  1. The way the rules favor QB's, and recievers, for more points, might be good for us if we committe ourselves to the run game. Since most defenses are preparing for this pass happy league in games and practice, we might have an advantage if we can keep running the ball like last week. Most teams might be more prepared for the pass than the run. So lets run at least 30 times against Detroit. Also on defense for us, I am liking the way we play in the red zone the last few years. It seems to me that many of the points scored on us come from outside of the red zone, once their O is in our red zone we see things better. I've said this before "sometimes I like it better when our…

He needs to sit down with Marinelli and look at these two websites: This is one of the ways in which the Bears' defense gets exposed http://smartfootball.com/passing/how-do-yo...-count-the-ways This is almost exactly how the Lions got their second passing TD: http://www.grantland.com/blog/the-triangle...the-dig-pattern

First, I want to let everyone know it was nothing anyone said directly that caused me to step away for awhile especially not Mad. I enjoy the arguments we have on the board. Someone mentioned it wasn't the negativity but the overreaction we see here and I think they were right. I simply needed to step away for a while to clear my perspective. It's good to be back and I apologize if I offended anyone. I have been a member of this board and the previous board for almost 15 years and I'm not going anywhere. Peace

per PFT and Brad Biggs' twitter. Supposedly on Friday, some guy hit him in the back of the head at a casino.

  6. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/poll/...,0,2452655.poll I voted no. I would put Rodgers, Brady, Brees, Reed, and C.Johnson ahead of him, and maybe even A.Johnson, Fitzgerald, Polamalu, Peterson, Ngata, and Revis.

At SS if Major Wright is out. As per the SCORE. They also reported he looked pretty good in limited action Monday night. I'm happy we're playing Merriweather at SS. He had a reputation for being one helluva an athlete, but undisciplined. That's the exact same problem we had with D Manning, who finally found his niche last year with the Bears in the SS role. Conte's done one helluva a job not getting beat. If we could unleash Merriweather close to the box, that'd be huge.

  9. Well this sucks.. Looks like he's going to be out a while if he's already having surgery now. Didn't see the play he injured it on but now with Carimi out for atleast the next couple weeks, it looks like its Edwin Williams or bust..

I was wondering if anyone else has the same issue I have in my area...When the Bears play at 3:15 they ALWAYS cut to the Bears late...a couple weeks ago when the Saints/Falcons were all tied up...I missed almost 1/2 the 1st quarter. Sunday, the first game finished in plenty of time but then they went to BONUS coverage of some other crappy game and again, I missed part of the 1st quarter. I have never had to buy the NFL package as I really could give 2 sh*ts about any other football team....there is but one team for me anyway, does anyone else have to deal with this? I live about 2.5 hours West of Chicago in Illinois. Drives me crazy!

-Said he can't wait to get on the field. He said being hurt sucks because it's uncharted territory for him. -Claimed Martz needs to tone down the play calls for Hanie (right after Hanie said he's fine with the plays). -Made a point to say "we need to get Matt going" about 3 times. -Told the media he has 2 pins and 3 screws (or vice versa, I can't recall) in his thumb right now. -Stated he would love to play now but he obviously can't. -Said he might be out for the year (in other words, "I'll be back sooner than later") -Confirmed the report that he is engaged again.

George if you have a half a brain you will fire everyone from Ted Phillips down in the front office. Flush this joke of a coaching staff as well!!!

  15. http://espn.go.com/blog/nfcnorth/post/_/id...-bowl-questions The point is that with 1/3 of the selection process subject to ballot box stuffing, and the other 2/3 by players and coaches voting before the season is over having only faced and studied film on 11 teams (roughly 1/3 of the league), the system is extremely flawed. The top vote getting OT hasn't played in 2 months? That's proof that the system doesn't actually identify the best players and many get the honor based on reputation.

If Cutler is not injured, the Bears have already qualified for the playoffs. Clearly, he is the most important part of the offense. No matter how much I like Forte, he is not the center of the offense and can be replaced. The Bears have run the ball very well without him the last 3 games. My point is I would not pay Forte what he is asking for. I would tell him the previous offer is on the table. He can sign that or we will franchise him the next two years. Bottom line, they have to improve the OL and WR core on this team. Someone said in another post that RBs are a dime a dozen. Forte is a very good RB but not an elite RB ala Chris Johnson or Adrian Peterso…

https://twitter.com/#!/Kiplewistv/statu...543222890475521 I suspect Licht will be the next guy eliminated from the list. Wouldn't be surprised to see Ross and Emery in for secondary interviews this week. Though I think Emery is going to be the guy.
