Signed MLB DJ Williams. He's probably better than Urlacher and cost less . . . if he can avoid getting suspended. 3.21.13--Signed blocking TE Steve Man…

Good: 6'7 313 said to be a freak athlete, great size, speed and quickness Football pedigree, should have a pretty good handle on what it takes to have a long NFL career Very little wear on the tires due to only playing one year in Division 1 football Emery said he was the best OL at the Senior bowl, had a great week Tony Wise = says he should be a LT, if he fails at LT we will be a great RT....Wise worked with him as a favor to his dad For what its worth, Howie says he is the best athlete out of him and all his kids. Potential to get better is huge No injury concerns like past first round OL drafted, holy shit!! Bad an…

20: Kyle Long After looking at the board 21-49, there were no OT or OG that were rated higher than him. Only guy close was Warford. I don't buy he was the Target at 20, I think they couldn't find a viable trade buddy. Probably cuz Dolphins established that the draft value chart was to be ignored this year. I was hoping wed trade down, but whatever, or take Sharrif. One thing you cant argue is his bloodline. Chris Long took a while, but now hes great, so hey. Good luck to him. 50: Jon Bostic I like Bostic alot, however I was gonna lose my mind when my childhood hero Neal anderson announced the Bears drafted Arthur Brown. A ton of LBs went before Brown o…

That both linemen that the bears have chosen come from very fast pace offensive teams. In face they come from two of the top five scoring teams. So is this a sign that the bears are picking athletes that can keep up with that fast pace?

From Omaha Beef... http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2013/...the-omaha-beef/ Tebow has an offer from the Omaha Beef Posted by Darin Gantt on April 30, 2013, 3:22 PM EDT Reuters Tim Tebow’s always been more of a loaves and fishes guy, but he has a chance to move some Beef if he wants to. In your regularly scheduled indoor-team publicity drive, the Omaha Beef have offered Tebow a chance to come play for $75 a game. Beef assistant general manager Andrew Mather told the Associated Press that he left agent Jimmy Sexton a message, but didn’t expect to hear back. Their quarterback, James McNear, has thrown 21 touchdowns and two interceptio…

Looking at our line we have a lot of battles for positions this year. We have centers that can play Guard we have Guards that can play center, we have guards that can or are projected in the future to play tackle and we have tackles that can play guard. Our coaches will have their hands full trying to figure out who is the best fit to play where with all the new additions(in bold). So what are your thoughts of who should be where? But IMHO Boggs, Lonergan, Brandon, Dennis will be among the first cuts we make C Boggs, Garza(C/OG)Williams(C/OG),P.J. Lonergan G Slauson(OG/C), Long(OG/OT),Britton, Brown(OG/OT), T Brandon, Bushrod, Carimi(OT/OG), Denni…

After all of us posting mocks, debating FA pickups and FA departures going forward my focus will be on how the current roster takes to this regime and how many of the veterans of the previous regime will survive this TC. I usually take a vacation and visit 1 day. I'm thinking about making a couple of days out of it when I go. What are any of the rest of you expecting to see.

Regarding the Rams pick at 22... "The Rams sat at 22. They wanted Ogletree and were reasonably confident he'd be there. But they'd been talking with Houston at 27 and Atlanta at 30 about moving down to recoup some of what they'd give up to acquire Austin. Their fallback guy was UCLA defensive end Datone Jones, but if he and Ogletree were gone, they'd take Kentucky guard Larry Warford." If there is discussion about Warford at 22, even though it's later stated in the article that they'd be slightly disappointed about all their other guys being taken earlier, then Long at 20 doesn't seem too out of this world.
